External id or string?
editAccording to Special:MyLanguage/Help:Data type#external-id an external id needs to have a formatter URL, this property can't have a formatter URL according to the discussion prior to creation, so shouldn't this be a string datatype instead of external id? Mbch331 (talk) 15:59, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
- It currently reads (en) "String that displays as external link when a formatter URL is defined.". I meant to say that it's a string and/but:
- If a formatter url is defined, the string becomes an external link.
- Maybe I should rephrase it. Sorry about that.
--- Jura 16:10, 5 March 2016 (UTC)- Interestingly, the formatter URL can also be used to simply link to the list.

- Interestingly, the formatter URL can also be used to simply link to the list.
Update data
editThe Indonesian Government updated the data.Beeyan (talk) 10:50, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- Some of the desa (Q26211545) moved under the new district of Indonesia (Q3700011), so I keep the old administrative code of Indonesia (P2588), e.g. Benua Anyar (Q4211997) -- Beeyan (talk) 09:14, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
New code for island
editNotified participants of WikiProject Indonesia
Island has a code now according to this law (67,2 MB) that just uploaded on 3 April 2022. There are 16772 code for the islands. Hddty (talk) 09:20, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- I think we need separate property for these thousands of new official island code, but i'm not familiar with the procedure to create the proposal. Although both (administrative code and island code) are contained in the same document, they refer to different objects. Danil Satria (talk) 06:07, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
- I don't think new property is needed because the code has relations too. For example Batam Island (Q4842953) (21.71.40044) located in Batam (Q10103) (21.71) in Riau Islands (Q2223) (21). Hddty (talk) 09:28, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
- P2588 is for *administrative* code of Indonesia, not geographical place. In long term it will be confusing, how if in the future document they include river code? Danil Satria (talk) 13:51, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
- Update: island code of Indonesia (P11163) has been approved, so far most of the data has been entered into Wikidata, only about 400 remain because their names and districts are the same. -- Danil Satria (talk) 02:22, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
