Junglee
(1961)

Excellent movie!!!
Who ever gave this move less than 10/10, is an idiot. It's arguably the best movie of all time.

Shammi Kapoor is from an upper class family that has this tradition of not laughing because they believe laughing makes people careless and common, among other things. That is the premise, even if you don't think that sounds funny; check it out before passing on it.

Shammi Kapoor is hilarious. He plays two completely different, but equally funny characters.

Very well thought out and put together, in all aspects. And every actor did an excellent job.

The songs are really nice too, to say the least.

Kareeb
(1998)

a high level movie
this movie was a truly unique indian movie because it was smart throughout. the performances were tremendous. early on we see that bobby deol provides all the comedy. as the film progresses and becomes serious; johnny lever steps in to brilliantly provide much needed comic relief. in these kinds of movies it is important that the audience can relate to the characters. watching this movie you will feel what the characters are going through. its superb cinematography gives the movie a dream-like ambience. this is an instant classic, although its success at the box office will not suggest it.

Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa
(1994)

best shahrukh khan film
of all shahrukh khan movies this is by far the best. the story itself is not original, but the ambiance that it creates is definitely distinct from any other movie. it is truly a shame that people did not enjoy shahrukh khans best performance to date. unlike all of the other characters he portrays in his movies you can make a connection to one he plays in this one. funny how people love it when shahrukh over acts and dont recognize true art when they see it. it is very discouraging to see films like this one not doing well with the main stream audience. it means that the film-makers will go back to their "formula" movies.

the songs of this movie were really spell binding. the music was a throw back to the 70's kishore kumar era, with a touch of its own uniqueness. kumar sanu voice sounds really great, and comparable to kishore's voice. all in all, the comedy, the drama, the music, and the surprise ending make this movie really exceptional.

Andaz Apna Apna
(1994)

Funniest Indian movie of all time.
This movie is simply excellent. For some reason it wasn't a success at the box office in India. In New York, however, I have yet to come across a person who disliked this movie. This is definitely the funniest movie to come out of India. Everyone gives a good performance; Amir Khan; however, just takes over and puts the movie over the top.

Anand
(1971)

Touching movie.
Rajesh Khanna, gives a very decent performance. It is Amitabh; however, who steals the show. Amitabh's character is a young doctor that is very angry at his helplessness to cure the ills of his decaying society. Rajesh Khanna, a terminally ill patient, helps Bhaskar (Amitabh) become at peace with himself. While watching this movie, it is difficult, if not impossible, to hold back the tears.

Mr. & Mrs. '55
(1955)

Excellent film.
The chemistry between Guru Dutt and Madhubala is fantastic. Johnny Walker proves once again that he is the best side-kick of all time. The tone of the movie is ambivalent in that it is very depressing and optimistic at the same time. The music is incomparable. Simply put: an excellent all around film.
