There have been several Marvel movies that never happened. From talks of a solo Falcon movie (until Brave New World) to the introduction of Galactus in the MCU, several ideas have been scrapped.

The scrapped ideas included a Don Cheadle movie that would have solely focused on James Rhodes aka War Machine and his friendship with Tony Stark. However, the idea was never put to use.

There is no harm in saying that Phases 4 and 5 weren’t the best that the cinematic universe had to offer to the world. The MCU went to a high of Avengers: Endgame and has been trying to regain that same hype ever since.

Marvel Studios has a wide range of projects in the works, including both rumored and confirmed ones. Some are fresh concepts, while others have been stuck in development for a long time—even before the SAG-AFTRA strike brought the industry to a standstill.
With fans eagerly anticipating the X-Men live-action reboot, new ‘Avengers’ films, and ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ it’s easy to overlook the projects that have languished for years without a clear release date or significant updates.
Two of Marvel’s most problematic projects right now are the ‘Blade’ reboot, featuring Mahershala Ali in the title role, and ‘Armor Wars,’ a project that has shifted from a movie to a series and back to a movie over more than a decade of development.

Marvel Studios has plenty of both rumored and confirmed projects in development. Some of them are new ideas and some have been unfortunately in development for a long time, even before the SAG-AFTRA strike that paralyzed the whole industry.
While fans are looking forward to the X-Men live-action reboot, ‘Avengers’ movies, and ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ it’s easy to forget that some projects have been in development for years without a clear release date or updates.
Two of the most troubled projects currently are ‘Blade’ reboot staring Mahershala Ali in the titular role, and ‘Armor Wars,’ a movie-turned-show-turned-movie that’s been in development for more than a decade.

Marvel Studios has many projects lined up for the next few years, with most moving steadily through development. However, one film has been stuck in development limbo for several years with only occasional updates: War Machine’s movie, Armor Wars.
Armor Wars was planned as a film based on the comic storyline of the same name. It was meant to follow Secret Invasion (which was released last year) and Ironheart (scheduled for 2025). Back in 2011, Don Cheadle confirmed that a War Machine film was in the works and that Joe Robert Cole had been hired to write it.
Nine years later, during Disney’s 2020 Investor Day, it was announced that Armor Wars would be developed as a Disney+ television series, with Don Cheadle returning as James Rhodes. In 2021, Cheadle also indicated that production would start in a few months.
In August 2021, Yassir Lester was appointed as the head writer for the series.

Daniel Craig’s stellar run as James Bond came to an end with the 2021 movie, No Time To Die. Starting from 2006’s Casino Royale, Craig has established himself as one of the best iterations of the character seen to date. Now, with Eon Productions looking for a replacement, all eyes are on the studio as they attempt to finalize the creatives that will be behind the upcoming movie.
Daniel Craig stars as James Bond in Skyfall I Columbia Pictures
For a long while, legendary director Christopher Nolan had been earmarked as the ideal choice. However, that seems to have changed for the time being, with the producers reportedly looking for a more traditional approach, and a “safe and seasoned pair of hands” to ensure the franchise’s continuity without overshadowing Bond’s character with a distinct directorial style.

The MCU has a packed lineup of upcoming projects, spanning both movies and Disney+ series. Recent updates about the MCU’s ‘Vision’ show, which will focus on White Vision, reveal that James Spader is set to reprise his role as Ultron.
Additionally, there’s a chance that Scarlet Witch may also appear. While ‘Vision’ is confirmed to be part of a ‘WandaVision’ trilogy, which includes ‘Agatha All Along,’ there are hints that it could also tie into other future projects, particularly ‘Armor Wars.’
The return of Ultron is a significant development, given his status as one of the MCU’s most menacing villains, and it could spark interest in ‘Armor Wars,’ a project that has so far received little fan attention.
Currently, there’s no direct link between ‘Vision’ and ‘Armor Wars,’ aside from the fact that both Vision and Rhodey have been members of the West Coast Avengers, a...

With Robert Downey Jr. making a grand return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom, fans are chomping to see which characters will be rounding out the roster for the highly anticipated film, Avengers: Doomsday. It’s common knowledge that The Avengers flicks are renowned for bringing together a motley crew of heroes and villains from various corners of the comic book universe, and this one promises to be no exception.
Mark Ruffalo as Hulk | Marvel Studios
It feels like watching a chef swap from making gourmet dishes to whipping up a spicy new recipe, especially with Downey Jr. trading his Iron Man suit for a villain’s cape. Despite the shift, expectations are sky-high for his performance. More spicy news to chew on: the Hulk, that big green behemoth, is back in action for Avengers: Doomsday—not in his millennial ‘Smart Hulk’ avatar, but in his raw, unedited primal rage form.

Fortnite has continued delivering consistent outflow of quality content for the past few years. The gaming community has fell in love with the game’s competitive and ambitious nature, especially the collaborations that the game brings by partnering with other major franchises.

Whether you’re not a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), you cannot deny its importance for modern cinema. This largest single-narrative project of all time is still going strong, despite the fact that the majority of its most recent outings have not been that successful at the box office, which certainly had some fans worried.
But, while the MCU is seemingly on the path of recovery, there are those who believe that the MCU has other issues save for those of a financial nature, and one of them seems to be the treatment of Black characters, according to one fan.
The Master Plan recently posted an interesting tweet about how Marvel handles its Black characters, wondering whether the MCU is really doing everything it should to properly treat its Black characters, despite the fact that – on the surface – they are empowering them and are encouraging diversity in every way imaginable.

Ever since the announcement of Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom, fans must be wondering which characters will make it to the highly anticipated film. Avengers installments most likely see an assemblage of comic book figures from different franchises, which is why it is such a big deal.

It still feels weird to see the Oscar-winning actor play a different character this time, not to mention a villain, after his decade-long service as Iron Man. Nonetheless, the audience expects an equally stellar performance from Downey Jr.

The “elevated” psychological thriller The Surfer, starring Nicolas Cage (who can currently be seen on the big screen in Longlegs), received a six minute standing ovation when it screened at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, and now Deadline reports that a wider audience will have the chance to watch this ovation-inspiring film when Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions give it a theatrical release sometime in 2025.
Lorcan Finnegan (Vivarium) directed The Surfer from a screenplay by Thomas Martin. Here’s the synopsis: When a man (Cage) returns to his beachside hometown in Australia, many years since building a life for himself in the U.S., he is humiliated in front of his teenage son by a local gang of surfers who claim strict ownership over the secluded beach of his childhood. Wounded, “The Surfer” decides to remain at the beach, declaring war against those in control of the bay. But as the conflict escalates,...

When Nigerian singer Rema emerged with one of the best Afrobeats songs of the late 2010s, “Dumebi,” he was a teenager and he sounded like it. He looked like it in the video, too, a sunny hang with other fashionable teens in the kind of bright casuals you could snag from Forever 21. His nasal trills exuded youthful innocence, even though he was coming on to some young woman by calling his dick a banana in Yoruba. His voice had barely dropped when the original version of “Calm Down” was released about three years later.

Who will direct the next Bond film? David Michôd and Kelly Marcel are reportedly in contention, as well as All Quiet On The Western Front’s Edward Berger.
Yesterday came a report that Edward Berger, director of the horrors-of-war epic All Quiet On The Western Front, is among the names being considered for the next James Bond film.
To that list we can now reportedly add Kelly Marcel (pictured), who’s currently putting the finishing touches to this autumn’s Venom: The Last Dance, and David Michod, who broke through in 2010 with his acclaimed crime drama, Animal Kingdom.
This latest report comes from Jeff Sneider, who seconds World of Reel’s earlier story that Berger is currently being considered by Eon and producer Barbara Broccoli.

The upcoming MCU film, Armor Wars, will adapt elements from one of the most interesting Iron Man storylines in Marvel Comics. The Armor Wars comic was earlier adapted to the MCU in Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3. The upcoming MCU film will continue the narratives of these films, where Don Cheadle’s James Rhodes will be tasked with stopping evil forces from appropriating Tony’s legacy suits.

Forty years after the character’s first appearance on the print pages of Action Comics, Superman made his biggest jump yet in terms of making an impact with the live-action set of four movies starring Christopher Reeve. Alongside Margot Kidder as his Lois Lane, the adaptation went on to become one of the most beloved pieces of comic book movie legacy thanks to the handling of the leads at the hands of director Richard Donner.

Since its inception, MCU has captivated audiences with its innovative storytelling, groundbreaking visuals, and some of the most iconic superhero suit-up scenes. However, as the franchise progressed and Kevin Feige introduced nano-tech to reshape these sequences, it prompted fans to reflect on the evolution of Iron Man and other superheroes’ armors and the impact of this technological advancement.

Since the tech advancement replaces the mechanical process of donning the armor with CGI effects, few fans are rallying on social media to abolish it in the MCU.

Yesterday evening, the news broke that Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy is being eyed to helm Avengers 5. Marvel Studios must be pleased with the Merc with the Mouth's upcoming threequel, but the report also featured another major revelation.
Apparently, the movie - previously titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty - will feature upwards of 60 Marvel characters!
As you might have guessed, that got us thinking about who we'll see in Avengers 5. While Marvel Studios has already introduced hundreds of heroes and villains, not all of them would fit into this movie.
So, no, this isn't just a list of 60 MCU characters, it's our breakdown of who we believe would fit into the story as well as which corner of this shared world they hail from. There are bound to be some surprises and glaring omissions which upset some fans, but we think this is a pretty definitive list of exciting possibilities.

Defining a major turning point in his career, Robert Downey Jr immortalized himself in popular culture with his portrayal of Iron Man in the 2008 flick that kick-started the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first place. The character gained unanimous love from fans thanks to his charisma, genius-level intellect, and most importantly, the several suits that he built, improving each one after learning from his mistakes.

Have you ever wondered how a single scene could redefine the trajectory of a character we’ve come to love? Numerous deleted scenes starring Iron Man throughout the character’s MCU history could’ve altered the direction of the franchise. Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., is certainly one of the most significant heroes in the MCU, having been the character whose tale once served as the catalyst for the film series’ narrative.

During this moment, Terrence Howard’s character, Rhodey, came to rescue Iron Man from a brutal beatdown at the hands of Stane.

Under the direction of Oz filmmaker David Michôd, known for visceral movies such as Animal Kingdom and The King, the currently untitled project will chart the true story of Martin’s rise to become America’s most well known female boxer in the 1990s — the “female Rocky” in the words of the film’s producers. A naturally gifted fighter, her life transformed in 1989 when she met her manager, and later husband, Jim Martin. Breaking boundaries, she became the first woman to sign with iconic promoter Don King, and the only female boxer to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Despite recent comments from Iger advocating for prioritizing quality over quantity and with only ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ slated for release in 2024, Marvel Studios shows no signs of slowing down.
With the strike resolved, projects that have long been stuck in development limbo are finally moving forward, and others must be expedited to maintain coherence in the MCU timeline. It’s time for these projects to advance in production.
One long-awaited project is Don Cheadle’s ‘Armor Wars.’ Initially conceived as a movie following the comic storyline of the same name, it was intended as a sequel to ‘Secret Invasion’ (released last year) and ‘Ironheart’ (release date currently unknown). Don Cheadle himself confirmed back in 2011 that a War Machine film was in the works, with Joe Robert Cole hired as the writer. Now, according to NexusPoint News, filming for the project is set to commence in January 2025 in the United Kingdom and Atlanta.
