The film comes from executive producers Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss, Harvard alums who rowed for the school and later competed in the Olympics. They are better known as the twins who sued Mark Zuckerberg.
Filming has been taking place on False River in New Roads, Louisiana.
There is a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Mountie statuette on the desk in a scene with Alexander Ludwig's character and his onscreen father before the graduation ball. This is obviously a nod to Alexander Ludwig's Canadian heritage.
The photo used of the "coaches" 8+ was actually a photo shopped image of the New Zealand Mens 8+ which won Gold at the 1972 Olympics.
This will be the second collaboration between Alexander Ludwig and Charles Melton after they starred together in "Bad Boys For Life."
