The Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox is home to a variety of unique horror content, from originals and exclusives to cult classics and documentaries. With such a rapidly-growing library, there are many hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Alongside exclusives like Secret Santa and Night of the Missing and such classics as Black Christmas and Silent Night, Deadly Night 2, here are five Christmas horror recommendations you can stream on Screambox right now.
Christmas Evil
Not to be confused with the innumerable Santa slashers, Christmas Evil (also known as You Better Watch Out) is tonally more in line with Taxi Driver than Silent Night, Deadly Night. Writer-director Lewis Jackson clearly had no interest in making a body count flick; instead, he explores the psyche of a mentally unstable man who happens to dress up as Santa and kill people. The low-budget grit adds to the dark atmosphere.

Hello, everyone! This week, we only have a handful of horror and genre titles headed to Blu-ray and DVD, but several of these releases are sure to get you into the holiday spirit, including Scream Factory’s 4K release of Mike Dougherty’s Krampus: The Naughty Cut. Rlje Films is unleashing Creepshow: Season 2 on both Blu-ray and DVD (with the Creepshow Holiday Special included), and if you’re still looking to enhance your holiday spirit even more, there’s always the indie Christmas-themed anthology 13 Slays Till X-Mas coming to Blu-ray, too.
Other home media releases for December 7th include Werewolves Within (one of this writer’s favorite movies of 2021), Blue Monkey, and Broadcast Signal Intrusion.
13 Slays Till X-Mas
On December 24th, five seemingly random men are invited to a dive bar by a mysterious e-mail. They decide to pass the time by resurrecting the old tradition of telling scary stories on Christmas Eve.

There have been quite a few choice rules when it comes to what you can and can't do in a horror movie. We all fondly remember a fresh faced Jamie Kennedy spouting out specific horror-related rules for when it comes to surviving a horror movie in Wes Craven's genre defining 'Scream' way back in 1996 and since then horror seems intent on showcasing these invariable cliches and conventions and even in some cases creating completely new ones. One thing we have learnt however is what to avoid in horror. Don't run up the stairs to try and escape, don't say you'll be right back and certainly 'don't f#ck in the woods'! And writer/director Shawn Burkett certainly hasn't shied away from that last rule with his new project which isn't pulling any punches whatsoever. Don't F#Ck In The Woods is the awesomely memorable title of his...
