Featured review
As the old saying goes, there are two sides to every story. This Brad Lachman-produced hour-long 90210 special gives us a look at well, "Our Favorite Moments". Being a HUGE Beverly Hills 90210 fan, I watched it and taped it (ahem...) and it was really good. Of course, this version of on-set antics was the version we were fed by cast and crew who were paid to appear in this.
It was great seeing Jason, Tori, Jennie, Ian, Vincent, Tiffani, Luke, Brian and Aaron talking about life on the set of what was once "The Coolest Show In The World". Tiffani talks about her fulfilling role as bitchy Valerie Malone; Luke and Jennie discuss their good relationship; Ian reveals that he is a practical joker and we find out that Aaron's fave 90210 moment was daughter Tori's speech about condoms (how biased!)
It *was* pretty cool travelling down Memory Lane (despite it's short and sweet stops at 1990, 1991 etc.) and seeing the casts' ever-changing clothes and hairstyles (with the exception of Jason, of course!).
Of course, the show was much-publicised for it's tension between cast members and temper-tantrums, all of which are denied in this behind-the-scenes Bev Hills special. Aaron Spelling says "Shannen was NOT the 'bad girl' that the trash papers publicised so much"... OK, so how do you then explain the completely different version of events given to us in the recently-made 'True Hollywood Story: Beverly Hills 90210'?
Anyway, this special is a must-see for hardcore and softcore 90210 fans alike... even if you've only seen a few seasons.
