High Society Life From the CW...NEW?
Being a teen-aged girl I LOVE shows like this with some teenage drama and 'high society' life and parties....like Gossip Girl and 90210. How weird is it that they all seem to be on 1 network? The CW! This shows stars Joanna Garcia (from REBA {& i'm a huge REBA fan})as a 20 something year old girl who moves from New York to Palm Beach and gets a job as a tutor for the Baker sisters. The whole tutor thing is possibly the only new idea on the CW these days.

These girls, or should i say Sage, are spoilt and filthy rich. Big surprise that their grades suck?...Hm...NO! The show (or should i say the pilot) gives us an introduction to the life of the tutor trying to get these girls to learn their work...and all the drama that's in their life.

I think the part that stood out of this whole episode was the photo shoot and possibly because that's why Sage got all pisssy and catty at the charity ball.

Honestly I don't recommend this show unless you have time to waste after you watch 90210...but I gave it 6 anyway for trying. It's doesn't live up to standards of Gossip Girl or the NEW 90210, but it doesn't fall hard and fast.

Aliens in America
(2007)

Finally something that's real in this world
Although I have to admit it's not the best show i've ever seen, it's quite good. It's basically about mixing cultures, Muslims from Pakistan and the 'all American family' from where else? THE USA.

I was a bit worried when i saw this show on cable, because i was sure it was provoking Muslims. Being a Muslim myself, I know about discrimination and racism, although I haven't experienced it myself. i quickly changed the station but then in my free time i began watching it online. IT doesn't make fun of the religion, but it shows you the views of the American family and his peers.

I was also intrigued by the main character. He's not A popular jock...or a high school cheerleader...but instead like many of us, an outcast. Maybe we aren't as geeky as him, but i can definitely relate to being a little weird or awkward at times. The family is pretty normal. The dad is a bit different from the mom; opposites attract! And the sister (we all know her from Ned's declassified)plays a normal teenage girl, unlike her brother fitting it.

I recommend it if you want a quick 20 minute laugh!

To Kill a Mockingbird
(1962)

A novel dramatised
This movie was everything i thought it would be. I read the book last year and i never knew they had a movie to it, till i was reading something online and they mentioned it. I looked it up here and i saw it. Honestly where i live, there aren't much classic old movies, so i checked it up online and saw it on goggle. So...I watched the whole thing and I LOVED IT.

You know when you're reading a book you picture what would happen in your mind..well this didn't fall short. It looked like how i imagined it would. They missed a few things, but the movie was quite long so I didn't make a deal about it.

I think the best part was just knowing i read it, and also that it was in black and white. This is possibly the second movie i've seen in b&w, and the 1st one was Charlie Chaplin...so basically it's my first b&w movie w/ sound. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to look up some more classics online.

The Memory Keeper's Daughter
(2008)

Loved it!
I am always happy when books i read turn out to be made into movies. IT makes me feel special..because i know everything that is supposed to happen.

I only learn about this movie last week Saturday when much to my surprise, a sideline ad said "The memory keeper's daughter Saturday @ 9". Of course i had to see it, and i waited and waited and finally i saw it tonight.

I haven't read the book since the first time i did which was sometime in the ending of 2006 to the beginning of 2007. I may not be clear on the exact movements of the characters but i get the gist and to me, it was a good movie. Phoebe's character was well play, but it would have been nice to see someone else play the older phoebe. Paul's character at age 18, wasn't exactly the image i thought Paul would look like but he became cuter at 22.

The book was good and this movie was equal to it, for me at least. I'm happy it came out, and honestly for a lifetime movie, i thought it was great. There was a few minor set backs, but it was a good movie!

The Hills
(2006)

It should have stopped at Laguna beach
This show is somewhat addictive, but I don't like it too much. I watch it on and off, hence the reason i gave it a five, but other than that, I think Lauren Conrad should have stopped at Laguna Beach.

My mind deceived me, because i LOVED Laguna beach seasons 1&2, so i thought the hills would be good, if not better. But sometimes change isn't good.

The show is said to be superficial, and i don't doubt it. It's pretty much something you see in a movie, something totally scripted.

In total, I don't mind the show much but if you really have something better to do/watch...do it.

Step Up
(2006)

It really is the next generation dance movie
I saw this movie this afternoon with 3 other girls and 3 guys and I wouldn't say it was bad. It wasn't perfect **he should have been shirtless more** but besides that it was a good movie. It brings 2 types of unique dances in one combined routine that was so good I wanted to literally get up in the cinema and dance, sing and clap.

Channing Tatum is brilliant in this movie, although his character is much of a thug (which personally is a turn down for me) his role is really good and so is the script. It tells the lives of 2 different people with different taste, different homes, different families...but the one thing they share in common is their love for dancing.

I'd really tell people to go see it because it shows the present generation of kids and teens. IT depicts to lives of them and it really shows you giving up is not the answer

Brokeback Mountain
(2005)

It was utterly exposing...and too horrible to sit and watch
Both my cousins and myself, sat back last Saturday at home and watched Brokeback mountain on DVD from blockbuster. It started as a average movie but then I saw the movie crumble before my eyes. Yes I agree seeing two guys kiss was quite an event and yes it did earn that mtv award...but hello it's a horrid movie.

I don't understand what this movie is supposed to show people...what is the moral?! I go to a catholic girls school and to tell the truth I have been adapted to the gay life, not because I want to but because I accept the way they choose to live life. This movie shows a different perspective of life...but not the ones people want or need to know about. It pushes the limits too much...

I can't say I didn't enjoy this movie...it was enlightening but enjoying it the way i expected was not in my favor. Plus half the time we had no idea what the people were saying!

Veer-Zaara
(2004)

Amazingly Amazing....NOT BAd AT ALL
I would say this movie was the talk of the night last night. We watched 2 previous Indian films of which one was horrible and the next one was a 4 out of 10. I would say this movie put the spark in our night. Since we were babies my aunt and mum would carry me and my cousins to see Indian movies, being of Indian origin we're able to tell a good one from the bad.

This movie was amazing. IT's a love tale gone bad and it contains a distinct historical background of what happened between indians and pakistanis. It's tales us through the lives of 2 people, living vaguely different lives, different customs and in different backgrounds...brought together by Bebe.

The way in which the story is told is distinctly great and you can imagine his pain and feel the sorrow as he talks with the shaking. It's GREAT!!!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
(2005)

It was not really what I would have expected!
I've seen this movie only about 5 hours ago and it's not really what ?I expected. I would have thought the movie to be more "descriptive"...unfortunately it wasn't. It was a good movie just to say, but just reading out the book this summer it has caught my attention that every seen was not depicted clearly. In the book they talked about how Barty Crouch was going insane and HArry left Victor Krum with him to go meet Dumbledore to help...however this was not shown and somehow no one (who maybe never read the book) would know what happened to Mr. Crouch. Also I remember reading about how BArty Crouch Jr. escaped from Askaban with his mother drinking polyjuice and exchanging places with him and she going to Askaban for him. I don't remember seeing that and somewhat the movie scenes were unclear. As I said again...no one shows how Mr. Crouch Junior got out of Azcaban or where or what happens to Barty Crouch.

I know that Goblet of Fire was one of the most demanding series, especially as it has been making for about 2 years since the last movie. I really respect it was a good movie but the important parts which I wanted to see was cut out of this tremendous 'could-have-been' movie.

I sincerely am sorry if anyone felt obligated by my comments and as I said it was a good movie. I do hope in Order of the Pheonix it has all the pieces and parts because that was a really good book. I encourage ne one to see the movie but I am just telling you how i felt.

Maybe It was because went 1,2,3 had come out I had read the books months before so I didn't remember the whole thing to comment on and say it wasn't with all the scenes. However I read the book this summer so it's totally fresh in my mind! Thank You...
