Itlu Maredumilli Prajaneekam
(2022)

Do watch it for sure!
This could have become one of the biggest movies of Telugu in recent times, had the director taken more care of certain things (which I've explained further). In fact, this film could have been in the league of Kantara (considering the concept).

People can easily relate to the story and concept taken up by the director. If the following things were taken care of, this movie had all the ingredients to become a great film: 1. Dubbing. For most of the actors dubbing doesn't sound good. Sounded very fake.

2. A more gripping screenplay 3. Better music.

4. Allari Naresh rushes through his dialogues. He does this in all his movies. He needs to slow down and deliver clearer dialogues. I wonder why he never improved on this!!

Having said all of the above, this film is more than a decent watch. One should watch it for sure. Better than the so-called formula movies of actors who are our parents age!

But, as I have mentioned, the director missed a great opportunity to make this a memorable movie.

Un'real'
There's not an iota of 'reality' in this 'reality' show. Pretentious to the T. There's so much fakeness that one can't even fathom!

Most episodes feel so staged that one would eventually lose interest sooner than later. Poorly planned show by the PR team, probably. All they eventually wanted to show thought out the show is her body! So much for 'objectifying'! Irony would have kicked itself in the face so many times.

I can't even convince myself that I can watch this show for my guilty pleasure. Nope. The only reality show (Indian themed) in this genre that is worth the guilty pleasure is 'Family Drama'.

Finallt, STOP aping the west.

One time watch!
To be honest, there isn't anything new or exciting about this movie.

If you have nothing else to do on a weekend and would like to watch a Telugu movie at home, you can watch this movie.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad is grossly underutilized in this movie. Given the kind of talent he has, this movie just doesn't do justice to it. A great actor can only uplift the film to a certain extent.

This could have been a good film. But the makers didn't do enough justice to the story and screenplay.

The Power of the Dog
(2021)

Ending is interesting.
What hit me the most was the ending. Didn't see that coming. Shot in the beautiful New Zealand, this is a slow-paced movie which subtly narrates its characters and their intentions.

I really liked the way story has been weaved (much like how Cumberbatch braids the rope) and how it all culminates in the end.

The Wheel of Time
(2021)

First Few Episodes Are Good
I was really hooked to this show after watching the initial episodes. But, as the season progressed, most episodes felt like a drag. They were lengthy and slow paced. The way it all ended in the season finale episode is very dull.

A good watch overall, but not the best fantasy series out there.

Natyam

Superficial, Frivolous and Insincere Attempt
To summarize - The movie felt like it was made to promote the lead actress more than anything else, which is understandable because she's the producer.

Saddest part is it doesn't stand up for the title of the film. Though it is supposedly about dance, it doesn't do justice at all to ANY dance form.

Weak storyline, half cooked characters, poor acting, pretentious, insincere and frivolous. These are the words that come to my mind.

The only thing I really liked about this film are the costumes of the lead actress (well, that is expected, isn't it?)

Also, the locations are good. They shot in Lepakshi temple in Andhra Pradesh and that famous temple in Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

All in all, a forgettable experience.

Don't Look Up
(2021)

Lengthy and Doesn't Keep You Hooked.
First things first - the length of the film is just too long for comfort or to keep me interested.

It definitely is amusing, but only in parts. A few scenes here and there that made me laugh. But it fell flat overall.

The cast boasts of some big names, but only Leonardo stands out. I think the makers of this film wanted to just talk about the fight of political ideology more than anything else.

Lost in Space
(2018)

Clean entertainment for all age groups.
One of those few series that provides clean entertainment for people of all ages. It is as much a SciFi series as it is a family drama. It does tend to drag at times, and at other times it feels clichéd and predictable. But, a good watch overall. Special mention for Dr. Zachary Smith - that character will make us feel all kinds of emotions.

Interesting film making!
Love the film making style of Malayalam directors. Director holds the attention of viewers. At times, I wondered what's the point of this film! But, that's not the point, because there's no point. Watch it!

Oka Chinna Family Story

Pretty Good in Parts
This one is actually pretty good, but in parts. The writing could have been better. Most of the actors did a good job and they keep you interested. One thing I don't understand though is - why do makers of telugu movies, web series, TV series feel the compulsion to make the actors speak in Telangana dialect when they actually can't? It sounds so pretentious and inorganic.

Stranger Things

Hope Season 4 Turns Out Well
Season 1 is the best. Season 2 keeps you engaged too. Season 3 lags far behind the first two. Let's just hope that they don't make 4 boring.

Kotha Poradu
(2020)

Authentic!
This is by far the best Telugu web series I've seen so far. A genuine attempt by all. Truly natural acting by everyone. It almost feels like you are actually present in the situations shown. Authentic to the core and the best part of it all - it isn't pretentious, like most other telugu content.

Play Back
(2021)

Stupidity has a new name...
...and its name is Play Back! Screenplay is unbelievably bad and the performances are uninspiring. Ananya Nagalla does a decent job, and even she falls short in many scenes, all thanks to the director. I tried my best to give my attention to this movie up until the first half. But, as soon as the second half begins, it's all downhill. Felt like watching a telugu serial.

Killing Eve
(2018)

Watch with for Villanelle!
Jodie Comer steals the thunder in this series. Surprisingly, she didn't win the Golden Globe. She totally deserves it. Coming to the series, writing is really good. Most of the characters have given their best. But, Villanelle is something else. Watch it!!

11th Hour
(2021)

Not worth the time.
Just one word - Pretentious. Please don't try to be something which you are not. I'm surprised this is based on a book. Because the characterisations are so weak, boring and heavily clichéd.
