Sahasam
(2013)

Chandrasekhar Yeleti should be complimented for making such a different and engrossing film .
Chandrasekhar Yeleti tends to come up with novel themes or ideas. In Sahasam, he has taken a concept of a treasure hunt which has not been seen in cinema for some time. He blends history, reality, fiction with a good dose of adventure and thrill which engages the viewer. Also, he imparts an ancient-medieval look to the film in the parts where it is necessary be it through sepia-tint, patina, cobwebs, etc which lends a certain authenticity.

However, in Pakistan, he has the locals talking in Telugu which seemed out of place and inaccurate.

Yeleti has been able to get the best out of his technicians be it his writing team, cinematographer Shamdat, editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, music director Sri or art director Ramakrishna. Shamdat's camera is top-notch.He shoots the action sequences and the treasure hunt, especially towards the climax excellently.

Ramakrishna's art work, especially the set used for the climax, is commendable. Sri's background score was apt for this kind of a film. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's editing was fine too.

Gopichand carried the film ably on his shoulders showing the necessary emotions. Taapsee has done well in the film especially in certain sequences like the Buzkashi. Shakti Kapoor plays the menacing don to perfection. Ali doesn't have much to do.

Chandrasekhar Yeleti should be complimented for making such a different and engrossing film . Sahasam is certainly worth a watch!

Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde
(2013)

Nitin Rockss once again
Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde movie is really good movie to watch. it will not disspont you at any point in the movie. the lead actors like Nitin and Nitya menon and another new girl did their job very well. Nitin is totally fit for Karthik role and he should continue the same speed in all movies.

Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde will be a definite hit. If originality in first half was sensed even for second half, this could have been a sure-shot blockbuster. Even then, 'GJG' will be a pleasant, cool, fresh romantic treat in this mid-summer. For college going students and youth audience, connectivity factor will be still higher.

My Rating: 3.25/5

Baadshah
(2013)

Baadshah is a successful entertainer for this summer.
NTR is brilliant performance as Baadshah is the main highlight of the movie. His comedy timing is superb with Kajal and very entertaining also. Mahesh Babu's voice over also one of the highlight here. Brahmanandam is very funny as Inspector Padmanabha Simha. He is also a major asset for the film. Brahmanandam outlook with NTR and Nasser are really awesome. Sreenu Vaitla concept from is really appreciable.

M.S. Narayana is wonderful as the film director Revenge Nageswara Rao. He will definitely make you laugh. M.S. Narayana almost takes comedy in the first half. Kajal entertains every one. She looks stunning in the movie. Suhasini also good here. Navdeep has done glowing as villain. Hero Siddarth also acted here. But he has a very small role. But very crucial role in the film. Nasser is valuable as the harsh police officer. The second half of the film is combo of complete entertainment. Overall movie is good.

Swamy Ra Ra
(2013)

Swamy ra ra has innovative screenplay and direction techniques, music .
Swamy ra ra The director has given tribute to great crime comedy directors like Ram Gopal Varma, Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie with this film. Director Sudheer Varma came out with fresh film despite having so many influences. Swamy Rara is a perfect example for pure story telling using 24 crafts of filmmaking and for using actors just to play characters. Each and every character is important and makes an impact. We have seen umpteen number of Telugu filmmakers making debuts and wanting to make movies like Ram Gopal Varma post 1990. But nobody came close to RGV in making crime comedies like Chandra Sekhar Yeleti. After Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, I feel that Sudheer Varma came close to deliver RGV kind of crime comedy (Kshanakshanam and Anaganaga Oka Roju). On a whole, Swamy Rara is a class crime comedy.

Gundello Godari
(2013)

Promising Period Drama........!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The film is set against the backdrop of 1986 Godavari floods. Many had lost their homes and livelihoods in that awful incident and the movie depicts destruction and pain caused by this natural disaster. It revolves around two love stories, which show how the lives of four people had changed with the tragedy. Gundello Godari opens with the scenes of heavy rainfall and the film soon goes into flashback mode, which reveals the love story between Aadi and Tapsee. But the first half gives little hint about the natural calamity and it throws more focus on the love story between two lead pairs. The first hour has three beautiful songs including one item number and a fight sequence. Despite not having comedy, the movie is quite interesting. The second half heads to reveal the romance between Sundeep and Lakshmi in the first 30 minutes, which seems to be slow and dragging at times. Then the film shifts back to flooding scene. The climax is amazing and the camera and CGI works and background score in it are superb and it is a visual treat. Fisherman Malli (Aadi) and Chitra (Lakshmi Manchu) are a newly wed couple. They decide to narrate the past life, when they lose hope of survival due to devastating flood. Malli reveals his ambition to buy a fishing boat and his romance with a fishing merchant's daughter Sarala (Tapsee). Meanwhile, Chitra also reveals her love story with Suri (Sundeep Kishan). What made them break up with their loved ones? Will their confessions affect their relationship? Will they survive the flood? The answers to these questions should be seen on screen.

The Attacks of 26/11
(2013)

A moving sketch of dreadful terror attack...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The movie superbly throws light on the many aspects of terrorism in a mature and moving way. The film highlights how the ulterior motive of the terrorists is self-centered, their philosophy is hypocritical and how no one can escape the deadly paws of terrorism. For example, there is a sequence showing the attackers incessantly shooting the innocent crowd at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and how they spared none - be the burqa-clad Muslim women, the Hindu priest, the rich and the poor, the foreign nationals, children and even animals.

It is a film that is completely performance driven. I would like to throw a word of praise for the casting director here. Debutante Sanjeev Jaiswal, as one of the two key members of the cast, has worked extremely well to portray Ajmal Kasab's character on screen. For Nana, this film substantiates the fact that he can pull off thoughtful, powerful and serious roles like a pro.

After a string of flops, for RGV (who had earlier delivered successful films like 'Satya', 'Company') this is a comeback of sorts. 'The Attacks of 26/11' will help the filmmaker redeem the 'brilliant director' tag. Now I know why he said that this film has been his most challenging project till date. Because recreating terror and its aftermath on celluloid is no mean feat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
