90 Day: The Last Resort
(2023)

Not worth the time investment
Let's face it all these couples are there for a paycheck and a vacation. Regular couple problems or no problems, most of it seems blown out of proportion. Angela is never leaving Michael and vise versa as long as they are getting a paycheck. She's as rude and obnoxious as ever to everyone. At least he's being paid to put up with her. No wonder he stays in Nigeria, who could live with her? Liz and Ed , well who cares? Leave, stay mostly just go-away! Yara and Jovi are cool, but I see nothing wrong with their relationship that a little communication would not solve. I made it through one pisode, well and realized it was all the same ole BS as the entire franchise. You would be wise to save your time and skip this one. Spoiler Alert, I bet they all stay together unless TLC's follow up is 90-Divorce.

I Am Shauna Rae
(2022)

Couldn't finish!
I tried so hard to like this show. The family seems really supportive, but Shauna just complains and whines about literally everything! Also the producers asking everyone how old they think Shauna appears was getting so old. It's is very unusual for me not to finish or binge a show. I just have that need to see how things will turn out. With this show I really just don't care what happens or how many more experiences Shauna feels she was robbed of. I think of other stories I have read or watched of individuals who were dealt a bad hand. I usually come away feeling inspired by the human spirit to overcome. Soul Surfer comes to mind, I still follow her on social media and her life just gets more inspiring each year! I do believe Shauna's mom has contributed to her feeling like she can't do anything because of her size, but and I guess you never know how you would react until you walk a mile in someone's shoes. She really needs to make Shauna feel like there isn't anything she can not accomplish if she sets her mind to it. Basically it's a pass for me, but I wish Shauna and her family the best.

Selling the OC
(2022)

Pathetic!
Wow! This show is pathetic! Alex Hall and Polly have to be the most hypocritical women on the planet! There is NO WAY this show is any form of reality! Hired actors that never sold real estate yet they sell million dollar homes right away! I say wipe the slate, keep Alex Jarvis, Alex Rose and Tyler develop a new show around those three. They are the only remotely likeable ones. If not, at least write a new script where these women are not demeaning, back stabbing and gas lighting each other in every scene. It's so annoyingly gross and unwatchable! Glamorizing this kind of unrelenting bullying in the work place is pathetic. If the Oppenheimer Group is real I can't imagine someone hiring these women. Let's be real if you're selling a 10,000,000 house you care how your agent representing you. Having full blown arguments with co-workers in your living room would not be tolerated. Don't waste your time watching unless watching women demoralize each other is your thing. I stopped watching after episode 2.

Arranged
(2015)

Most couples do not seem to be truly arranged marriages?
Just another scripted "reality" show. Most of these couples do not seem to be in truly arranged marriages? Especially Ragini and Veeral, they are just a modern Indian couple planning an extravagant wedding on TV? You certainly don't get any feelings that they didn't pick each other. They are even writing their vows? Who writes vows about someone they barely know? Josh and "what's her name" are same. Maybe their parents went to the same country club, but you get no vibes that the parents arranged their marriage. She is so spoiled it's extremely hard to watch an adult act like she does. Made it to the third episode before I bailed. That's very unusual for me because I usually stick it out just to see how things end up. Don't waste your time.

Pig Royalty
(2021)

Are these 10's from people in the show?
I found pig showing very interesting, I never even knew it existed. The drama not so much! How embarrassing for these two team leaders to be acting the way they do in front of their teams. The daughters on team Bolero are a perfect example of what happens when kids grown up spoiled, so no thank you to those thankless brats. The two daughters on team Rihn were so sweet and kind and watching the one daughter help the momma pig give birth was priceless! Nugget and his mom, I just want to hug them both! I wish this was a mini documentary that skipped the pathetic drama, and left out the the 80's cheetah print girls. I would have given it a 10.

Selling the Hamptons
(2022)

Somewhat entertaining.
Okay, so no way do I believe this is a real representation of selling multi million dollar homes. It's somewhat entertaining in that it's fun to see inside the homes. All the agents bicker and argue too much for this to be realistic. I'm not even sure they are actual agents, but possibly wannabe actors with a license to sell real estate and trust me there's a huge difference! Peggy is plain ANNOYING!!! Everyone else is nice enough I'm just not convinced they sell real estate which makes them bad actors or lousy agents, not sure which one 🤔. I would tune in if bored to see the houses but not invested enough to care about the made up drama! 5 🌟's for the house tours and Gino!

Dexter: New Blood
(2021)

Just NO on the ending!
5 stars for the promise of a decent series. I hated the ending worse than the original series. Harrison absolutely cannot carry this without Dex! I spent most of the series disliking Harrison. I'll blame writing, maybe acting? He came off as annoying. Can't see myself watching a series with Harrison as the main character. Angela was just a dumb cop. I can't say it any other way. Rather unlikable as well. Such a shame because the original Dexter is one if my all time favorite series. So clever on every level. Even characters you hate you love to hate, Doakes!

What Lies Below
(2020)

Bad, just bad!
Only gets 4 stars because acting was okay, everything else was just a total waste of 1.27 hours. Weird plot, poor execution and horrible effects. I'm quite certain the only 9 and 10 stars came from someone who worked on the film or knows someone who did. I have to stop falling for all crap Netflix is shoving at us!

Firefly Lane
(2021)

Loved it! Top 10 favorite!
Really loved this show and will be anxiously waiting for season 2! Acting is great and it is fun to watch Katherine Heigl again! I thought the chemistry between alI the characters was spot on. The actors that play Tully and Kate as teenagers are fabulous. I do think the writing lacked a tiny bit, but it did not stop me from enjoying the show and being entertained. The back and forth between past and present is well done and not confusing. Binge worthy!

Tiny Pretty Things
(2020)

So bad on so many levels!
This show is so bad on so many levels! The acting is atrocious. The characters so unlikable. Sex and nude scenes added for mo apparent reason other than every producer out there thinks that's what we want, when all we really want is a freaking well written plot with good actors that draws us in and makes us long to see more! This is absolutely not it! I don't even get the tit

The Queen's Gambit
(2020)

TV at its finest!
Absolutely wonderful! So well written and acted. Held my attention from start to the amazing finish! Anya Taylor-Joy was magical in this role and you simply cannot take your eyes off of her. She manages to draw you into her fascinating world of chess and even if you never played the game you will wish you did. The character development is so well done that by the end you know and deeply care for every one of them. I don't usually write reviews, but this needs to be seen by many, as it is simply TV at its finest!

Coyote Lake
(2019)

Waste of time!
Way too many holes in storyline. Not enough character development to believe the ending. Started okay, but then went downhill fast! If it wasn't such a short movie I probably would have stopped halfway through. Then you figure, I wasted 45 minutes, "what's another 45 minutes", only to realize "oh gosh I just wasted another 45 minutes." Do yourself a favor and skip all together!

Girls Incarcerated: Young and Locked Up
(2018)

Sad, Maddening yet Engrossing!
I'm going to agree with many reviewers that it was very hard to wrap my head around the style of discipline at this facility. The girls have all had very difficult lives and therefore must be treated differently and as individuals. I am sure we are not allowed access to many individual and group canceling sessions, so it's hard to say the facility is doing a bad job, but the girls do seem to get away with a lot of disrespect to the facilitators. The rules seem very lacks and non uniformed depending on the guard and or counselor, but they all do seem concerned for the girls well being. It is very engrossing to watch and you find yourself wanting to reach into the TV and hug the girls and say "you can do this, life dealt you a bad hand, but you got this." I do hope that Netflix' finds a way to not make celebrities out of these girls like TLC has done with the 90 day franchise, as I fear it would compound unresolved issues that are better dealt with in counseling and not on social media. In that regard I'm torn between wanting the show to succeed or not.

The Circle
(2020)

How do people find this addictive?
Are we really so bored as a society that we find this entertaining and addictive? People sitting around talking to a screen, pretending to be or not pretending, who really cares? "I am who I am" lol that's a statement about Gen Z. They can be so fake online and be so different in reality. Here's a concept, get off the computer and go meet people face to face! This whole concept is so contrived and fake! What a snooze fest!

Instant Hotel
(2017)

Love the concept! Mean mean people!!!
Love the concept of this show. Are people in Australia really this mean and backstabbing? I would never stay at any of these places because the owners were just so obnoxious and awful! One exception was the young brother and sister with the houseboat. They absolutely have to change the scoring system because it's plain not fair and the guest are only scoring to better themselves not what they actually think of the place. The young couple who lived in the cat house were awful on another level and so was miss "I am best reviewer on trip advisor ". Please don't make me go to Australia anytime soon!

Million Dollar Beach House
(2020)

Five words, Snobby Dumb People , Great Houses!!
Keep the remote handy and fast forward past all the fake gossiping male BS and just look at the beautiful houses. You'll be done with the series in 30 min. Really I would shot myself if I worked in this kind of environment! Men that gossip like this is NOT entertaining and Peggy is just an unlikable B-otch!

Selling Sunset
(2019)

Since when did middle-school girls start selling real estate?
Okay, so when did they start giving middle-school girls real estate licenses? There is absolutely no way these girls REALLY work in real estate! So, I own a 12 million dollar house and I have 100 agents to choose from in Beverly Hills, but I'm going to choose the one that shows up dressed like Marilyn Monroe on steroids with all her middle-school friends and then she proceeds to start a fight over whether she was invited to the slumber party. Oh wait and starts the fight in front of other potential clients WITH her boss in the room who walks out and does nothing about it? Reality, this is not! It is a poorly scripted and acted show that just might appeal to people who love to watch the over the top glam life. Just enough fluff thrown in from the tabloid news to try and make us believe it's real. Not buying it anymore. If it is real, I truly feel bad for these women and the pathetic lives they lead. Also for the two brothers who run this real estate firm who feel like they have to drop names, houses and women who sleep over like somehow it will make them taller. They truly do seem like nice guys without all that garbage! I gave it two stars because they do show some amazing real estate. Just fast forward until you see a house showing and you will be fine! Mute the volume when the middle-school friends show up and start to bicker with each other over the same topic for the tenth time!

McMillions
(2020)

Interesting albeit somewhat slower than needed.
I'm finding this doc. very interesting. It does seem to have added footage that isn't really relevant to the story in the end. My mind is still blown that they could have gotten away with this for as long as they did. I am also convinced now that every game out there is most likely rigged in some way by greedy individuals or organized crime. I mean really why would the McDonald's game be the only one? I'm sure lottery scratchers...nothing is safe. I think I even saw a documentary about someone rigging California lottery scratchers. In this documentary the crazy wife even makes mention about Jerry Columbo having his hand in PCH and the M&M game!

Love Is Blind
(2020)

This is why fast forward was created!!
Boring, pathetic and so cringeworthy! I made it through 1/2 of episode one. Skipped to last episode to see if people would actually marry someone they proposed to after 5 conversations behind a wall and guess what, spoiler alert, people ARE that dumb!! I only used skip 10 seconds 20 times that episode! I am so glad I didn't waste time or brain cells on episodes 2 through 9!!

The Family Chantel
(2019)

No, just no!!
Complete waste of time and brain cells! Chantel and her family if actually for real are the dumbest and meanest individuals ever! Her mom borders on crazy and not in an entertaining and fun way, just CRAZY! Why anyone would want to exploit their marriage in this way is beyond comprehension. I can only assume it is not reality, but rather made up, cheesy arguments that rehash the same old subject over and over and over again with the same outcome, Chantel walking away, Pedro with a dumb look on his face and mom Chantel looking like she escaped from the set of a Psycho remake!

Riverdale
(2017)

What Happened? Season 3 is a mess!
The show used to be watchable, even enjoyable in a campy sort of way. Season two started the decline, but season 3 has absolutely jumped the shark! I get the trend in TV shows to portray teens that act and look older than the really are, but by season 3 this show pushes the limits of any believability that these characters are supposed to be in the their teens. I can put my brains plausiblility meter on hold for the sake of entertainment, but it would take a total shut down for me to believe a teenager owns/runs/manages a speak easy/diner that has a mob run gambling night once a week! Really! But that's just the beginning of the stupidity in season 3.

Black Summer
(2019)

This was really really bad!
I am giving you fair warning, run while you still have a chance! This show is bad, really bad! I was trying to find a redeeming quality after giving it 1 and 1/2 episodes, but I just cant and I just can't finish the second episode. This is rare for me, as once I start something I usually at least follow it through. It would have to be a REALLY black and dull summer to give this show my time!
