The Lost Daughter
(2021)

Children are a crushing responsibility
The movie is really thought provoking. Although I watched it a few weeks ago, I still think about it. The actors are very good. Especially Olivia Coleman and her younger counterpart do an amazing job. The story is not coherent, sometimes you think where does this go? ...but actually I liked this story telling style, because it is close to real life. These things happen, people behave in this way and there is not always a clear explanation given, you need to understand and find out by yourself. Overall a really good movie, recommend to watch it, especially if you have kids. I believe every parent could understand.

The Wonder
(2022)

Impressive
This movie moved me deeply. The story telling is amazing. Especially when the nurse finds out why the girl is really fasting and her mothers actually wants her to die rather than force her to eat. The whole story just really impressed me, it is very thought provoking. I also loved the depiction of bleakness of this environment. The characters were well developed and you could understand background and motive of every single character. The acting was superb, especially Florence. The framing of this movie was a bit unexpected, but I believe they wanted to make us think about how this story transpires to our times. Very relevant and thought provoking movie.
