  • I was excited to watch this movie and boy, was I disappointed. It was predictable as to where it was going to lead and then when it got there, there were so many poor decisions made by the psychic team, they kind of deserved what they got. The last scene was utterly stupid. I hope they didn't do that to keep it open for a part 2, because this one was a huge failure. My one big question for the movie is, don't all security systems come with a panic button? That's the number one thing I would look for if I were to get in a situation where I needed police to come and needed to do it quickly. I'm so glad I didn't have to pay to see this movie.

This movie takes place 20 years after the accident happened, but somehow involves the children of some of the original play's cast, who are redoing the play in their High school. The numbers do not add up. If this is supposed to be some kind of revenge movie, if fails. If it's trying to be a ghost story, it fails. What fails most is actors that look in their thirties portraying school kids. Pretty much all of the movie is seen through one camera lens or another. The girls can't seem to control their emotions, so most of their time is spent being noisy, whiny damsels in distress. Doors mysteriously lock and unlock to keep certain characters on one side or the other. If the main boy was supposed to be the son of the actor that did not show up that night, then why didn't his father ever tell him that he flaked that night. This movie pretty much makes no sense because apart from knowing that someone died in the original play at the school, nothing is properly explained to make a cohesive story line. Not even worth a watch on free cable.
  • This was the dumbest, most poorly acted movie I have ever seen. No back story. Just take a girl and teach her to fight then set her loose with some boys that just happen to like to hurt girls. It is slow, clumsy, and just makes no actual sense. There was not a reason for this movie to be made unless it is to illustrate what a crappy movie looks like. I found no rhyme or reason for Abigail Breslin and Wes Bently's lives to intersect and then for him to just take over a young girls and bring her up, supposedly teaching her to fight, makes no sense. A 5 year old can come up with better moves than anyone in this movie. The action, if you want to call it that, was in slow motion. I put this on because I couldn't sleep. The boredom of it sure did the trip.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  • I saw this movie last night as part of "The Devil's Carnival" road show. If you have seen "Repo! The Genetic Opera," then you are already a Terrance/Darren fan. This movie is the first in a series to be made. It deals with 3 people who die and land in Hell. Terrance Zdunich plays a very menacing Lucifer. Using Aesop's Fables, Lucifer associates one of the fables to each of the people, trying to discern whether or not they realize the sin that has brought them there. Lucifer picks specific members of his carnival to help act out the fables for the sinners. This is a musical and is beautifully done. I was not aware that Brianna Evigan had such a great voice. There are other stars that amazed me with song. I was mesmerized throughout her song. The make-up was well beyond expectation, especially for Lucifer and The Twin, played by Ogre of Skinny puppy. If you wait to see this movie on DVD, you will miss out on half of the enjoyment. The road show pulls you in and makes you very much apart of it all. If this showed in a local theater, I would see it again and again.

Apparently the makers of this movie did no research on what a hostel is, nor did they watch the first two Hostel movies. The whole idea of the movies is that there is a hostel where foreigners share a space for a low price. The object of the club is to pay to kill someone in a manner of your choice. This movie took place in Las Vegas and there were actually only two people that stayed at the "hostel." Also, the victims were well separated, not kept in cells facing one another. Not even really secure cells, thee doors were metal pipes covered with hurricane fencing. As an avid horror movie watcher, I was able to predict each of their plot "twists" long before they came. At the end of the movie, the fiancé has an urn that is supposed to contain the remains of her beloved that went to Vegas to celebrate his final days as a single man. As an unmarried couple, she would not have a right to his remains. I know it sounds trivial, but by the end of this predictable, non-horrific movie, it was just the kind of annoyance that put me over the edge and made me hate the movie. The writers also overlooked what might actually kill someone, healing time of wounds and how the club and murder scene tied in as one place. Poor script...after all but 2 of the known captives are killed... "Kill the prisoners! Kill ALL of them!"
  • This movie was a mix of the worst Outer Limits, Twilite Zone, Tales From the Darkside, Creepshow.... ever made. It made Snakes on a Plane look like a serious heart wrenching movie. This movie starts with a pilot communicating with a family of passengers. Suddenly the little boy spots something out the window and freezes. A crash ensues. Fats forward to now. A female pilot is flying herself and four friends to a concert. There is a malfunction with the plane causing her to go into a dark cloud. This results in her losing he bearings as well as causing her flight data to malfunction. She cannot get in contact with anyone via radio. She also realizes that the plane was not fully fueled when they left the airport. This lessens her time to try to get the plane under control and land safely. Watch as her friends try to come up with a solution and the whole movie takes a disappointing turn. Two thumbs way down.
  • Although this movie was a bit slow, the message was right on. We see jocks and cheerleaders demeaning students. The picked on students are unhappy and feel that their lives aren't worth much because they are so picked on, so they devise a plan to let their tormentors understand just how they feel. Knowing that the popular crowd loves parties, the outcasts set up a big costume party that is invitation only and put them in the lockers of the popular people. Once the crowd is there, the outcasts spike the punch to put all of the crowd to sleep. The popular people awake to find themselves chained together. As a captive audience, they are forced to listen to the damage that they have done to the outcasts with their unwarranted cruelty and they themselves get a taste of what its like to be the ones tormented. In the end, the popular crowd has been taught their lessons.
  • This movie is an action packed thrill ride from the moment Travolta comes on the scene. He is assigned a partner that knows nothing about their mission and even less about defending himself. Reese gets a call that he has a new partner just as he's about to have dinner with his girlfriend. The partner, Wax, is raising hell from the beginning. Reese follows Wax without knowing where they are going and why they are assaulting so many people. With a no questions asked attitude, Reese unflinchingly follows Wax through their exploits and in the end realizes what their true mission is. Travolta is hotter than you've ever seen him. I truly enjoyed this movie.
  • I have found myself largely unimpressed by the After Dark movies. This movie is no different. Let's free a guy from a mental institution, send a bunch of young adults up to a house in the middle of nowhere to a house that is largely made of windows and see what happens. It is what you would typically expect, cliché killing and boring interludes in between. Can anyone survive? Probably not? Is the killer who we suspect? Probably? Has it all been done before? Most definitely. Should you bother to sit through this? I highly recommend you don't. New movie makers need to come up with some new movie plots. The couples away thing has been over done and so it the having the one lone friend that has to tolerate all of the other couples so in love. People, get an original idea, then think about making a movie.

When will movie makers learn to end their movie when it makes sense and leaves the audience happy? This movie had the most disappointing ending I have ever seen and I regret having bothered with i. The premise of this movie is repossessing organs. As we can guess from the commercials, Jude Law's character ends up as the recipient of an organ. This is where all other flaws in the movie start and continue through to the end of the movie. It is through the company he works for that the heart is require, he did not want the organ, he did not want to continue in the business, he loses his wife because of his job and his partner, who could help him with his quota refuses to. There were many poor similarities in this movie to Repo! The Genetic Opera. From a drugged addled singer to the ruthless repossession of organs. There were too many flaws in this movie to mention. If you want to see a good repo movie, stick with the Genetic Opera. You get a good story line, music and the brilliance of Darren Lynn Bousman. I give this movie two thumbs way down.

This movie was a great mix of comedy and zombie. In this movie, the story comes down to a feud between two Irish men. One wants to "kill" all of the dead while the other is out to prove that the zombies can be trained to find a food source other than humans. Seamus corals the living dead and puts them in horse stalls to contain them and uses different animals to try to tempt the zombie palate. Seamus decides that his rival's daughter will be the zombie that shows the others that there is something other than their own kind to eat. With a force of some military types beside him, O'Shea sets out to kill Seamus and all Seamus wants is recognition that he may be onto something with his alternative food idea. Irishmen being Irishmen, neither man will concede. In the end, the survivors are left wondering and we find out the answer to that question.
  • This is a sci fi movie about awakening in deep space and not remembering what your mission is. The Earth is becoming inhabitable, so people are put in pods and put on a transport in order to find and start a new Earth. As Ben Foster's character awakens, he is trying to remember what his mission is and what his past life was. The man in charge is Dennis Quaid who seems to have an inner conflict and also seems not quite sure about the circumstances. They remember about a disease named Pandorum which is a space age version of cabin fever, only worse. They finally remember their mission and along the way discover a mutant breed on their ship along with people that have survived outside of stasis. Ben Foster and the survivors make it their mission to find the new Earth while avoiding the mutants.
  • This is a story about a suicidal girl. At first I was enjoying it because I could relate to it. Veronika is institutionalized for wanting to commit suicide. Inside she rebels and tries to reject everyone around her. She plays the piano and this attracts a resident that is usually very solitary. With her music, she seems to reach something inside of him that might help bring him out of his shell. By feeling needed by someone else, we can all see value in our own lives and we can stop living for what we can do for ourselves, but what we can do for others and we can start to see our value and maybe what some of our talents are capable of. Veronika seems to come to these realizations as she explores reaching out to this male resident.

This movie was mediocre. It had some interesting parts, but after a while, it got a bit long winded. Essentially, a couple is on a trip. She feels that their relationship is going nowhere and that her boyfriend is not following through with any of his life plans. She is trying to tell him something and when she feels she can't get her message across, she parts ways with him. During the trip they he sees what appears to be a nude girl locked in the back of a semi truck. Where he and his girlfriend part ways, the truck turns up. The man realizes that his girlfriend has been kidnapped and sets off to find her and rescue her. He runs into a few pitfalls along the way, some drama and death ensues. It gets pretty typical. Not a bad movie, but no the best I've ever seen either.

While trying to do good for his people, a priest undergoes an experimental testing to cure a disease. Unlike others, he survives the testing but ends up with blisters all over. He keeps his face covered and goes back to trying to do good works. By accident he discovers that the drinking of blood cures his defect. He becomes friends with a dysfunctional family with an alcoholic mother, a daughter-in-law that is started as a daughter, used like a slaved and then married to the son to satisfy his pleasures and a son that is immature and unbearable. The priest and the girl begin a romantic relationship which leads to the demise of the husband and ultimately the mother. The newly change girl has more of a blood lust than the priest and he eventually realizes the monster he has created and sets out to rectify the matter. There is a lot of insanity that goes on in this movie. It was very lengthy, but for the most part interesting.

In this movie, some athletes are in Russia competing and the night before they are to go to their next destination, they are confined to their rooms. Young free-spirited adults being what they are, some of them sneak out. When they try to make their way back to their hotel, they get lost. when they arrive, they find their coach waiting for them and find they have missed their train. At the train station no one working there seems to understand English, so another passenger aids the group and gets them on the same train she is taking as it is going to the same destination. Once on board, we discover that these Americans are marked as victims for an organ harvesting scheme. They are systematically kidnapped and taken to another train car where the needed organs are removed. None of the people being operated on are slated to survive. The transplants take place on the train and during a stop to move the new recipients to a hospital type facility, a couple of the intended victims escape. The perpetrators try to find them, blah, blah, blah. The ending was poorly done as it left us without a proper explanation as to how the survivor makes it and goes on to another competition.
  • While this is not the story Poe wrote, it is a great modernized remake of it. In Poe's story, the man has committed a murder and the beating of a heart drives him insane. In this movie, the lead man has received a heart transplant and it has the mind of it's donor. It leads the recipient to specific people which helps him learn more about where his heart came from, the people that made it possible and the means by which it was obtained. Some actual recipients have been known to take on some of the characteristics of their donors and this is where this movie takes us. When a heart transplant occurs, do we question who it came from or just be happy to have it. In receiving this heart, the recipient is able to right some wrongs for the donor. I was pleased with this movie and thought it was well conceived.
  • I dread stories that are not interpreted well into movies. This movie had potential, but the crazy guy was a flat character. He had trouble expressing the right emotions. Jackson Rathbone was great, the rest of the cast was great, but the movie fell flat due to a poorly acted main character. As a project for school, Jackson Rathbone's character is given the idea to set up a study to see what peoples worst experiences are and the inherent fear that comes from that. Many volunteers come for the study and sit in front of the camera to share their experiences. As this progresses, the main players in the movie do the same and we find that they have been had experiences that would make one have specific fears about things. As the study goes on, the guy who conceived the idea with Rathbones character starts to get stranger and this cases Rathbone to pull away from the project. If that character had been better portrayed, I might have liked this movie more. The girl with the birthmark was beautiful even with her birthmark btw.
  • What would you do if something happened to your family and justice was not properly served? Well, if you have money and technical know how, you get even and set out to prove a point. I know if anything ever happened to my family, I would feel the same way the father did in this movie. This movie points out the flaws in our justice system and one mans way to point them out. This movie reflects how easily a plea bargain happens without the consent of the victim and how he can make his dissatisfaction known. His techniques are brilliant, but a bit psychotic. This movie also shows us what can be accomplished through modern technology. I'm sure the actions taken in this movie are unrealistic but with the right brain and money, who knows? We we the father go from complete grief and enough time evolves that we see that grief turn to rage and the rage turn to action. I thought it was a well done movie and thought that the ending was the perfect way to wrap everything up.

This is a movie we have seen before just written in different ways. A girl is suspected of being abused and the case worker takes a very personal interest in her. When the parents are removed from the situation, the girl begs for the love of the social worker, which she gets. Renee Zellweger does a decent job in this movie. I would not call it a horror movie. It is suspenseful, but nothing I thought was overly horrific. The little girl does a brilliant job playing the victim. Predictable, the social worker takes this child into her home pending placement elsewhere and finds that this little girl is not quite what she seems. She seeks out different methods to deal with the problem, but it ultimately ends up just like I thought it would. Not the worst movie ever made.
  • The two good words I can say about this movie are Vinnie Jones. He's always great. This story had potential, but it was not well thought out in its execution. As with the first movie, this is a story about a $3 million bounty. The target is a government official. The assassins were not well established as individuals. We see a small glimpse of how each one assassinates, but not as much as the characters in the first movie. We see a safe area set up for the target and watch all of the assassins arrive at the spot, all with $3 million on their minds. This movie did not have the guts or the glory of the first movie. If there had not been Smokin' Aces, I would not have watched this. If you don't have to pay too much to watch it, this movie is worth watching, but I would not buy it.
  • This is a movie that I think you will either completely love or completely hate. There is a lot of psychology involved. It made me reflect on what sins I have committed and whether one sin is worse than the next. In the movie a couple sets out on a journey. They pass a hitchhiker and refuse to give him a ride. Further in the movie, their car breaks down. They walk to find the nearest town and find it abandoned. Eventuall the hitchhiker shows up and tells them that if they can siphon gas from their car, they car get his car going. From here the relationships among the three take many different turns and by the end, you're not quite sure who did what or if it was all just a trick of the mind. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure it's for people that are not into dissecting the hidden messages in movies.
  • This movie was a great update of the original movie and the Dorian Gray in this movie was much more attractive than the original. Maybe the original was attractive in his day, but I never thought so. In this movie, Dorian Gray's father dies and he inherits his fathers estate. When he comes into the home, he seems to be very pure with no hint of what he will become. He comes into contact with a very immoral man who introducing him to smoking, drinking and women. During the first part of the movie, Dorian is having his portrait done and upon it's completion, it has a debut. After meeting the man who provides him with vices, Dorian sees a change in the picture. He moves the picture out of the public eye and pursues as much debauchery as possible. Being that one can only party so much, Dorian finally develops a conscience and wants to change his ways, but is it too late?
  • I have never been more disappointed in a movie than I was this one. It turns Loomois into a douche bag and Lori into hippie with a very loose grasp on things. Zombie made Michael look like he himself does. If that's what Zombie wanted to do, he should have taken over the role and save Tyler Mane the embarrassment of being associated with this piece of garbage. The character of Michael goes from someone who mindlessly kills people to someone that expresses rage and kills people because of it. Zombie's attempt to keep his wife in this picture was ill conceived and completely negated her being a loving mother in the first movie. Her whole involvement in this movie makes Michael into a being capable of reflection instead of a mindless killing machine on a mission. I kept looking for something to like about this movie and all I can say is that the horse was pretty.

Sam Rockwell carried this movie by himself SO well. He plays an astronaut on the moon harvesting a mineral to be sent back to Earth. Machines run by themselves and when they have collected a full tank of minerals, Sam takes a rover to change out the tanks and send the full tanks back to Earth. His only companion is a machine voiced by Kevin Spacey. Each astronaut is given a three year tour aboard this space station and it is almost time for Sam to return to Earth. Shortly before that time approaches, Sam starts to see things. It could just be cabin fever...or not. Sam Rockwell shows all facets of his acting abilities in this movie, weak, strong, funny, angry, silly, he shows them all. The only thing that bothered me was how pristine the station was and how dirty GERTY was. This movie was perfectly cast and well written.
