CAA is continuing to build out its gaming contingency with the signing of popular YouTube channel Game Grumps.
The seven-year-old content brand, which is fronted by hosts Arin Hanson and Dan Avidan, comprises a YouTube channel (5.2 million subscribers) and other social platforms that count 11 million collective followers. CAA will rep the comedy and geek-focused content brand -- perhaps best known for its ‘Let’s Plays’ -- in all areas, including television, film, digital distribution and partnerships, endorsements, publishing, and more, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In addition to their video content, Game Grumps will embark on a nationwide tour this month that has already vended 30,000 tickets. Last year, they developed Dream Daddy, a gay dating simulator game that sold 300,000 copies. They also operate a robust merch business, per the Reporter, and produce an indie comic book with the Portland-based publisher Oni Press. In 2017, Game Grumps starred in a scripted YouTube...

Two of the most popular creators on YouTube are ready to get their game on. Game Grumps, the channel hosted by wisecracking players Arin Hanson and Dan Avidan, has shared the trailer for its upcoming series Good Game, which will arrive for YouTube Red subscribers on August 30.
In Good Game, Hanson and Avidan will portray a pair of couch potatoes who decide to take charge of their lives by participating in a fictional e-sports tournament called "Blood Match." In order to vie for the title, they must first cobble together a team of misfits who can match the skills of the competition's robotic, precise favorites. The conceit sounds a lot like Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, but with a modern day twist that could attract viewers from one of the entertainment industry's most passionate communities. Comedy nerds will also dig the presence of Community and Rick & Morty's Dan Harmon, who...

YouTube Red has just ordered a handful of new series for audiences to watch. They include a sequel series to the teleportation thriller Jumper, which Doug Liman is attached to direct; a time-travel series from Dwayne Johnson tentatively called Lifeline; and an eSports series from Community creator Dan Harmon.
The Jumper sequel series is called Impulse, and it's based on the third novel in the Jumper book series. The story for it centers on "a rebellious 16-year-old girl, who has always felt different from her peers and has longed to escape from her seemingly quaint small town. When a local drug dealer attempts to assault her, she discovers her extraordinary ability to teleport. This newfound power confirms her conviction that she really is different from everybody else, but it now makes her the focus of those who want to control her."
This sounds like it could be a fun series.

The new series is drawn from the third book in the Jumper series by sci-fi writer Steven Gould and follows a young girl - the original protagonist’s daughter - as she discovers her ability to teleport away from danger.
YouTube has commissioned the drama alongside Universal Cable Productions (Ucp) in a first collaboration together.
Liman and his long-time producer Dave Bartis are attached to the project alongside Lost writer and creator Jeff Lieber, who is adapting the novel.
