RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race
(2020)

Love love this!
I love Ru Paul's Drag Race...all shows, especially this series! I am a "die hard" drag race fan...a 67 year old grandma with a wonderful 78 year old husband. In this world of Trump, (What a fiasco that is!) and all of the wars in the world, the violent television shows, (Don't get me wrong. I do indulge in violent shows now and then!) vast poverty and depression, it is so great to watch a show that is so entertaining and damn good. So much love in the episodes, despite being a competition show. If there are differences or animosity, it never shows in a mean way. Even when the queens lose the lip sync battles, they are left with praise and compliments from Ru, Michelle, and the guest panel members. My husbands nephew just passed away this past year. He was a drag queen, and a damn good one I'm told. I did not know him personally. He lived and worked in Toronto and went under the name Sylvia. I am rewatching these episodes in memory of Sylvia.

Collision Earth
(2011)

Really bad!
Special effects are terrible. It felt like someone was shaking my tv for simulation in the spaceship. The car conversation scenes...really bad. Looks like the car is on a side to side conveyor belt to make it look like the driver is really driving. When the metal, cars etc., start rising, it looks so phoney. And they keep getting back into cars! And the background music is hilarious. The acting is so bad. Some actors over exaggerate while others barely react.

"Project seven. Whatever happened to one to six?"...is the best line in the movie!

And he makes it out just in time to see his wife's success! Aarrgg! Probably the worst movie I've ever watched. But if someone wants to watch it, knock yourself out. (The 2 is for the fight scenes.) Oh, no nudity, sex scenes or swearing.

The Janes
(2022)

Fantastic Education!
Should be part of pre-high school mandatory history education. Nothing hidden in this well documented film. So specific...right from the "Janes" and Police mouths. What a brave and determined group of women. The before and after photos and interviews are so well presented that you know exactly who did and said what. Love the closing song. So appropriate. The research done on this leaves me with a renewed appreciation for the people who fought for the rights of women. I highly recommend this to everyone at, and over, the age of 16. The reason I believe it should be part of school curriculum is because there should be some more abortion education provided as well. Just my opinion.

The Golden Bachelor
(2023)

Mature behaviour
The best of the Bachelorette bachelor series. This is reality, the closest to real characters. Gerry is handsome and has aged like a fine wine. Extremely compassionate. He connects with each woman. The women are of different races, are different sizes, and vastly different personalities. I love respect they have for each other..not at all like the caddy crap that goes on in the junior versions. There is more enjoyment and anticipation in this series...and the women that are let go are let down softly. This show will catch on and the next will probably be The Golden Bachelorette! But...I've only watched the first three episodes. The show could turn on a dime, however, I am glued already. Now could we get The Golden Bachelors/Bachelorettes in Paradise. That show needs some help!

A House on the Bayou
(2021)

Interesting!
I think I saw this before but stopped it close to the beginning. When you get to the "house", things will turn quickly. Lots of cringe worthy scenes. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Great acting by all! Love Grandpa. Actually, the Grandpa and Isaac parts could have been used in a number of different "sin" scenarios. The background music, at times, can be a little cheesy, especially during the climax building times. This is why I didn't give the movie an 8. It's a 7+. Good story and love the ending. I don't believe I've ever seen a horror story with a moral before. This is a movie that I will think about for quite awhile. Actually, I think I will give it an 8.

Robbery
(2018)

This is a really good drama!
My husband and I happened to really like this movie. This is filmed in Canada. I'm assuming near Toronto as both Stanton and Hindle are from Toronto. This is not an action movie. It's intense drama. Starts off slowly but like most good movies, it builds up to a climax. As a first time major role for the main character, he was amazing! This is the type of movie we enjoy...no loud noises, no car races, no loud music, just a bit of violence, lots of tension. All of the actors were excellent. The story was very good, with twists. I had tears at the end. We were emotionally invested. I don't understand the low ratings!

A Quiet Place
(2018)

Fantastic!
Two Thumbs Up! One of the best horror movies I've ever seen. The first terrifying event was so unexpected, and my heart was in my throat through the rest of the movie. I love Emily Blunt. She is one of my favourite actors, however, I can't think of an actor that I like best in this movie because they were all outstanding. You can really see the connection between the real life married actors. Now if you liked War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise, and I do, you'll enjoy this. Brilliant. There is very little talking so keep your eyes on the screen. I'm looking forward to watching Part 2, immediately!

Jump, Darling
(2020)

Great story!
So well done. Apparently parts of this film are based on conversations the producer had with his grandmother before she passed away. Terrific acting by all. Filmed in Toronto Ontario.

Two Deaths of Henry Baker
(2020)

Good thriller!
If you like violence, this is a movie for you. I liked the story myself. The other ratings are low but it was pretty well done. For a mature audience!!!

Great soundtrack!

Buckley's Chance
(2021)

A Family Movie
A great family movie ๐Ÿฟ ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ A little far fetched at times, but many lessons throughout. I'm 65 and my husband is 75. We both really enjoyed it. No swearing, nudity or violence. (Not to say that we don't watch those also.)

The Artist's Wife
(2019)

Beautiful!
Wonderful story, terrific acting, great music. Love Lena Olin...she is so authentic! Story is a realization of what will happen to many spouses. For a mature audience.

One Night in Bangkok
(2020)

It's all in the story...
My husband and I both loved this movie. No loud music or special effects. Turn up the volume. The conversations are important. Great story. The acting by both main characters...spot on.

Closet Monster
(2015)

Pretty darn good!
Acting is top notch! Excellent story line. Quite deep! This movie had my full attention from beginning to end. For a mature audience. Watched it in tv. Will have to record it to skip commercials.

Wildhood
(2021)

Well done
No special effects here. Just a beautiful story about 2 brothers who escape an abusive home to look for their mother. On the journey, they find a friend. Like the soundtrack too!

Nine Days
(2020)

Very deep!
Other such movies I have seen are "What Dreams May Come" and "The Shack". If you want action and suspense...don't bother. But if you like deep physiological dramas, you'll love this. Love the "poop" choke! This is a brilliant and thought provoking, very intelligent film.

Cast Away
(2000)

Blew me away!
Hanks is terrific in this movie! I'm not a Hanks fan however this, and Captain Phillips, really showcase his skills. Cinematography is excellent. There are very few movies that I rate as a ten. I enjoyed it even more when I watched it a second time.

They Who Surround Us
(2020)

Heart tugging
No swearing, no violence, no gory scenes...it can be done. I really liked this movie. I may be a little biased being that my ancestors are from Ukraine. I base whether a drama is good or bad, on how much I had an emotional attachment to the main character, and I did... very much. It is slow moving, but I really didn't mind.

Succession
(2018)

Brilliant!
I am surprised at the previous reviews! This series is really good. It's deep. I base my ratings at how well I connect with the main character. Well there are many main characters, and I connected with all of them! So well written, and conversations are believable. Too bad there isn't another season!

The World to Come
(2020)

Romantic...Emotional
I really like this movie, acting is well done. I was emotionally drawn to more than one character. I really appreciate the relationships. Left me thinking ๐Ÿค”

Timeless Love
(2019)

Not bad!
I really don't like romance movies, but I like this one. I like the two main characters and the acting is pretty good.

Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda
(2011)

The best!
This is a series of true crime stories that are very well re-enacted, and very well explained by Lt. Joe Kenda himself. His narrations are entertaining, and not boring as in many other true crime series. Love to binge watch this one!

If I Should Die
(2020)

Much of the same
Another narrated reenactment true crime series. Okay if that's what you like.

The Murder Tapes
(2019)

Best True Crime series!
This is really well done. No long boring narrations. Just facts and live video footage. Enjoy!

The Accident
(2019)

Good story
I enjoyed this. The acting is really good and the characters are relatable. I found the Welsh dialect easy to understand. Slow moving. No special affects.

Love Island USA: Episode #3.23
(2021)
Episode 23, Season 3

Yawn!
Kept falling asleep. Boring, phoney.....Temptation Island for junior dummies. Better yet...just push all of the beds together and jazz it up a little!
