Marthilia Svarna is a Greek theatre and film actress, professional choreographer, musician, and writer.
Dedicated to the stage, Marthilia moved to the UK and studied Classical Ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance. Pursuing a performing career, she studied BA in Musical Theatre and Performing Arts and played in musicals in London and Essex. In 2016-2017, Marthilia honed her acting and directing skills in Metaxourghio and Rabbithole Theatres in Greece.
In 2018, Marthilia Svarna got into The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute Los Angeles to study Method Acting. In California, not only did Marthilia divide her time between theatre and screen but she also tried her hand at writing and directing. She wrote and shot her first short film "Allowed" and wrote the play "Our Basement" which premiered at Marilyn Monroe Theatre in West Hollywood. Having returned to Greece, Marthilia translated the play and adapted it to the Greek audience.
Since 2019, Marthilia Svarna starred in short films ("Your House Is Steady" (2020), "Fools" (2020) as May), feature films ("Man of God" (2021) as Euphemia), and on TV ("Instanbul Homicide - Sand in the Sea" (2020), "Radio Operator" (2020) as Maria, "Ase mas re mama" (2021) as Nadia) - both in Greece and in Los Angeles, CA. For her performance as May in Jimmy Prosser's "Fools", Marthilia received the Outstanding Achievement Award for Best Acting Duo (IndieXfest LA), Bronze Award for Best Acting Duo (Independent Shorts Awards USA), and Grand Jury Prize (London Indie Short Festival 24frames). In the Man of God, Marthilia starred together with Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke, Russian star Alexander Petrov, and Greek actor Aris Servetalis.
Apart from acting and directing, Marthilia finds inspiration in signing, songwriting, writing and has recently published a collection of poetry.
