Review

  • Rather unoriginal and somewhat unrealistic (especially towards the end). Good direction and cinematography. Excellent acting by the protagonist (the very young looking Ricardo Darin) and an outstanding supporting cast. Although the script refers to the 90's feverish speculation that finally sunk the Argentine economy in 2000, the film is not specifically Argentine; one can easily imagine it (with different actors) as an American TV movie.

Although Darin has been in movies and TV series since 1969, "Perdido por Perdido" is possibly the first movie that put him on the map as a serious actor. He has been since a constant presence in many of the best Argentine movies such as "Nine Queens" (2000), "Son of the Bride" (2001) and the Oscar winner "The Secret in Their Eyes" (2009).
