Master
(2022)

Good
It's a good satirical horror but it's flawed. It has a good physiologically creepy atmosphere. It also has an interesting symbolic story, that implies a powerful message on racism in America, but it just drags a lot then takes a messy turn and rushes annoyingly. Regina Hall is so good.

The Adam Project
(2022)

Enjoyable
I actually decided to see it only because of its interesting cast and as someone who's not into this genre Im glad at least I didn't hate it or feel bored. It's cheesy, messy and has an unoriginal repetitive idea but it's still a fun and heartfelt movie. It's light, enjoyable and has some emotional moments.

Dog
(2022)

Average
It's a cute, sweet and emotional film only if you're a dog person like me. But actually it's an average predictable movie. The plot is weak and takes many stupid and unnecessary turns. Most of the jokes are lame as well. It's flawed but seeing Channing Tatum looking over a cute dog is enough to make the movie decent and watchable.

Turning Red
(2022)

Beautiful
It's cute, real, emotional, funny, deep and well made. The story is highly entertaining, flows so beautifully and has great character study. It also tackles new and important topics and delivers powerful messages. The animation is so beautiful and so are the colors. It's an enjoyable animation for everyone and one of Pixar's best films.

The Batman
(2022)

Nice
It's very good, intense, dark and well crafted. The story is beautiful, tackles beautiful topics and flows beautifully. Cast ensemble is amazing as well. On a technical note, it's amazing too. Visual Effects, sound, score and production design are all nice. Its only issue is that it's unnecessarily so long.

Fresh

V Good
It's a beautiful crazy unique sick horror comedy. The story is intriguing and captivating. It has some really disturbing scenes and a stress inducing ambiance that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Sebastian's performance is so good. Its only issue is that it drags in the middle then ruches at the end.

Licorice Pizza
(2021)

Great
It's an amazing stylish well crafted coming of age film. The screenplay is brilliant and conversations are beautifully flowed. The story is interesting, it feels shattered and aimless sometimes but in a nice way, it gives the film its nicely genuine and spontaneous ambiance. The film also has some really stunning frames. It has beautiful 70s vibes as well. Lead performances are superb. It's easily one of last year's best films.

Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)
(2021)

V Good But
This Documentary Feature Oscar nominee is good but could've been better. It tackles a great interesting topic: the power of music and its significant role in culture, politics and history. But the narrative structure is annoying; sometimes when people are talking there's music playing, some other times when artist are performing there's people talking. So it was hard for me to get fully engaged in it regardless of its deep heavy subject.

Ghahreman
(2021)

Mind Blowing
Iran's official entry to 2022's Oscars is just a masterpiece. Asghar Farhadi is a genius, through his special touches he brings out the best of a movie without any exaggeration or forced efforts. This film is all simple, authentic, genuine, sensational, intense, captivating and amazingly made. The screenplay is brilliant and the story is mind blowing, it keeps you fully involved and on the edge of your seat from the very beginning until the credits start rolling. Cinematography is nice. Performances are real and outstanding. It's easily one of my favorite movies from last year.

El buen patrón
(2021)

Nice
Spain's official entry to 2022's Oscars is so beautiful. It's light and funny yet so powerful. The screenplay is amazing. In a nice simple sarcastic way it tackles interesting topics like work environment and power. Javier Bardem gives an excellent Oscar-worthy performance, he's been getting many nominations for his role in Being The Ricardos but his performance in this film is even better, he should get nominated for both roles.

Ashab wala Aaz
(2022)

Nice
Since I've seen the French version of the original Italian movie, Perfect Strangers, the story of this Arabic remake isn't new to me but it is still so enjoyable. I was completely involved by the interesting conversations with all its nice topics and implications. The cast is brilliant, everyone gives superb outstanding performance. All in all, it's fun, intriguing, captivating and highly entertaining.

El perro que no calla
(2021)

Good
It has nice potentials but it's flawed. It tackles so many subjects and has many implications in a way that makes it messy and unclear. It's so simple yet so confusingly complicated. It's so beautifully shot though, cinematography is just awesome. Lead performance is real.

Cyrano
(2021)

Beautiful
It's a very good enjoyable musical with classical vibes. Although its extremely passionate love story is cheesy, unoriginal and so predictable, it's still highly entertaining and so emotional. Performances, cinematography, production design, costume design, makeup and hairstyling are all amazing. The songs are awesome too.

Okul Tirasi
(2021)

Deep
It's so beautiful, sensational, genuine, simple and deep. It tackles an interesting important subject and implies a very powerful message and sheds light on a sad depressing reality. It's nicely shot, written and acted as well.

Italian Studies
(2021)

Okay
It's good but could've been better. It has an interesting idea, I mean it's just awesome to see Vanessa Kirby walking around NYC and talking to strangers, but the execution is moderate. The editing is messy and annoying. And the screenplay has holes, it needs some more depth. All in all, it's far from being a masterpiece and might be confusing to some but it's still watchable.

Yuni
(2021)

V Good
Indonesia's official entry to 2022's Oscars is a very good coming-of-age. It's simple yet powerful and sensational. It tackles interesting important topics like sexual awakening, virginity, early marriages, girls' dreams and access to education in a conservative traditional society. But it feels incoherent and distant sometimes due to having too many subjects to portray, it doesn't take one clear path to follow.

Pleasure
(2021)

Just Porn
This is the most useless movie I've ever seen. It has no story, no clear main idea and a very week and poor plot development. It's just full of random extremely explicit porn scenes. If you want you could just watch porn instead of wasting your time on this film. Lead performance is real and superb though.

The Tragedy of Macbeth
(2021)

Beautiful
It's a beautiful unique sophisticated adaptation of Shakespeare's famous play. It's artsy, intense, brutal and visually stunning. The cinematography is amazing with many astonishing shots. It also has beautifully creepy and edgy atmosphere. The story is interesting and captivating but the conversations are so difficult and complicated since the lines are taken as they exactly are from the play so it's annoying and hard to follow sometimes. Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand give excellent performances.

Respect
(2021)

V Good
This is a decent biopic with an interesting plot that portrays critical phases of the life of superstar Aretha Franklin. But it's unnecessarily too long which makes it boring at certain points. It also feels messy and incoherent sometimes. Jennifer Hudson's performance is so good. Music is awesome.

Hytti nro 6
(2021)

Very Good
Finland's official entry to 2022's Oscars, that made it to the shortlist, is beautiful, simple and genuine. The relationship between the leads is so unique and likable. Their performances are superb and their characters are catchy too. The film also tackles interesting topics like passion, relationships and trust. It's sensational but also sometimes feels empty and flat.

The Tender Bar
(2021)

Average
It's an average coming of age film. It has some good elements but it feels empty. The cast is interesting with very good performances. Cinematography is nice. It also tackles a beautiful topic but the screenplay is a mess. Dialogues are weak and the story flows chaotically. Editing is bad too.

iGilbert
(2021)

Bad
I came across this film accidentally and decided to check it out because its premise seemed interesting but turns out to be bad on so many levels. The story is stupid and ridiculous. Directing is a mess. Screenplay is so weak and cheesy. It badly tries to tackle multiple topics so it loses its main path. Performances are lame.

Cicada
(2020)

Okay
It has very good potentials but it could've been better. It has a beautiful story with a powerful topic but it fails in portraying it . It's very well shot and acted but the script is weak and the dialogues are uninteresting which makes it flat and boring. What's supposed to be emotional and deep turns out emotionless and dull.

Red Rocket
(2021)

So Good
It has typical Sean Baker's touches; it's simple, real, funny, raw and very well made. It's as beautiful as The Florida Project and even more. Cinematography is amazingly stunning, with many breathtaking frames. Color palettes are so beautiful and catchy. Performances are all superb. It is a nice art-house movie but definitely not everyone's cup of tea.

Mass
(2021)

Powerful
It's amazing, important, sad and heartbreaking. It tackles a powerful topic through a beautiful unique simple way. Screenplay is rich, dialogues are nice, touching and deep. Performances by the four leads are Oscar-worthy, the best performances I see this year. It's a film that almost takes place in one location but also emotional enough to keep you fully involved all the time.
