Spice World
(1997)

Can you say ego trip?
I have no idea what the point of this movie was, but something tells me it was just one big ego trip (Or ego TRIPE?) for the Spice Girls. They made a movie that made no sense, was just one stupid joke after the other, and... well, it sucked. That's all you can say about this trash.

Pepper Ann
(1997)

Pretty damn good, especially for a Disney cartoon.
When I first heard of Pepper Ann, I wrote it off as another stupid Disney series. In fact, I wouldn't give it a chance until I saw the Musical (I was too tired to change channels). I collapsed laughing, as it highlighted EVERY irritating musical cliche far better than any other I've seen so far (I haven't seen the Buffy one yet, though). So I decided to give the series a chance. Sometimes it's not too entertaining, but a lot of the time it has a great off-beat humor style that frequently leaves me with at least a satisfied smirk on my face. "Pepper Ann" captures middle school well (Believe me, I know, I'm in the eighth grade), with a funny cast of characters from the title character (The slightly nuts, awkward, scheming P.A.) to the smaller, more obscure ones (Wayne Macabre, Pink-Eye Pete, Vera the Secretary). If you get Toon Disney or have the luck of seeing it on the Disney Channel (It's one of two decent shows on that channel, too!), give this cartoon a chance, because it could really surprise you.

Ranma ½
(1989)

Curses, kendoists, and perverts -- Ranma has it all.
I'm a progressive Anime fan. I started out on Sailor Moon, and then went on to Dragonball Z. Then I stepped up to Animes with original plots, like Tenchi Muyo. Last year, a friend got me into Ranma 1/2. And I still owe him for that.

Recently, I made a top five Anime list. Ranma was at the top. Why? The amazing cast. From the money-grubbing cynical Nabiki to the arrogant poetry-spouting Kuno, to the Cute-Klepto Azusa Shiratori, Rumiko Takahashi has created characters that have a lot of chemistry. And, if you notice, there are little similarities/differences in certain characters. Firstly, most of them are very stubborn, which seems to be a common trait among creations of Rumiko. Also, take a note of this.... (POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD.)

Have you noticed that while Akane's cooking skills are horrible, Ranma's other suitors are excellent chefs? Kodachi, despite her tendencies to use paralysis and sleeping powder, is a great chef. Xian Pu (Shampoo) is mostly a delivery girl, but she has to have a bit of experience, and Ukyo is an okonomiyaki chef. That says it all.

(END SPOILER)

If you're looking for a good anime with laughs, action, and a little bit of romance on the side, go to Ranma 1/2. You won't be disappointed.

Daria
(1997)

Damn, this show owns.
Daria is easily one of the funniest shows on TV. Her cynicism is unbeaten, although Nabiki Tendo can come close at times, and the supporting cast, like the insecure Stacy Rowe, Mack, the rare smart football player, and Andrea, the Goth Chick, who doesn't have much to say, though when she does say something, it's normally something depressing or insulting. Quote: From "Daria Dance Party": Brittany: "I can't believe it. No one has asked me to the dance! Am I losing my looks?" Andrea: (walks past) "They're gaining their senses."

All the characters are really complex in their own way, unlike the 2D (Literally and Figuratively) characters in South Park. "Daria" is one of the best cartoons out there right now, don't pass the chance to watch it, if you have an IQ over 100

Brideless Groom
(1947)

A hilarious Stooge effort, one of Shemp and Emil Sitka's best.
I love this short. It's probably most famous for Emil Sitka's, repeated Stooge straightman, line "Hold hands, you lovebirds.". Some of my favorite moments are when Moe and Shemp are stuck in the phone booth, Shemp's critique of his student, and Christine McIntyre thinking Shemp's a cousin. You have to see this one, if you love Shemp, Sitka, and the Three Stooges.
