Gunn’s ‘Superman’ is the most exciting movie that fans can look forward to in 2025. Despite ‘Creature Commandos’ being released this December, both Gunn and Safran described the Superman flick as the true start of the Dcu.
Now the shooting for the movie wrapped around a month ago, and despite already having a sizeable cast, apparently more names are set to be added to it.
According to Deadline’s sources, Alan Tudyk has been cast in what appears to be a secret role for the movie. Tudyk is already a part of the Dcu as he is voicing Dr. Phosphorus in ‘Creature Commandos.’
Even though his role has been kept under wraps and nothing has been officially confirmed, that doesn’t stop us from speculating. Now the most obvious role for him is that of Dr. Phosphorus.
Gunn stated in the past that the cinematic universe will maintain continuity integrity...

Though Elon Musk’s chatbot on X claimed that Donald Trump was missing his dentures during the pair’s livestream on Monday night, Seth Meyers has a different theory. The NBC host joked on Tuesday that it sounded more like the man was wearing fake vampire teeth.
For the record, Grok — said “AI” chatbot we mentioned — wasn’t actually making claims based on facts. The program uses trending topics to create news summaries for the social media platform’s premium subscribers. Because the word “slurring” started trending during Trump’s conversation with Musk, Grok used that to create a summary called “Trump’s Dentures In Discussion Amid Speech.”

The landscape of both series is filled with extraordinary abilities ranging from inspiring to bizarre. In this post, we will learn about some of the weirdest superpowers that will leave you questioning the limits of human potential.
Elastic Body - Ezekiel (The Boys)
Ezekiel was not a member of the seven but was kind of a celebrity like the rest of the superheroes. He was the main organizer of Caps for Christ and strongly influenced the public. His body possessed the power of elasticity, and he could stretch, twist, and contort it unimaginably.
He could make bizarre and disturbing shapes with his body that were hard to watch. The character is a parody of superheroes like Plastic Man by DC and Mr.

Months after the “Camp Rock” actor Joe Jonas filed for divorce from the “Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner, they have failed to reach a settlement in their divorce case.
Following their failure to reach a settlement, Sophie has requested that their divorce proceedings be reactivated.
The musician, 34, and the actress, 28, began dating in 2016. The following year 2017, they got engaged. In May 2019, the two had a shotgun wedding but by June they followed it up with a proper wedding.
The union produced two daughters Willa, 4, and 20-month-old whom they’ve referred to by the initials D.M.J.
On September 1, 2023, Jonas filed for divorce from Turner in a Miami court. During that period, sources close to the “Devotion” actor claimed that the “Dark Phoenix” actress went out to party with friends and left Jonas alone with the children.

Modern English have formally announced their new comeback album, 1 2 3 4, out February 23rd. As a preview, the British rockers have shared the latest single, “Not My Leader.”
1 2 3 4 marks the band’s first album of new material in eight years and was produced by Mario J. McNulty. Mixed and mastered at Abbey Road by Cenzo Townsend, the 10-track effort revisits themes from their ’80s LPs After the Snow and Ricochet Days, like the environment, aging, failed relationships, and love.
Meanwhile, songs like “Not My Leader” are a scorching indictment of modern politics in the US and UK. “It’s like you’ve never tried,” vocalist Robbie Grey sings. “Just to stop the lies/ You’re just wasting all our time.” Stream the single below.

As she wanders through a meadow, an unmotivated movie light cuts through the natural daylight, illuminating her face in her overdue moment of release. Miyazaki’s mid-2010s work undoubtedly influenced Kurosawa’s film. Both Yamato (California) and To the Ends of the Earth were shot by the same cinematographer, veteran Akiko Ashizawa. Miyazaki had also worked with Kurosawa once before, as an assistant director on Tokyo Sonata (2008), and the two remained in touch.

Paralyzed by societal lockdowns, spiritual isolation, and deaths in the millions, the aftermath of Covid-19's rampant virulency continues to deepen the ignorance of a people left traumatized and numb by its ceaseless waves of devastation. Simultaneously fresh and distant, memories of the decade thus far are still distinctly raw, a stinging reminder of mortality, impermanence, and the absurd futility of existence. Though humanity blazes forward with its eyes firmly negating the rearview mirror, many remain immobilized in a state of ennui, desperate yet incapable of regaining control and contentment. Daisuke Miyazaki's coming-of-age drama ‘Plastic' wades into the deep end of this murky quagmire and slowly subdues itself under the crushing weight of its own hopelessness; stripped of pleasure and joy, both the film and its characters struggle to merely exist in a world brought to a complete standstill.

As the 2023 awards season fades into the rearview mirror, it’s time to look past the big winners and red carpet moments to the long-lasting environmental impact of major awards shows, and how it can be improved going forward. Sheila Morovati, founder of sustainability nonprofit Habits of Waste, has made the fight against single-use plastics in Hollywood, and at large, her mission, and has put a particular spotlight on the use of plastic water bottles at awards events.
Morovati points out that for years, companies like Fiji Water and Icelandic Glacial have partnered with shows — including the Golden Globes, Grammys, Critics Choice Awards and Spirit Awards — as sponsors, leading to hundreds of plastic bottles being consumed by guests. The brands have also become part of the culture, with the meme-able moments of the Fiji...

Hong Kong-based indie sales agent Good Move Media has added Japanese music drama “Plastic” to its FilMart slate.
The film is directed by Miyazaki Daisuke, the Japanese helmer behind “Yamato (California),” which had festival play in 2016, and 2019 slacker youth title “Tourism” in 2019.
The new picture is the story of teenagers Juna and Ibuki, who set out to find the psychedelic rock band Exne Kedy. Exne Kedy is a fictional creation from musician Ide Kensuke, who previously released punky album “Kensuke Ide With His Mothership — Contact From Exne Kedy and the Poltergeists,” but the band is actually credited as performing and providing part of the music track in the film. “Plastic” is recently completed and headed for a theatrical release in Japan in July.

When the readers of Rolling Stone were asked to pick the worst song of the Nineties back in 2011, they didn’t go with “Macarena,” “Achy Breaky Heart,” “MMMBop,” “Mmm Mmm Mmm,” “Nookie,” or even “I’m Too Sexy.” The proud honor went to “Barbie Girl.” And even if you’ve never heard of the Danish-Norwegian Europop group Aqua, you’ve definitely heard their song that proudly declares, “Life in plastic, it’s fantastic.” “Barbie Girl” was inescapable when it arrived 25 years ago, and it’s never truly gone away. This past February,...

Teenagers aren’t typically known for being on time, but the crowd waiting to enter Lollapalooza on Thursday morning proved that generalization wrong. “By 11:30 a.m., it was already poppin’, and usually it’s dead then,” a 25-year-old woman told her friends while waiting for Jimmy Eat World to take the stage. She was right. Thousands of fans arrived early this year in hopes of staking out good sightlines, posing for photo ops, and roaming their first music festival in two years. Wearing fishnet stockings and cowboy hats galore,...

The 2021 Cannes Film Festival brought the international film circuit back to life in roaring fashion earlier this month (French filmmaker Julia Ducournau became the second woman director to win the Palme d’Or thanks to Neon release “Titane”), and next up are the trio of major fall film festivals in September: the Venice Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, and Toronto International Film Festival. Venice is first out of the gate by launching its 78th edition Wednesday, September 1. The lineup for Venice 2021 has now been revealed.
As previously announced, Pedro Almodóvar will kick off the 2021 Venice Film Festival with the world premiere of his new drama “Parallel Mothers.” The film will debut in competition and vie for the festival’s top prize, the Golden Lion. “Parallel Mothers” is written and directed by Almodóvar, and stars both regular and new collaborators, including Penélope Cruz, Milena Smit, Israel Elejalde, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Julieta Serrano,...

There is no regional music scene that has flourished the past two years like Michigan rap. And there is no bigger fan of Michigan rap than Lil Yachty. During this period, Yachty has spent a disproportionate amount of time hanging out in the recording studios and gas station parking lots of Detroit and Flint, ingratiating himself amongst the state’s premier street rappers and doing as the locals do — acting playful and dead-serious at the same time, rapping loose on fast beats, forgoing hooks, and stringing together verses out of darkly funny one-liners.

It’s that time of year when the Christmas/ Holiday/ Winter Solstice/Hanukkah/ Kwanzaa Specials come out. Not all different ones of course, but these days the books try and be inclusive and include all the above. DC have cleverly sidestepped the yearly outrage at using either Christmas or Holidays in the title. Life’s too short. I’ve been enjoying these seasonal specials in one shape or another for many years, going back to the late 70’s. I still have most of them and still read them every year in the run up to Christmas. Digital now means I don’t even have to fight my way into the correct comic storage box too, an annual tradition I’m pleased to let go. The stories are generally light and a bit of fun, but that’s the spirit of the season.

Thirteen years ago, a teenage Miley Cyrus released “See You Again,” a snarling dance-rock single and her first without the Hannah Montana moniker that made her famous. The 'Super Pets', debuted with 'Krypto' the superdog in DC's "Adventure" #210 (1955).

As the stakes on all these fronts continue to get higher, Pill’s frenzied brand of no-wave-inspired punk is more apt than ever — and their second album, Soft Hell (out October 26th via Mexican Summer), is arriving at exactly the right time.

MaryAnn’s quick take… Tense, gripping, enraging, but only about things that black Americans already know. This is a primer about racism for white people, and we must pay attention. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing
I’m “biast” (con): nothing
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
Detroit is a movie about racism in America for white people. It mostly does not center black characters except as victims. Its villain — a murderously racist white cop — is also its protagonist. A movie about racism in America for white people isn’t the most terrible idea ever: Detroit wants to show us white people how the systematic weight of endless injustice weighs on black people, psychologically as well as physically, because of entrenched racism, not only of the actively vicious kind but also of the “I’m not getting involved, I’m just minding my own business” kind.

For a film with shootouts, heists, and high-speed chases, Julian Gilbey's Plastic is a strangely lifeless affair. The crime pic, about undergraduate credit-card scammers who incur the wrath of a London gangster, checks off all the boxes — underdogs in trouble, beautiful girl used as a love and kidnap object, slow-motion climax — of an action movie from 1999, with as much originality as you would expect from a film made 15 years past its expiration date. Ed Speelers stars as Sam, the ringleader of four guys who support themselves with credit card fraud. (In an exposition-laden monologue, Sam explains that it began when he had to pay for his brother's medical bills — a crucial detail for creating sympathy, but the film isn't interested enough in character...

Three years ago, Julian Gilbey released A Lonely Place To Die, a hybrid of the Most Dangerous Game and Cliffhanger – and a highly inventive, action packed thriller chock full of and suspense. To create this truly relentless action film/gripping crime thriller, director Julian Gilbey spent years practicing to become an avid and experienced climber, in order shoot the film from impossible positions, situated in and around the Scottish mountainsides. Gilbey and cinematographer Ali Adas avoid CG and instead relied on their actors and stunt crew to do provide the thrills. Every frame of this film is in service of keeping the audience at the edge of their seats with it’s breathless nonstop pacing.
Plastic is the latest offering from Gilbey, and follows the fortunes of the young group of students who fall foul to a sadistic crime boss. They are given two weeks to raise £2 million – otherwise they must face the consequences.
