Directed by J.J. Perry and starring Dave Bautista, The Killer’s Game is an out-and-out action film with a wafer-thin plot. Joe Flood, considered one of the best hitmen in Europe, decided to take a hit out on himself after he discovered that he was terminally ill. But things took a turn when his doctor informed him that he had been misdiagnosed. Joe was not about to die, but he had already put out a contract, and there was no way to back out now. Marianna Antoinette, Joe’s rival, had contacted the biggest names in the business to take him down, and there was no stopping her. Joe proposed doubling the money he had paid to cancel the contract, but Antoinette had a personal vendetta against Joe, and she refused to negotiate with him. Joe had to deal with the contract killers all on his own. Will he manage to survive?...

A Christian organization called Faithful America has launched a petition that demands the impeachment of conservative U.S. Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.
The petition, which has already garnered over 7,400 signatures, cites a “corruption crisis” on the Supreme Court and calls on Congress to co-sponsor the articles of impeachment introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York).
Framed as a letter to members of Congress, the petition expresses deep concern over the “unreported gifts from Christian-nationalist activists” and the refusal of justices connected to the January 6 events to recuse themselves from related cases. It reads, “I urge you to co-sponsor newly introduced articles of impeachment against Justices Clarence Thomas and Sam Alito so that we can begin to restore integrity to the high court and usher in a time when justice for all truly does prevail in our nation.”

The New York Times reported on Wednesday that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito flew an “Appeal to Heaven” flag at his New Jersey beach house. The flag’s close association with both far-right Christian nationalists and the insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 raises serious questions about Alito’s ability to rule impartially. The conservative court on which Alito sits is largely the product of right-wing dark-money overlord Leonard Leo, and — wouldn’t you know it — Leo flew the same “Appeal to Heaven” flag outside of his house in Maine.

Picture two protests involving the American flag.
In one of them, a star NFL quarterback kneels during the singing of the national anthem. The reason? To call attention to the true, real plight of Black Americans whose lives seem not to matter as much as white ones — part of the unfinished business of American democracy. For this, he is booed, vilified, and effectively banned from the NFL. He never works as a quarterback again.

At an Alabama judicial conference on Friday, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas responded to the criticism against him and his wife, Virginia “Ginni” Thomas.
Thomas and Ginni have faced public criticism for Thomas’ failure to disclose the extensive lavish gifts he’s accepted from his wealthy conservative friends. Text messages and emails revealed Ginni’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election by appealing to officials and lawmakers. Thomas was found to be involved in several cases related to the 2020 election, including the January 6 Capitol riot.
“My wife and I, the last two or three years, it’s been—just the nastiness and the lies—it’s just incredible,” Thomas said at the conference.
The Supreme Court Justice expressed his disappointment in the current state of the federal courts. He claimed people were seeking sympathetic judges and that the Supreme Court was less stable than it had been in the past.

Conservative activist Leonard Leo was hit with a subpoena from Senate Democrats on Thursday as part of a probe into Supreme Court ethics and whether individuals or groups used luxury gifts to access justices.
The subpoena from the Senate Judiciary Committee arrives months after it was authorized, CNN reported. “Mr. Leo has played a central role in the ethics crisis plaguing the Supreme Court and, unlike the other recipients of information requests in this matter, he has done nothing but stonewall the committee,” Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), the committee’s chairman,...

The Supreme Court heard arguments on Thursday in the case over whether states can toss Donald Trump off their ballots. Much of the discussion centered around a wildly inane legal question: whether America’s president qualifies as “an officer of the United States.”
The case will review Colorado’s decision to disqualify Trump from its ballot on the grounds that he committed “insurrection” by inciting the violent assault on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as lawmakers were preparing to certify President Joe Biden’s electoral victory.
At issue is Section 3 of the 14th Amendment,...

The Joe Biden presidential campaign is positioning the 2024 election as a referendum on democracy. But a new poll suggests that defending America’s constitutional system of checks and balances is no longer an electoral slam dunk.
A startling 39 percent of Americans, including 74 percent of Republicans, think it’s a decent idea for Donald Trump to act as a dictator for a day to begin his prospective second term, according to a University of Massachusetts Amherst survey released Wednesday.
In a series of comments, beginning last December, Trump has said he plans to be a dictator,...

In January 2000, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas told Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Florida) that Congress should be giving Supreme Court justices pay raises.
He even mentioned that if lawmakers did not take action, then one justice or more would resign, maybe in the next year.
He sat next to Stearns on his flight home from Georgia, and the representative exited the conversation fearing that Thomas would resign.
Thomas, who is known for his expensive tastes, was previously staying at a five-star beach resort in Sea Island, Georgia.
He went to this resort to deliver a private keynote speech at Awakening, a “conservative thought weekend” that featured golf, shooting lessons and aromatherapy in addition to panel discussions with businessmen and elected officials.
When Thomas made this statement, his salary was $173,000, which is equal to $300,000 today. However, he was one of the least wealthy court members and was hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.

Exclusive: Jack Kilmer (Palo Alto), Paris Jackson (Gringo), and Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight) are in production in Atlanta on Open Wounds, an indie horror thriller from director Ronald Krauss (Gimme Shelter). Written by Ryan Leeder, Joshua Courtade, and Krauss, the film centers around a fading indie horror studio, its owner Jefferson (Roberts), and his nephew Caleb (Kilmer), a young horror movie obsessive and aspiring makeup f/x artist, who finally gets his “little break” when Jefferson assigns him to work on a B-list movie about a vampire (Notni). It’s unlikely the U.S. Supreme Court would have adopted a code of ethics, as it did this week, without a series of revelations about Justice Clarence Thomas and his appetite for first-class vacations paid for by a wealthy Republican friend. Consider it another example of Thomas’ influence on the Court.
Thomas and his wife Ginni are the subject of the Frontline documentary Clarence and Ginni Thomas: Politics, Power and the Supreme Court, directed by Michael Kirk. The multiple Emmy-winning filmmaker is our guest on the latest edition of Deadline’s Doc Talk podcast.
Kirk’s investigative documentary explores what many consider to be Thomas’ questionable ethics – he did not report on federal disclosure forms that Republican activist Harlan Crow footed the bill for fancy holidays enjoyed by Thomas and his wife, or that Thomas sold a house to Crow in Savannah, Ga, where the Justice’s mother, Leola Williams,...

A conservative judicial activist urged there be “no mention of Ginni” in billing paperwork for consulting payments to Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Documents obtained by the Washington Post, reveal that in 2012 Leonard Leo — an advisor to the nonprofit Judicial Education Project — directed payments to Thomas for unspecified consulting services during a year in which the organization filed a brief before the Supreme Court.
According to the Post, Leo instructed Kellyanne Conway, then a prominent GOP Pollster, to bill the Judicial Education Project “another $25K,...

Clarence Thomas and his wife Ginni raised Thomas’ grandnephew, Mark Martin, “as a son,” as the Supreme Court justice once put it. They sent him to a private boarding school in 2008 and, wouldn’t you know it, conservative billionaire Harlan Crow footed the bill, ProPublica reported on Thursday.
“Harlan picked up the tab,” Christopher Grimwood, a former administrator at Hidden Lake Academy, told the outlet, noting that the GOP megadonor and Nazi aficionado paid the $6,000-per-month tuition for Martin’s entire stay at the school. Grimwood also said that Crow...

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has for more than a decade claimed on mandatory financial disclosure forms that he received significant income from a defunct real estate firm, Ginger, Ltd., Partnership, that has been shuttered since 2006.
This news comes only 10 days after ProPublica reported that the justice has received — but failed to disclose — hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of gifted vacations from conservative billionaire and Nazi enthusiast Harlan Crow. The billionaire also owns the home where Thomas’ mother lives, which Crow purchased from Thomas and members of his family...
