Good doco about Wayne Gardener
If you remember Wayne and his triumphs in the 80s this is an interesting documentary. I would give it higher stars, but the post production sound edit of the ambient music. For some unknown reason, mit is so loud, you can't here the dialogue clearly. Frankly, it's a rookie mistake to pump the music so loud over the dialogue. The choice of music is also really strange, and becomes distracting as well.. the director should re-release this doco and fix the sound edit.
Great story...not a great production
For an Australian, Wayne Gardner was a sporting pioneer on the world stage and the movie reflects that story. It provides a nice balance between the people who supported him and his own drive and desire to become a world champion.
I do feel it could have dug a bit deeper but perhaps there wasn't much deeper they could go?
The best parts of the story were perhaps the respect Wayne and the film makers gave his partner Donna.
The film is let down though by a cheap look and feel which is a shame.
Overall well worth a look :)...very inspirational!
