Gege Akutami, creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, revealed that the character Toji Fushiguro was inspired by actor Jason Statham and Emiya Kiritsugu from Fate/Zero.
Akutami discussed the influences behind Fushiguro’s character in a Q&a, which was part of a catalog handed out during the recent Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition which was held at Shibuya in July 2024.
While considering Fushiguro’s character, Akutami initially envisioned him as similar to Kenny from Attack on Titan. However, the character’s appearance shifted after being influenced by the aura of voice actor Kazuhiro Yamaji.

If you’re a Haikyu!! fan then you definitely know who Burnout Syndromes is. The band, consisting of guitarist/vocalist Kazuumi Kumagai, bassist Taiyu Ishikawa and drummer Takuya Hirose, is behind some of the anime’s most iconic openings. Top The Top! , “Phoenix,” the band has also done music for Dr. Stone ("Good Morning World!") and Gintama ("Hanaichimonme"), just to name a few more anime series as they continue to make a name for themselves across the global music scene. The group recently took the time to talk about their music, how they came together back in middle school, what it’s been like to have...

Demon Slayer’s popularity has been constantly rising since it first began its serialization. It got a further boost in its popularity when it was adapted into an anime. The plot revolves around Tanjirou Kamado, whose family was killed by the Demon King. Later, he joins the Demon Slayer Corps and goes on a journey to avenge his family. Apart from the story, it was the animation that stood out the most.
Demon Slayer season one mostly covered the Water Breathing Style. Several characters from season one was shown to use it, including Tomioka Giyu and Urokodaki Sakonji. Even the main protagonist also trained to learn the Water Breathing Style. The Water Breathing Style was a visual treat to the fans, but there was a lot of hard work that went into bringing it onto the screen.

It's hard not to be captivated by their music, but then I found out they're also an anime fan who is inspired by the stories it tells! I am always and forever in awe over the reach anime continues to have. Check out our interview with Iniko as they discuss their music, offers words of affirmation to speak into the universe, discusses the impact of shonen anime and reveals which anime opening...

An anime series based on popular open-world role-playing game “Genshin Impact” is officially in the works.
HoYoverse, the Shanghai-based game developer behind “Genshin Impact,” announced a partnership with Japanese animation studio Ufotable to develop an anime based on the RPG. It also released a three-minute “concept trailer” in announcing the project (watch below).

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is out with his 2021 Spotify playlist, in the spirit of other political figures who’ve taken to releasing their end-of-year favorites.
Blinken’s choices actually are two lists — one an “at home” compilation of American artists, the other an “on the road” selection inspired by places he’s visited over the past year.
The “at home” list — which you can see here — includes 17 choices, including Olivia Rodrigo’s “Traitor,” Taylor Swift’s “State of Grace,” Jon Batiste’s “Freedom,” Chris Stapleton’s “You Should Probably Leave” and “Leave the Door Open” from Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak and Silk Sonic, as well as “Holy” from Justin Bieber, featuring Chance the Rapper.
