The Dream Team is back! Not the 1989 comedy starring Micheal Keaton and Christopher Lloyd; I’m talking about Brad Pitt and George Clooney! Apple TV+ unveiled another Wolfs trailer on Wednesday, featuring the dynamic duo as cleaners who mix like oil and water when accidentally assigned to the same job. The preview highlights Pitt and Clooney’s brilliant on-screen chemistry, proving the pair hasn’t lost their magic after several years apart.
Wolfs reunites Pitt and Clooney as rival fixers called in to dispose of a corpse by their shadowy employer, only for the corpse to be far from dead and in the possession of a massive amount of drugs. What starts as a routine job quickly escalates into a fight for survival as bullets start flying and henchmen emerge from the shadows.
Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) directed and wrote Wolfs. Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan star alongside Clooney and Pitt.

George Clooney and Brad Pitt are finally back on the big screen together in Jon Watts’ crime thriller “Wolfs.” They last worked together 16 years ago in “Burn After Reading” — but it’s not like they didn’t want to reunite.
“We’ve been looking,” Clooney told me at the “Wolfs” Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday. “We’ve been trying to find something to do.”
They first appeared on screen with each other 23 years ago in the “Ocean’s 11” remake. In “Wolfs,” they play two fixers separately tasked to deal with the same crime involving a young man (Austin Abrams), drugs and the Albanian mob.
“Jon Watts came with this idea,” Pitt said. “This was the first draft, which never happens. We both loved it. He didn’t tell us which character we were supposed to play [but] somehow, we knew.”
Watts, on the other hand, worried that Pitt wasn’t into...

CBS has announced the first cast members for Beyond the Gates, with Tamara Tunie, Daphnee Duplaix, and Karla Mosley starring as prominent members of the Dupree family. The series from the CBS Studios / NAACP Venture is the first Black one-hour daytime drama to air on television.
Formerly known as “The Gates,” Beyond the Gates begins production later this fall in Atlanta and will premiere on CBS in early 2025.
Tamara Tunie stars as Anita Dupree, matriarch of the family. A famous singer back in the day, Anita worked hard for her success, and raised two daughters with her now-retired senator husband. But underneath her glamorous and refined exterior is a fierceness she gained from her humble beginnings in Chicago.

CBS’ new daytime drama series “Beyond The Gates” has cast soap alums Karla Mosley and Daphnee Duplaix as “Dani Dupree” and “Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson,” respectively, daughters of the Dupree family matriarch, “Anita,” played by “As The World Turns” alum Tamara Tunie (ex-Jessica Griffin).
A former model turned “momager” who gave up her career for love, Dani (Mosley) is the Dupree family’s wild child, who’s also free-spirited, headstrong and uninhibited. Dropping out of school to pursue a high-flying modeling career, she has always marched to the beat of her own drum. Meanwhile, Nicole (Duplaix) exudes warmth, empathy and compassion. Although her seemingly perfect life includes being married to a surgeon husband, not everything is as it appears on the outside… inside.

As for Dani and Nicole’s mother, Antia (Tunie) is the family’s matriarch who at one time was a famous singer.

George Clooney has been cited as an influence over President Joe Biden’s decision to step down from the 2024 presidential campaign following the actor’s much-read op-ed in The New York Times. In the piece, the actor wrote that while he loves President Biden as a person and politician, “the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time.”
Since then Clooney praised Biden for deciding to step down, calling the decision “selfless” during an appearance at the Venice International Film Festival. Last night at the premiere of his new film Wolfs,...

The success of Minority Report in 2002 was a signifier of the highly profitable creative and business relationship between Tom Cruise, the biggest movie star in Hollywood, and Steven Spielberg, the greatest director the industry has ever known. 3 years later, War of the Worlds proved that theory right when it united the actor-director duo for a live-action adaptation of H.G. Wells’ sci-fi classic.
Unfortunately, the alien invasion movie marked the last time Cruise and Spielberg would ever work together since the actor’s on-air meltdown during the Matt Lauer interview and his couch-jumping proclamation of love on Oprah severed their well-balanced working relationship.

Decades later, as the dust settles and past truths come to light, it seems there was a slight possibility of a third Cruise-Spielberg project that became one of the greatest movies never made.

At first glance, Wolfs, the first non-Spider-Man film from director Jon Watts since 2015’s Cop Car, seems to be something of a Pulp Fiction/Quentin Tarantino riff. There’s that deliberately grammatically inaccurate title, which nods to Harvey Keitel’s character from that film, a well-dressed man who ‘solves problems’ when a dead body unhelpfully shows up. There’s a MacGuffin in a bag. There’s a junkie who gets a shot of adrenaline. There’s even a Pov shot from a car boot.
In fact, the director Watts is aping here is Shane Black. To its snowy, Christmas-set core, Wolfs is a Shane Black movie that Shane Black never got round to making. It doesn’t quite share his talent for witty dialogue or outlandish action, but it has the Black sensibility down, telling a story about — as one character puts it — “an absolutely fucking clusterfuck of a mess”. And it has,...

Brad Pitt and George Clooney hugged and danced at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday night as the two megastars’ latest film, “Wolfs,” received a polite four-minute standing ovation.
The premiere itself was delayed by more than 30 minutes as fans crowded into Venice’s Sala Grande in an attempt to catch a glimpse at Pitt and Clooney. When the duo finally arrived inside, the sound — and general vibe — in the theater could only be described as carnal. Both actors took to different sides of the carpet, signing autographs and taking selfies, before being whisked away to their seats by security.
As the two stars entered the theater, they greeted the eager crowd with a booming “Buonasera!,” prompting some fans to shout back in hopes of being noticed. Two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, George Clooney and Brad Pitt have teamed up to star in an upcoming action comedy titled, Wolfs. The actors would be portraying professional fixers hired to cover up a major crime, forcing the two lone wolves to work together. Several news outlets have started releasing rumors about the new movie, but one statement caused the actor himself to respond.
The movie premiered out of competition at the Venice Film Festival, and Clooney utilized the platform to address one viral rumor about the film. Referring to the absurd claim of the lead actors receiving $35 million each as salary, the Insomnia actor stated it was exaggerated. He claimed their actual pay was way less, and the rumor could cause serious harm to show business.

"It's gonna be a long night," Brad Pitt's unnamed "cleaner" wearily observes when things officially go from bad to worse early on in "Wolfs." It's only the first of the film's many winking, self-reverential story beats, throwing back to one of the great cinematic rites of passage for any filmmaker looking to make their own mark on crime thrillers. John Carpenter's "Assault on Precinct 13," Sidney Lumet's "Dog Day Afternoon," and especially Martin Scorsese's "After Hours" perfected the art of throwing every possible obstacle they could think of at their heroes, putting them through the wringer over the course of a single endless day or night. "Wolfs" is writer/director Jon Watts' almost revisionist response to those classics of decades past, with the added bonus of reuniting movie stars Pitt and George Clooney for the first time since the "Ocean's" trilogy and "Burn After Reading."

Wolfs is an interesting reminder of the route writer-director Jon Watts might have taken if he hadn’t fallen into the Spiderverse, being an amplified version of his 2015 Sundance debut Cop Car. That film starred two unknown kids in a kind-hearted crime caper reminiscent of Spielberg in his Sugarland Express days; this one leans into After Hours-period Scorsese, and stars two of the most famous people in the world. Though they have a lot of fun with it, the familiarity of the two graying matinee idols as they bicker and snark through an effortless but also slightly weightless genre romp leaves one with the sneaking suspicion that, at times, they might be having a bit more fun than we are.

Can movie stars stay cool forever?
That seems to be the big existential question underscoring the clever, impeccably directed if rather flimsy action comedy Wolfs, which reunites Brad Pitt and George Clooney, who most memorably chummed it up together in the Ocean’s trilogy. Back then they were two of the biggest actors on the planet, and even an effort like the Coen brothers’ Burn After Reading — which marks their last onscreen team-up — grossed over $160 million while remaining totally offbeat and frankly uncommercial.
More than a decade later, both stars are in their 60s and the movie business clearly isn’t what it used to be. Case in point: Wolfs, which was supposed to be released wide by Apple, will roll out for a one-week limited theatrical run before going straight to streaming. Is it because Pitt and Clooney can no longer draw the crowds they did in their heyday?...

George Clooney has lauded President Joe Biden for stepping down as the Democratic presidential candidate to make way for Kamala Harris, describing the move as “the most selfless thing that anybody has done since George Washington.”
The actor-director appeared at a press event alongside co-star Brad Pitt for Jon Watt’s Wolfs, premiering at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday.
When asked about his recent op-ed for The New York Times titled, “I Love Joe Biden, but We Need a New Nominee” published July 10, Clooney took the opportunity to praise the 81-year-old. “The person who should be applauded is the President who did the most selfless thing that anybody has done since George Washington,” Clooney told the conference.

In December 2021, Jon Watts found himself standing in the back of the Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard on the opening night of his last film, Spider-Man: No Way Home. The entry was one of the first major studio theatrical releases following the pandemic shutdown, and the audience was standing, screaming, crying and generally carrying on in a way that, even for the first showing of a fan-favorite superhero movie, was a spectacle all to itself.
“That was such a specific moment in time, and the reaction to that movie was just so unbelievable,” remembers Watts. It was at this point that the director came to the realization: “It’s never going to be like this, ever again.”
No Way Home went on to gross nearly $2 billion at the global box office, the sixth-highest-grossing film of all time and one of the top Marvel movies, trailing only the last two Avengers films.

Unfortunately, it's time to say goodbye to a few movies leaving Netflix in August 2024, including The Edge of Seventeen starring Hailee Steinfeld.
At the end of every month, there are usually a handful of movies that leave Netflix and head to a different streaming service or cable network. In August, there are more than a few movies that I think people will be especially bummed are leaving Netflix.

Jon Watts' 'Wolfs' was "made it to be seen" in cinemas. The new action-comedy film will only receive a limited theatrical release in the US before it lands on a streaming platform, but Jon has encouraged film fans to watch the movie in a cinema.Jon - who directed 2021's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' - told Vanity Fair: "When we initially made the deal, when I was pitching it to everyone, that was before the last 'Spider-Man' came out. So that was when the entire existential future of theatrical movie going was still up in the air."From that point on, the theatrical experience has really made an impression on me, of how valuable this thing is and how important it is. I always thought of this as a theatrical movie. We made it to be seen in theaters, and I think that’s...

It’s a match made in heaven for a lot of Oscar watchers who are obsessed with actresses (that Venn diagram is a circle). Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton star together in director Pedro Almodóvar‘s upcoming English-language feature film debut, “The Room Next Door.” Both women are Oscar winners — Almodóvar too — but it’s been a while since any of them have competed for the academy’s top honors. We’ll learn more about the film after it premieres at the Venice Film Festival on September 2, but until then, where does it stand in the Oscar race?
Exploring the friendship between Martha (Swinton) and Ingrid (Moore) and Martha’s rift with her daughter, “The Room Next Door’s” highest hopes as of this writing are for its actresses. Moore ranks seventh for Best Actress with 20/1 odds based on the combined predictions of Gold Derby users. She has been nominated...

The Humble Beginnings of a Master Emmanuel Lubezki is one of the most decorated cinematographers currently working, having garnered three back-to-back Academy Awards for Best Cinematography — an unprecedented feat and something of a victory lap for a man who had become highly sought after by the time the 2010s rolled around. Cinematographers often take the back seat compared to the directors they work alongside, but Lubezki has the privilege of both being a gifted cameraman and having collaborated with some of the finest filmmakers in or out of Hollywood: Alfonso Cuarón, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Terrence Malick, Tim Burton, the Coen Brothers, just to name a few. Lubezki started out, perhaps most consistently, as Cuarón’s go-to cinematographer, with their careers basically starting out conjoined at the hip; with Cuarón’s debut feature, ‘Sólo con tu pareja,’ in 1991, Lubezki was unleashed upon the world — only not quite. He would work with...

Summer is far from over, but Netflix fans hoping to plan their next summer movie night should be aware that several excellent movies are leaving the streamer in August 2024. Among them are an Oscar Best Picture winner, a new family-friendly classic, an ambitious historical epic, a clever teen comedy, and a trilogy that brought superhero fever to the big screen before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was so much as a twinkle in Kevin Feige's eye.
Along with the great films listed below, Netflix will also soon say goodbye to several other memorable titles, including the endearing stop-motion movie "Marcel the Shell With Shoes On," the star-studded Coen Brothers caper "Burn After Reading," stoner comedy "Pineapple Express," Jim Carrey favorite "Liar Liar," and recent Film Twitter main character "Miami Vice". Brad Pitt and George Clooney are having an Oceans 11-esque reunion with their upcoming film Wolfs. Directed by Jon Watts, the film sees Pitt and Clooney play rival ‘fixers’ who are hired to cover up the same crime. The action-packed trailer teases their frenemy relationship as well as a quirky and fun black comedy.
While fans were ecstatic to see the duo on screen again, they were also quick to notice the connections between the film’s title and concept and Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. The film features a prominent role from Harvey Keitel who plays a fixer, much like Pitt and Clooney. Keitel’s name in Pulp Fiction was Mr. Wolfe.

Throughout the years, George Clooney and Brad Pitt have teamed up multiple times – not just on Ocean’s Eleven (and the subsequent Twelve and Thirteen), but also on the Coen Brothers’ Burn After Reading. And now, 16 years after that comedic shaggy-dog tale, the duo is back on screen together, teaming up in Jon Watts’ upcoming comedy-thriller Wolfs. That’s a proper movie-movie-star pairing, combining to lead Watts’ return to more grounded territory after helming Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home; his latest film sees Clooney and Pitt play solitary crime scene fixers, who suddenly find themselves having to work together after both being called to clean up the same mess. Watch the trailer here:
Wolfs (it’s going to take a few goes to get used to how that title sounds) looks to be that all-too-rare thing – a film-star-led original studio picture, not originating from any kind of source material.

The fix is in, and it’s lowkey hilarious. For the first time in 15 years, George Clooney and Brad Pitt are together again for the upcoming thriller Wolfs. The film reuintes Clooney and Pitt as rival fixers called into to dispose of a corpse by their shadowy employer, only for the corpse to be far from dead, and in the possession of a massive amount of drugs. Going by the teaser trailer, the film has serious buddy-comedy vibes, mixed with a bit of gunplay and action. With a September 20th release date, a debut at one of the fall film festivals would make sense, with TIFF an obvious choice for that looks to be a star-studded crowdpleaser. Indeed, seeing Clooney and Pitt mixing it up again is fantastic.

While they both provided voices for John Krasinski’s If, we’re considering Wolfs to be the true reunion between Ocean’s and Burn After Reading stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The action comedy also marks Jon Watts’ first non-superhero feature since his breakout with Cop Car and ahead of a September 20 release, the first trailer has dropped.
Here’s the synopsis: “Clooney plays a professional fixer hired to cover up a high profile crime. But when a second fixer (Pitt) shows up and the two “lone wolves” are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected.”
See the trailer below for the film also starring Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan.
Wolfs opens on September 20.

Our eyeballs are in for a treat as Brad Pitt and George Clooney reunite after 16 years for the upcoming action comedy “Wolfs.” The two biggest stars in the world were last seen in the 2008 crime comedy “Burn After Reading.” The spy spoof, which grossed over $163 million from its $37 million budget, was an entertaining ride alongside zany characters.
The dynamic duo is back with a teaser trailer for the action comedy Wolfs from Columbia Pictures and Apple Original Films. In the 39-second trailer, a visibly annoyed George Clooney sits behind the wheel while a fidgety Pitt struggles to sit still, moving the visor and opening the glove box, prompting Clooney to slam the door shut.
Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie as we await the release of perhaps a more extended trailer dropping on May...
