Design for Living

What a frightful trio we have here in Noel Coward's witty comedy - Rula Lenska as Gilda, impetuous, self-centred, beautiful, enchanting; Clive Arrindell as Otto, hysterical, pre-occupied, dim; and John Steiner as Leo, detached, unfocused, and devoted.

The trio act and speak like no one ever does in reality - and so the three actors make Coward's lines sparkle, although they could tone down on the yelling at each other all the time.

Still, this play is a fair attempt to catch a not altogether easy to manage story, and there's good support from John Bluthal and Dandy Nichols.
