Operation Mincemeat
(2021)

Perfection!!!
"Operation Mincemeat" is an absolute cinematic triumph, brilliantly blending historical intrigue with edge-of-your-seat storytelling. The cast delivers performances that are nothing short of stellar, infusing each character with depth and authenticity that elevate the film far beyond a mere retelling of historical events. It's rare to find a movie that captures the essence of a true story with such finesse and excitement.

Each scene is meticulously crafted, creating a visually stylish tableau that transports the audience directly into the heart of wartime espionage. The film's pacing is masterful, striking a perfect balance between the development of intricate plot details and high-stakes action, keeping you glued to the screen from start to finish.

What truly sets "Operation Mincemeat" apart, however, is its ability to weave a narrative that is both intellectually satisfying and emotionally resonant. It's a film that doesn't just recount events but explores the very nature of truth, deception, and the fog of war. The cast's exceptional performances bring a human element to the story, reminding us of the real people behind these daring wartime maneuvers.

In a landscape often dominated by superficial blockbusters, "Operation Mincemeat" stands out as a film of substance and style. While it's puzzling that some may not share this enthusiasm, it's clear that this film has all the makings of a classic, deserving of high praise and repeated viewings. Its blend of historical accuracy, superb acting, and thrilling narrative makes it a must-watch for anyone who appreciates cinema at its finest.

Thrilling, complex and fascinating
I loved the first season but the second season was phenomenal! Great acting, interesting plot with twists and turns and a great study on human behavior, what make people do what they do and the twisted mind of one guy who is the devil in disguise. The leading actor is a genius, Amos Tamam is the best he's ever been and everyone just shines. I binged watch the whole thing. I hope they make another season! If you're looking for a great show to watch, don't miss this one. Israeli TV is really the best in the world, no wonder the Americans buy the rights to so many shows made in Israel. Writing and acting are incredible!

The Consultant
(2023)

A Thrilling Workplace Drama with Creative Flair and Impressive Performances
If you're looking for a thought-provoking and engaging television show, then look no further than "The Consultant." This series truly is a gem, and despite some negative reviews, it is a must-see for anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers and compelling drama.

One of the strengths of the show is its exploration of power dynamics in the workplace. It delves into the motivations behind our actions and decisions, asking how far we will go to get ahead and survive in the cutthroat world of business. The relationship between the employee and the boss is fascinating to watch unfold, and the performances by the talented cast of actors, including Christoph Waltz, Nat Wolff, and Brittany O'Grady, are truly incredible.

In addition to its excellent writing and acting, "The Consultant" also showcases some truly impressive technical work. The show's camera work is creative and unique, with interesting shooting angles that keep the viewer engaged and immersed in the story. The use of lighting and color is also noteworthy, creating a visually stunning experience that complements the show's psychological themes.

From start to finish, "The Consultant" is a gripping, fast-paced series that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There isn't a boring moment to be found, and the show manages to maintain its high level of intensity throughout. Overall, I highly recommend giving "The Consultant" a chance - you won't regret it!

Chanshi
(2022)

Fresh and entertaining
Chanshi is a dark comedy that takes you on a journey of self-discovery through the eyes of a young woman from a strict Jewish community in Brooklyn. Aleeza Chanowitz shines as the writer and star of this bold series, which offers a fresh and unapologetic take on female sexuality. The show follows Chanshi as she sets off on a journey to Israel to surprise her best friend and find her own voice.

Throughout the series, Chanshi sheds her inhibitions and becomes the free, adventurous woman she was meant to be, much to the disapproval of her parents. The story is well-written, insightful, and full of humor, making it highly entertaining and addictively watchable. The directors, Mickey Triest and Aaron Geva, do an excellent job of bringing Chanshi's story to life, making it a standout in the genre.

Gigolos
(2011)

The lowest of the lows
Really shallow, low, ridiculous and contains actual porn. How low can tv go? Looks fake, like every scene is acted. Nothing good to say about this trash. Makes me want to go back to the 50's. Don't waste your time on this garbage, you'll regret it. Do you really believe that the client is a "teacher"? And she is willing to have sex in front of the camera? She looks like an aging porn star who was recruited for the show. Ridiculous. All "clients" eventually are shown having sex (in all positions and fully makes), I absolutely doubt these are regular people. The guys are good looking but super shallow and not interesting as people which is ok I guess but doesn't make them likeable or watchable.

WeCrashed
(2022)

Keeps getting better and better!
If you followed the WeWork story, you know how compelling this was in real life - and now as a TV show it's not just compelling, it is addictive! It's about innovation, charisma, how to do business and more importantly -- how to not do business. Incredible acting from Jared Lato - he is truly magnificent! Crazy story based on real life! I find myself waiting for the next episode, to learn how much crazier can this get!

The Tourist
(2022)

Kept getting better and better !
Show starts good and ends really excellent! Give it a try, don't mind the negativity. It's gripping, fun , crazy and surprisingly funny. Excellent acting !

The Good Father: The Martin MacNeill Story
(2021)

Heavy handed and ridiculous
Comes down to the director I think. Compelling story, good actors but just terrible result. Everything about it looks implausible even though it's based on a true stories.

The Morning Show: La Amara Vita
(2021)
Episode 7, Season 2

Best hour of television I've seen in a long time
Put two incredible actors together, handling sensitive situations with complex characters and you've got yourself a masterpiece episode. Lots of haters for this episode because they judge the characters but people are complex and not one dimensional and this episode does a stellar job handling that.

Sex, Love & Goop
(2021)

Watch it! You may learn something new!
Considering how many people suck in the bedroom (not in a good way), this is a must watch!

Watch it if you want to learn and grow, there's so much good information and practices and it's done beautifully and tastefully.

Sex is much more than just about intercourses and if you don't grow snd evolve in this area you're missing out.

I know the women will mostly watch it but men really need to watch this.

Hit and Run
(2021)

Gets very good on the third episode
I'm a big fan of Israeli TV shows and this one is slick, well produced and acted. Starts a bit slow and then the plot thickens and it gets much more crazy and intense, it doesn't always make sense but it's still gripping and entertaining! Looking forward to season 2!

I also have to mention the soundtrack that's fantastic and adds a lot to the vibe.

The Ice Road
(2021)

Cliff hanger, ignore the haters
Don't miss this movie! It's gripping from start to finish! If you wanna be real picky about the realism of every little detail, go watch a documentary! This is a fantastic action film, not a documentary so get over it! Loved every minute!

Reckoning
(2019)

Excellent and gripping
I don't get all the hate, this was excellent from start to finish. The characters are complex and multi dimensional, story evolves nicely and acting is excellent. Just watch it.

Johnny and the Knights of Galilee
(2015)

Fun and entertaining
I enjoy this! Don't take it too seriously and just enjoy the light hearted drama-comedy. Good cast! Compelling story of regular dudes turned escorts.

Losing Alice
(2020)

Really compelling
Fantastic script and acting, fascinating story. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You just know it's not going to end well but you must keep watching. Give it a try.

Fear City: New York vs the Mafia
(2020)

Gripping!
I enjoyed this documentary series and watched it on one go. The amount of research that was done to make it must have been staggering. It's nice to know that the US justice system works sometimes. Huge respect to all agents involved in dissolving the mafia in NYC.

Three Christs
(2017)

Like a good play
Thought provoking, human and beautiful. This is a slow pace movie with some fantastic acting. Richard Gere is at his very best. Watch this movie on a cold night, under a thick cover, drinking a cup of hot Chocolate.

After Life
(2019)

Beautifully written and acted
Finished After Life. It is very beautifully written and acted. Very sad but funny and it's not afraid to tackle big human issues.

Amanda Knox
(2016)

Everybody is so sure they know what really happened
Everybody is so sure they know what really happened. Please take a moment to CONSIDER you could be wrong, either way.

All the haters, don't you have something better to do with your pathetic lives?

Also consider that you can't possibly know how YOU would behave when placed under so much pressure and accused of something so horrible. Would you be composed or crack under pressure telling the police what they want to hear? or anything at all to be left alone?

Humans are so easy to judge others! Where is the compassion? where is the benefit of a doubt? What's her motive? Her life ruined by media frenzy and some amateur police work in Italy.

If you want to have a different perspective on this, read Malcolm Gladwell's "Talking to Strangers", he discusses this case a lot. Then maybe you'll realize that your conviction either way is not based on anything real or true and maybe you'll then be humbled and realize that you, just like everybody else, is biased about pretty much everything.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
(2019)

The best movie I've seem in a long time
Really fantastic way to tell about Fred Rogers by telling the story of how he's impacted one particular person, the cynical reporter who wants to do an expose about him.

Everybody knows Tom Hanks is one of the greatest actors but in this film also stands out Matthew Ryhs, who masterfully made this movie even better. So much sensitivity in his acting, it made my cry my eyeballs out.

Don't miss it. Bring tissues .

Vivir sin permiso
(2018)

Over the top Telenovela
The unreasonable twists and turns, over the top acting and back stabbing all around makes it a Telenovela in my book. It's watchable and a decent way to pass the time but it's not top quality like other recent shows such as The Stranger.

Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak
(2020)

Lacking of focus
Too much focus on irrelevant things and personal lives. A bit of context is ok but so many boring details without purpose have ruined this series. Better editing would have done wonders to keep it interesting and engaging.

Jim Allison: Breakthrough
(2019)

Inspiring but the music!
Important documentary about a scientist who discovered a cure for cancer that works for some (over million treated so far). Definitely an important topic an an interesting subject.

The Harmonia music throughout the movie was super annoying and the narrator (Woody Harrelson) was pretty annoying too.

One thing to note here: there were MANY others who discovered a cure for cancer but were put in jail, disbarred, etc. One by one. Watch "Cancer - The forbidden cures" on YouTube. Also another movie on this topic is "Cancer can be killed" - available on Vimeo.

Truth Be Told
(2019)

Enjoyed it - binge worthy
Yes, the main character is annoying with her self righteousness, but that's the character. Not all characters are meant to be loveable. Good acting all around, some implausible twists and turns but I was hooked and binged watched the whole thing and that's saying something. And Lizzy Kaplan twice? Cool.

Medical Police
(2020)

Quirky and different
Didn't know what to expect but I'm quite enjoying this quirky and goofy comedy. It's so off the wall and unexpected but enjoyable nonetheless :-) give it a shot.
