It was a moment that should have made President Donald Trump realize, “Oh, it me.”
Trump was under fire Friday after saying he’d spoken with the president of the Virgin Islands — who, as many on Twitter were quick to point out, is actually Trump himself.
Trump was apparently referring to the Virgin Islands’ governor, Kenneth Mapp, when he told the crowd at Thursday’s Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., that he’d recently met with “the president of the Virgin Islands.”

Last week I gave a review of the Suicide Squad movie. This week, I’m talking about my trip to NYC for the premiere.
I got in to the East Coast on 7/31 and stayed with my friends Tam and Kev English over in New Jersey, near to where I used to live. Tom Mandrake and Jan Duursema, who also live in the area, were going to be in town Sunday night before going on a trip so we all got together for a nice meal. Hilarity ensued.
Tom and Jan also gave me a box full of Kros: Hallowed Ground booty. This is stuff that will be going out to our subscribers and it is killer cool.
I took the train into Manhattan on Monday to join my old bud and oft-time editor and my date for the evening, the lovely and effervescent Mike Gold. We were meeting for a pre-festivities lunch.

It's the Season 8 premiere of "19 Kids and Counting" Tuesday (April 1), and lots seems to be in store for the Duggar family this season. New relationships, travel, and of course, probably more babies. And we're finally going to meet Ben Seewald, Jessa Duggar's official suitor.
It was announced that Jessa and Ben had started courting (or, as the Duggars say, "dating with a purpose") in the Season 7 finale, and while we've seen a few pictures of him here and there since then, this episode was our first chance to get to know him. What's he like?
Well, he's just plain adorable. As two of the little Duggars say, "he's a Great guy ... and he's handsome." He's 18, the oldest of a family of seven, and a bit more of a laid-back, people-person than to-the-point, non-gushy Jessa. Both Michelle and Jim Bob are learning how to handle their daughter being in a forward-moving relationship.

The announcement also makes him the first openly gay superstar from a major professional wrestling organisation. It was a very brave decision and a very bold one and Darren deserves a lot of credit for doing this.
Several WWE and wresting personalities commented on Darren’s big announcement.
Stephanie McMahon: “Congratulations to @DarrenYoungWWE for being the first openly gay WWE Superstar!”

Actress Karen Black.
I grew up hearing about Karen Black as far back as I can remember. She would pop up on television and my mother would point her out as a compatriot from their college days at Northwestern University, a mixture of pride and wistfulness in her voice as the memories came back. When I finally got the opportunity to sit down with Karen during the summer of 2007, the venerable actress had turned playwright, with a well-received L.A. production of "The Missouri Waltz," a musical for which she penned the book. Black was alternately eccentric, passionate, grounded and fascinating during our chat, her obvious intelligence shining through the entire proceedings.
“Black brings to all her roles a freewheeling combination of raunch and winsomeness,” Time magazine wrote about her in 1975. “Sometimes she is kittenish. At other times she has an overripe quality that makes her look like the kind...

Mike Vogel's Dale "Barbie" Barbara has not had an easy time "Under The Dome" in Chester's Mill, and halfway through the show's Season 1 it seems his lies are finally beginning to unravel. When Zap2it spoke with Vogel at San Diego Comic-Con before the "Under The Dome" panel, the actor said that his character will soon be cornered by his own "cat-and-mouse game."
"Barbie thinks he has his way out, because he only has to cop to a certain amount of the story, and as we'll see in later episodes he eventually runs out of wiggle room," he says. "So you know, he kind of walks that line as much as he can, but he runs out of room eventually."
The audience's first glimpse of Barbie is him burying a corpse out in the woods, and though he quickly grows more likable, that specter follows him around in more ways than one.

Ryan Lochte raced the best swimmers in the world at the 2012 London Olympics, but it's his race against a royal that has everyone talking.
Last weekend, Britain's Prince Harry challenged Ryan to a 2 a.m. race in a Las Vegas pool, and Ryan tells Et, "Even though he was part of the royal family, I wasn't going to let him win."
"His people came over and asked, do you want to meet Prince Harry. And I was like, oh, by all means," ever-polite Ryan tells Et.
He says of racing the prince, "I was like, I better win! That's the only thing that was really going through my mind."
But when it comes to his experience with the prince, Ryan sums it up: "Great guy, really nice, he was just like one of us, nothing was different." (Prince Harry of course made news in Las Vegas for more than just his race against Lochte – photos were published...

StudioCanal have recently released a couple of Amicus Production classics by veteran film director Kevin Connor. The set on offer includes a few of his early classics ranging from the lesser known At The Earth’s Core and Warlords of Atlantis to the cult classic The Land that Time Forgot.
Now available on DVD I somehow found myself in the privileged position of interviewing the 70-something while apparently on his lunch break from filming. He’s obviously still going strong.
It’s my understanding that Milton Subotsky gave you your break in directing because he thought that editors make good directors. How exactly did that come about?
In the early 70’s I optioned a dozen short stories from Chetwynd Hayes entitled ‘The Unbidden’ thinking to make a TV series out of them. Myself and two friends adapted them into half hour films and unsuccessfully shopped them around the TV world.

Jill says she's not angry about being fired from 'Rhony,' but her new Facebook poll says otherwise! Fired reality star Jill Zarin recently claimed she wouldn't be watching the new season of The Real Housewives of New York because she wants to distance herself from drama and arguing. Well, that didn't last long! Moments after the premiere episode of season five aired, Jill posted a poll on her Facebook page asking readers to rate the newest cast members -- and not in a nice way! "WHo was your Least favorite new housewife tonight???" Jill posted alongside a vote box. According to the poll, most of Jill's fans seem to dislike Heather Thompson, then Carol Radzwell and Aviva Dresher. Even if Jill feels slighted about being replaced, such catty behavior is completely immature and uncalled for! What do You think about Jill's poll? Do you think she's bitter about being fired?...

Celebrities Pay Tribute To Tragic Junior Seau
Singer Nick Lachey and actresses Gabrielle Union and Holly Robinson Peete have paid tribute to tragic American football legend Junior Seau following his death from an alleged self-inflicted gunshot wound on Wednesday.
Police in Oceanside, California were called to the sportsman's home following reports of a shooting incident inside the property, where his girlfriend had found Seau unconscious in bed with a gunshot wound to the chest.
A firearm was found nearby and cops are investigating the 43 year old's passing as a suicide.
Tributes have poured in from friends, colleagues and fans of the football icon, a University of Southern California (USC) star who helped to take his former team the San Diego Chargers to the 1995 Super Bowl. And a number of his celebrity pals have also remembered Seau via Twitter.com.
Peete, whose footballer husband Rodney played at USC with Seau, writes, "Paralyzed with grief over the loss of our dear friend Junior Seau... Husband devastated. I just don't want to believe it. Loved him...."
Lachey tweets, "So sad to hear about junior seau's passing. I loved him as a Trojan (USC player) and got to know him a little over the years. Great guy. rip", while Union, who met Seau while filming in San Diego in 2000, adds: "Deepest sympathies go out 2 the family, friends & fans of JuniorSeau ...great guy who made the 'Bring it On' cast at home at his restaurant 'Seaus' in Sd".
Gladiator star Russell Crowe, Grey's Anatomy hunk Jesse Williams, and Tom Cruise's DJ son Connor have also posted tributes online.

It’s spring training for baseball, a time when even Cubs fans can be hopeful despite knowing that, sooner or later, this year’s team will break our hearts as every Cubs team has done for over a century. Truth is, if the Cubs ever won the World Series, their mystique would be gone. Their legend is based on being losers.
As baseball season is upon us, and tonight is the Academy Awards, I want to look back not only at the game but at my favorite baseball movies. For my taste, there is something better about baseball films than there is in films for any other sport. There’s a duality to it; baseball is played by teams but it comes down to individuals – batter versus pitcher.
So here, in no particular order, are my favorite baseball films. I’m not saying they’re the best but they are...

Today is the day. I’ve been working to finish this movie since 2006. There were moments in the six years since putting pen to page during which I couldn’t make this day out in my future. Not that I considered quitting, that isn’t my style, but I did at times feel like the journey of making this film would stretch into eternity. This is not unprecedented, check out Ellison’s second book or Wendell B. Harris’ second movie.
To avoid that fate I had to take an extreme measure and commit myself to working 12 hours a day 7 days a week until the movie was finished. This change was sparked from a conversation I had with the Orisha through a priestess. The Orisha had a simple message that I took to heart.

After getting the boot from 'Dancing With the Stars,' Chaz told the ladies of 'The View' that the show changed his life! Chaz Bono faced some harsh criticism throughout his Dancing with the Stars run -- first for his sexuality, and then for being overweight! However, Chaz, 42, told The View on Oct. 27 that the negativity was just a "teeny little part of it", and said that the comments were "really miniscule in everything I've gained." So what was his biggest gain from competing on the show? It brought him closer to his mom Cher! "My mom was totally behind me doing this and thought it was great," he told The View. "If anything, I feel like I was finally doing something professionally that she has done and can relate to." Cher was by his side every step of the way, tweeting angrily when the judges insulted Chaz and called him fat.

"Great Guy, Yet: Dead" wasn’t the best outing for Prime Suspect.
Which is unfortunate considering Joelle Carter from Justified was playing Louise, the wife of Tony the victim. Sadly, none of her considerable talent was used, rather she was relegated to tears, denials, potential adultery, and getting on Jane’s nerves. All of that would have been fine had she been given something to work with, but the writing for her character felt flat.
In fact, flat can be applied to the entire case this week. Tony, “the nicest guy in the world,” left behind a boring tale of living a champagne lifestyle on a beer budget, burying himself in debt, and making enemies. A par for the course procedural case, however credit must be given to Prime Suspect for doing something other than a run-and-gun police chase.

As Lieutenant Kevin Sweeney, Aidan Quinn has an unparalleled view of Prime Suspect. The man knows what's going down in his precinct.
Therefore, viewers can trust the veteran actor when he tells them to tune in for tonight's "Great Guy, Yet: Dead." Why?
"It features a case you haven't seen anywhere before," Quinn told me on the phone. "It's plucked from the annals of a real-life homicide on the streets."

Prime Suspect is growing into a hit for NBC, which ordered six additional episodes of the drama this week.
Through the first few weeks of the freshman series, Quinn's lieutenant has appeared to have a soft spot for Maria Bello's Jane Timoney, but that's not exactly how the star sees it.
"He's simply interested in detectives that can get the job done," Quin says, adding that he doesn't view the other officers'...

Spoiler TV was invited by the USA Network to attend a Q&A with Gabriel Macht, one of the stars of their new hit show "Suits".
It was a very busy Q&A session with lots of people trying to get a chance to ask questions, unfortunately some people did not get a chance to speak to Gabriel. I was lucky enough to get to ask one question. He was a really cool guy, seems to have a real passion for his job and really loves working on Suits. He was very appreciative when talking to us when we complemented him on his work which is always nice to hear from people we watch and admire.
Below you can find a sample audio of the question I asked and the full transcript from the Q&A session. Beware there are some spoilers for the next 2 episodes with Gary Cole and Chi McBride.

00:00:00: Death Race 2, also known as Death Race: Frankenstein Lives, is the direct to DVD prequel to 2008's Death Race, which was allegedly a prequel to 1975's Death Race 2000. It's not a video game movie, but it damn well should be. Death Race 2 gives us the backstory on the character Frankenstein, the mysterious metal-faced driver who died in the first scenes of Death Race. I don't want to type the word Death Race anymore. Our Blockbuster gift card was sacrificed to the lone rental store still located in Burbank. I pulled and pulled on the handle, wondering why the hell the store was closed at 9 Pm on a Tuesday. That's when the employee gestured that it was a Push door. I had finally entered the proper level of mental mediocracy to appreciate this fine piece of cinematic entertainment. On Unrated Blu-ray no less.

As I’m oddly fond of sequels that don’t have much to do with the original film, here’s a disconnected sequel to this article. Oh, and I’d like to make it clear that characters from Last House on the Left and I Spit on Your Grave naturally belong on both lists, but I didn’t feel like getting into the rape-revenge subgenre.
You list one of those flicks, you might as well list ‘em all. Well, maybe that’s being a tad unfair – rape-revenge isn’t the only portion I’m avoiding. The August Underground characters ought to be listed, and that guy from Hostel that made me laugh my head off when he slipped on the blood and chainsawed his own leg… Clearly I’m conflicted. So with that out of the way, let’s make with the hatin’ that I prepared before writing this introduction.

So Tyson is out, but what about John Travolta who Stallone directed in "Staying Alive"? "No, don't think so. And I really love John. Great guy," he replied to a fan's comment. Stallone goes on to joke that his friend Ryan Seacrest would be perfect for the sequel. "Ryan Seacrest is not want you think," Stallone wrote. "He is Tough as S---! He is in Ten times better shape than Jean-Claude Van Damme and would most likely whip him. Seriously! He would definitely take out Jet Li,...

Not too long ago I watched Kamome Diner, a pleasant little film made by female director Naoko Ogigami. I was pretty taken with that film and it sparked enough interest to seek out more of her work. First in line was her feature length debut, Yoshino's Barber Shop, a sweet-looking comedy featuring the down-tempo atmosphere of the Japanese countryside. Lucky for me it proved to be every bit as good as expected.
Some directors are able dazzle you with their talent and completely screw up the next film, others produce a constant stream of quality work without ever blowing any fuses. Even though it's a little early to make a definite judgment, Ogigami seems to fall into the latter category. She doesn't really give me the impression that she can create a true masterpiece, on the other hand I won't expect to see anything less than great coming from her.
