A routine hour-long porn grinder from the golden age, "Melissa's Inside Straight" was revived on DVD by two competing companies, a practice now becoming almost standard with newer labels like Vinegar Syndrome plowing the same archival ground pioneered by such laudable folk as SWV's late Mike Varney.
Stick with Something Weird for this one, as the New Jersey label After Hours Cinema (the edifice that Misty Mundae's popularity built) have ruined the feature by dropping its original music track (pirated songs) in favor of their generic garage score.
The six sex scenes culminating in a de rigeur (for the time) orgy are part of an uninteresting narrative: beginning with a couple on a water bed and segueing to a poker game. Combination of improvised patter and mechanical sex is standard procedure but doesn't hold up well four decades later. Distinctive starlet Tricia Opal is briefly diverting, showing up as the dealer for the poker game, wearing a bikini.
Main plot of a guy cuckolded goes nowhere, leaving poker, traditional style (Texas Hold 'em was not popular yet when this was shot) the most memorable aspect of the movie.
