In short, no, she is not. It is clearly stated that Lucrecia, not Jenova, is Sephiroth's birth mother. This is confirmed, however, only if you are able to meet Vincent. When you meet Vincent in the Shinra basement, he states that Lucrecia is Sephiroth's mother. He also states, however, that
the theory of Jenova being Sephiroth's mother is not incorrect. This makes it very confusing. The only way to clear this up
completely is to meet Lucrecia in the lagoon near Mt. Nibel. Vincent has a flashback suddenly of how he let Lucrecia fall in love with Hojo. Lucrecia makes it very clear that Sephiroth is her son. She also states that, although she wanted to die, "the Jenova inside of her" wouldn't let her.
At the end of the second disc, the party runs into Hojo for the final time. Hojo reveals that he is Sephiroth's father. His claim is backed up by Vincent's flashback earlier, showing Hojo and Lucrecia fall in love with each other. He also claims that, while Sephiroth was still in the womb, they injected Jenova cells into him. This is where the theory of Jenova being his mother is brought up. This is also what Lucrecia means by "the Jenova inside of me."
No, however, in a sence yes. This can be explained as the game progresses, while biologicaly Lucrecia and Hojo are the parents of Sephiroth, what drives Sephiroth to do what he does, and what makes his physical prowess so unqiue is the Jenova cells in him. So Lucrecia gave birth to Sephiroth, Jenova made him the man we see in the story.

Jenova is an alien organism that crash-landed onto the planet approximately 2000 years before the events of the game. Jenova's
only goal was to destroy all life, so it appeared as a Cetra and joined the race of Ancients. When it gained their trust, Jenova gave
most of the Cetra a virus, turning them into viscious monsters. The planet created a solution to destroy Jenova, which was Weapon.
However, the few remaining Cetra was able to defeat Jenova and entomb it into the Earth.
About 2000 years later, a Professor of science named Gast discovered Jenova within the Earth. Jenova was still in it's human form, so Gast mistook Jenova for an ancient. Jenova was stored at the Nibleheim reactor and used for experiments. Much is still unclear with Professor Gast and Jenova, but we do know that Gast revealed that he made a terrible mistake regarding Jenova. Although it is never clarified what the mistake was, it is highly plausible that Gast saw the awesome power of Jenova, and realized it was not of this planet.
It should be greatly noted that Jenova can take on any shape or form. Anyone who's seen John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) will understand how Jenova does this. This is proven by the various encounters with Sephiroth during the game. When we first meet him, he appears on the cargo ship, but suddenly transforms into a monstrous Jenova-like creature. Once defeated, it reverts back to it's original form, which is Jenova's arm. The next two times Sephiroth also turns into a Jenova creature. This proves that the Sephiroth that the group chases throughout the game is not Sephiroth himself, rather Jenova's body parts shaped into Sephiroth. After the fight with Jenova-DEATH, Cloud reveals that they haven't been chasing Sephiroth the whole time.

2000 years ago: An Ancient race of people known as the Cetra were migrating North in order to find the Promise Land, a land of paradise and pure happiness. During their migration, an alien organism crash-landed on earth. The alien soon became known as Jenova, or the "Calamity of the skies." Jenova appeared as a human in order to gain the trust of the Cetra, but soon revealed
its monstrous form and turned the Cetra into a race of monsters. The planet then created the creatures known as Weapon in order
to destroy Jenova. However, a small remaining group of Cetra was able to defeat Jenova and confine it within the Earth. Weapon
was no longer needed, and they all went to rest somewhere within the planet.
About 2000 years later, approximately 30 years before the events of the game: Professor Gast goes on an excavation and discovers Jenova. Still somewhat in human form, Gast mistook Jenova for an ancient. He decided to use Jenova for experiments in hopes to revive the ancient race, now thought to be destroyed. Jenova was stored in the mako reactor in Nibelheim. Professor Gast soon learns the error of his ways, discovering that Jenova was not an ancient at all, and that his experiments on human subjects only caused them to turn into viscious monsters. Gast soon flees into exile, and Hojo takes his place. Hojo has a baby with a woman named Lucrecia, whom Vincent Valentine is actually in love with. They offer their baby to the Jenova Project and inject Jenova cells into the baby while it was still in the womb. The baby is born, and is named Sephiroth. Vincent confronts Hojo, but Hojo shoots and kills Vincent. He then uses Vincent as an experiment, making him immortal and gives him the ability to change into fearsome creatures.
Professor Gast meets the last remaining Cetra, named Ifalna. While during their time of research, they fall in love and have a baby named Aeris (Aerith). When Aeris was just a baby, Hojo and his men find Gast and kill him, taking Ifalna and Aeris with them. Ifalna somehow escapes, though critically injured. They end up on the Sector 7 train platform, and Elmyra finds both Ifalna and Aeris. Elmyra agrees to Ifalna's dying wishes and adopts Aeris as her own daughter.
A few years later: Cloud Strife was always a loser and weakling in his town and desperately wanted Tifa and her friends to accept him into their group. However, Tifa's mother dies and she decides she wants to cross through Mt. Nibel. Her friend bail, but Cloud follows her. On the bridge, Tifa slips and starts to fall. Cloud rushes to her, but cannot save her and they both fall. Cloud was virtually unscathed, but Tifa slipped into a coma for seven days. Cloud, blaming his weakness, started getting into fights. He soon decides he wants to join the elite force SOLDIER and asks Tifa to meet him out at the well one night. Though they barely know each other, they make their promise.
Two years later: Cloud never made it as a SOLDIER. He befriended a Soldier in first class named Zack, who also became friends with Sephiroth. They go on a mission to the make reactor in Mt. Nibel, and the mission unfolds as Cloud explains. Sephiroth goes beserk, burns the town, and kills everyone in the town. Tifa follows Sephiroth, only to find her father dead. She attempts to attack him, and get's nearly killed in the process. Zack attempts to attack Sephiroth in Jenova's lair, but is also unsuccessful. Cloud, filled with rage, takes Zack's sword and stabs Sephiroth, leaving him to die. He tends to Tifa, but Sephiroth still lives. He rips off the head of Jenova and takes it with him. Cloud runs to finish Sephiroth off, but Sephiroth instead impales Cloud. But with his last burst of energy, Cloud picks up Sephiroth and throws him into the lifestream. Sephiroth travels through the lifestream and ends up within a mako rock in the Northern Cave.
Tifa is rescued by her instructer and taken to Midgar. Cloud and Zack are taken by Hojo for furthur experiments. Nibleheim is rebuilt and actors are put into place to cover up the entire incident. Zack and Cloud are put into containers in the Shinra Mansion basement and stay there for a number of years.
During their years in the mansion, Barrett's hometown is destroyed by the Shinra. Shinra blamed an explosion at the Corel reactor on a rebel faction known as Avalanche. Barrett loses his wife and his best friend Dyne. In the process of saving Dyne, Barrett's arm gets shot and is rendered useless. He adopts Dyne's daughter Marlene as his own and replaces his prostetic arm with a gun. He moves to Midgar and meets Tifa at her bar. He also meets Biggs, Wedge and Jessie, and revives the Shinra-resistance group: Avalanche
Zack escapes from the Shinra basement and takes Cloud with him. Being so weak, Cloud is in a catatonic state. Zack still drags his friend with him, and they hitch a ride to Midgar in the back of a truck. Zack tells Cloud the story about the Nibelheim incident, Sephiroth and Jenova. Being in the state he's in, Cloud confuses Zack's story with his own memories, and Zack's stories soon become Cloud's memory. Zack gives Cloud a SOLDIER 1st class uniform. They arrive on the outskirts of Midgar, but are attacked by Shinra Soldiers. Zack is shot to death, but they leave Cloud because they feel he is useless anyway. Cloud takes Zack's sword and heads to Midgar.
Cloud manages to find himself at the Sector 7 train station where he runs into Tifa. He tells Tifa the story Zack told him, only putting himself in Zack's place in the story. Tifa knows something is wrong, because Cloud knows things he shouldn't and doesn't know things that he should. She tells him about her bar and about Avalanche and he agrees to go with them on a mission to bomb the Mako Reactor.

When Final Fantasy (the original) was release it was the same in Japan and the States, but the next Final Fantasy to come stateside was actually an easier version of Final Fantasy IV not the orginal II. The next game to be released stateside, named Final Fantasy III is actually japan's Final Fantasy VI. With VII being a worldwide release Squaresoft (not Square-Enix) decided to keep it as Final Fantasy VII as to not cause confusion. After that Final Fantasy titles were released under the correct numbers.
Also Square-Enix has released the "missing titles" in various collections.

No you cannot. The director of Final Fantasy 7 stated that he intended for Aeris to die by Sephiroth's sword. The rumors on the Internet that claim you can bring her back to life are false. You can however play as Aeris in disc 1 until the Temple of the Ancients event, but after that Aeris will die near the end of disc 1.
Yuffie is located in the forest of Junon or Gongaga. You will encounter her in a random battle. After you defeat her, you have to answer the questions in the correct order or she will run away, then she joins your party for the rest of the game.
Vincent is located in the village Nibelheim inside the basement of Shinra mansion. First you have to find the lock combos to open the safe but you will fight a boss called Lost Number. After defeating the monster, you will receive the Odin Materia and the basement key. He located in the secret basement, sleeping in his coffin. You have to keep talking to him in order for him to join your party.

There are 2 ways to get a Gold Chocobo. After the lifestream sequence, Cloud will finally join your party again and at that point, you can either choose to take a Chocobo breeding sidequest which will take alot of time, money and luck.
The second way is to wait later on and defeat Diamond Weapon and then Ultima Weapon which opens the way to ancient forest, then you have to prepare your party to defeat Ruby Weapon which is a super hard boss to beat. But it can be beaten by using the enemy skill ???? and many dazer items. Once you defeat him, you get the Desert Rose item which can be traded back at Kalm village for a Gold Chocobo.
You can use this Gold Chocobo to obtain Materia like Mime, Knights of the round, Quadra magic, HP<->MP that cannot be reached by airship.

First you need to find an Enemy Skill yellow Materia. Then you need to equip it on your character, to learn all of the Enemy Skill spells, you need to enter a random battle with the certain monster that casts the spell. Once the spell hits that character, you learn it automatically, Sometimes you need to use Manipulate on the monster to learn the spell easier. Also you'll need to use L4 Suicide on a level 16 Chocobo to get the Chocobuckle spell.
There is a total of 4 Enemy Skill Materias located in the game, the first one is at 67th floor of the Shinra Headquarters, the second one is in the intermediate level training hall in Upper Junon, the third is In the room in the Forgotten Capital, and the last one is At the Chocobo Sage's house the green Chocobo has it.
Some of the enemy skills like Matra Magic, ???? and Big Guard, Magic Hammer, White Wind and others will help you early on, if you don't like learning the green magic Materia or Red Summon Materia AP points.
Make sure you don't equip a second materia with the spell already learned or the unlearned spell won't get learned. But if more than 2 enemy skill materias hasn't been learned, then you can get it learned.
Also keep in mind some Enemy Skills can easily be missed like Trine, Which you should wait to fight Goto later on in disc 2 when you have all 4 materias. And Pandora's Box can be learned by Zombie dragons only once.

Get the all Materia and equip it on your weapon or armor slot, (Double Slot is a faster grind) and fight in battles until you master it. Then sell it for 1400000 gil. It is also the best place to grind the AP points is on Mideel Island and you can build up your levels early on in the game.
