Life in Color is gearing up for a massive ten year anniversary party with their latest lineup announcement. The festival, which lays claim to the title of “world’s largest paint party,” began in 2007 with the vision of combining colorful paint and the then burgeoning Edm scene in Florida. Now, to celebrate a full decade’s worth of paint splattered festivities, Life in Color has tapped some of the biggest names in dance music for their 2017 lineup.
The lineup boasts a number of impressive acts from the Edm realm, including Diplo, Marshmello, Tritonal, Seven Lions, Ookay, Mija, Doctor P and Carnage, with a few names from hip hop sprinkled in for good measure. The upcoming event will feature two stages, and it looks like the organizers are going all out to ensure that 2017 will be a landmark year for the festival.

This year was supposed to have taught us that we should make it all about the music, but apparently it’s still just all about who you know. A post to Life In Color (Lic)’s website announced “Rise Up” by Solano as the official anthem of the paint party tour’s 2016 edition – but conveniently failed to mention that the Miami-based artist is the CEO’s brother.
Indeed, David Solano is the sibling of none other than Lic Founder and CEO Sebastian Solano. When the latter brother first enlisted him to play private house parties in 2006 he still went by the stage name DJ Climax, and curiously, even though he now goes by his family name alone he no longer seems to embrace any connections to his brother. When asked by Your Edm how he got involved with Lic in 2014, he explained, “I met the head guy just going to...

A bankruptcy court has granted SFX Entertainment initial access to $80 million of a loan totalling $115 million. The Edm conglomerate (which owns companies like Disco Donnie Presents, Life in Color and Miami Marketing Group) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week, and the loan marks the first steps towards a companywide restructuring as laid out in its proposed restructuring agreement.
SFX Entertainment’s stock value fell from $13 per share to less than a dime per share in less than three years following its initial public offering – due in no small part to CEO Robert F.X. Sillerman’s erratic mismanagement of the company’s numerous assets. In the next 60 days Sillerman will resign as CEO to serve as chairman – and as the company moves to fill his position, chief restructuring officer Michael Katzenstein will act as interim CEO.

Sources indicate that Edm conglomerate SFX Entertainment has at last filed for bankruptcy. After a steady decline in stock value since its 2013 Ipo which dovetailed into a disastrous 2015, the company is said to have filed a petition with a bankruptcy court under chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code as the first step towards arriving at a restructuring agreement.
Founded in 2012 by entertainment mogul Robert F.X. Sillerman, SFX Entertainment’s board of executives intended to more or less monopolize the rapidly growing Edm industry by buying up brands such as Disco Donnie Presents, ID&T and Life In Color. Insiders widely chalk up the company’s decline to mismanagement of its numerous assets, and while it’s difficult to quantify how such a turn of events will affect the market, a contraction of sorts is sure to follow.

Much larger in sponsorships, this year's Napa Valley Film Festival (November 11-15) has become so popular that the main road between Napa, Yountville, St. Helena and Calistoga is jammed and the smaller theaters are playing to Sro crowds. The St.Helena Cameo Cinema is the longest running single screen theater in the United States, going back to 1913 and “featuring 400 seats, 150 opera chairs, a modern stage and two standing sets".
Culinary, wine and film mix well here. This year we were invited to dine with second-generation vintner Ron Nicholsen, at his estate, Kelham Vineyards, where chief Tyler Rodde from Oenotri, the southern Italian restauranteur from the town of Napa served us his finest food. And at every screening, the best of wines are tasted, In the morning we could (and I did once) practice yoga on the vineyard banks of the river running through the valley. Afternoon and evenings wine pours freely and people mix as they go to movies or to the parties and receptions. My big discovery was White Stone Wine grown on the shores of the mighty Lake Roosevelt in the shadows of Whitestone Rock. I award it for its white chalky stone accent on its bold red wines.
Jury and audience awards were given to the winners at the Uptown Theatre on Sunday, November 15, 2015. The Festival had screened 120 new independent films in 12 unique screening venues in the four postcard-perfect towns of Napa, Yountville, St. Helena and Calistoga.

In light of a disastrous fiscal quarter that followed an only slightly less disastrous year, SFX Entertainment has appointed Life In Color Founder & CEO Sebastian Solano the new CEO of TomorrowWorld parent company ID&T/Made Event. The news accompanies other recent statements indicating that SFX is resorting to desperate measures to ensure the solvency of its brands – although TomorrowWorld’s organizers still have yet to announce any kind of investigation as to the actual causes of the transportation issues that endangered thousands of the festival’s attendees.
Since both Life In Color and ID&T are owned by SFX, the re-appointment would seem like something of a lateral move if not for the fact that Solano cites ID&T’s Duncan Stutterheim as his primary inspiration. Solano told Billboard that shortly after learning about global party tour Sensation, a friend invited him to one of Tallahassee’s Day Glow...

At first, it was the release of a cryptic Instagram puzzle to tempt fans. Now, Life In Color has dropped their lineup in full, and may we say, it’s stacked. Taking place over Martin Luther King weekend, the World’s Largest Paint Party will return to Sun Life Stadium in Miami on January 16th.
Amongst the electronic armada will be Jack Ü, Steve Aoki, Moska, Zeds Dead, Flosstradamus, and more; they’ve even thrown in a bit of R&B with performances by Troy Boi and Big Sean. Especially considering Justin Bieber’s recent announcement of a new collab with Skrillex, this festival might very well see some unreleased material.
Tickets for the World’s Largest Paint Party are available now via Ticketfly, but this lineup is already turning heads, so be sure to swoop them fast.
