Review

  • Not as funny as some of the other episodes, this one concentrates on Danny's recent widowhood and his love for Pam. The guys find themselves without any kid responsibilities for the first time. Joey and Jesse want to go out with women, but Danny wants male bonding. Because the others are sensitive to his grief, they choose the male bonding.

They go fishing on this trip. Danny is a little disappointed when women show up. Jesse's old girlfriend is making the moves on him while Joey has two girls. They all fish together and catch lots of fish - all but Danny who doesn't get a bite.

After their fishing, they all go back to the house. The captain of the boat, a lovely woman, wants to date Danny, but he turns her down. Meanwhile, Jesse is hung up about the fact that his girlfriend is famous while he's not. It's surprisingly Joey who helps them see reality.

There is some comic relief in this episode. Danny goes overboard. Joey jumps in after him while Jesse takes his time taking off everything not waterproof before going in after them.

References are made to Scooby Doo (no surprise there) and The Love Boat theme song is sang by Danny and Joey. Joey compares himself to Alf.
