If you're a fan of the visual look of MANHUNTER then you're going to love this interview with the film's cinematographer Dante Spinotti. He starts off talking about how he met director Michael Mann and how he viewed his previous films to get an idea of what he wanted. From here we basically get a running commentary on several scenes in the movie where Spinotti talks about the various technical sides of filming a movie including various lenses as well as a discussion on filters and the use of colors. Clocking in just over thirty minutes this is certainly a very well-detailed interview as Spinotti does a very good job at going into specific details on how he filmed the movie. He also talks about the actors in the film as well as his relationship with Mann. He tells some wonderful stories about what Mann would do to make sure he got the right performances from his actors.
