While it’s often Eric André, who ends up getting the upper hand over his guests, things went a little south during his return to Adult Swim back in 2020. After a four-year hiatus, the comedian returned with season 5 of The Eric Andre Show, but unfortunately, his long-awaited return was cut short by a major concussion after a stunt went wrong with John Cena.

Recounting the mishap, for which The Suicide Squad star was not at fault, the comedian recalled that the stunt with the WWE superstar was ill-prepared.

Eric André says he was “racially profiled” and “detained” at the Melbourne Airport after a series of flights from New York City.
In a video posted to Instagram, the comedian and actor said he was “pulled out of a lineup and put in a special line in Melbourne where I was sniffed thoroughly by a dog.”
“It’s one of the many times I’ve been racially profiled at the airport,” André said. “So this is a message for all Black, brown and indigenous people traveling through Melbourne today.”
André then asked his nearly three million followers if anyone had information about the specific police program, or statistics on how many white passengers versus people of color are selected. He also solicited recommendations for a discrimination lawyer in Australia.

After herding rats in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad and standing her ground against corruption and intimidation in Doug Liman’s Road House, Daniela Melchior returns to the action genre for Peter Farrelly’s Balls Up. Melchior will be the female lead in the film, and Eric André will also star. The duo joins Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser in Farrelly’s latest feature, which presents a curious plot.
The story revolves around two American executives who get the boot for sabotaging a client sponsorship and decide to use their free tickets to a professional soccer match. After a few drinks too many, the duo finds themselves on the run while being hunted by every person across the country. Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese of Deadpool & Wolverine fame wrote the script, with David Ellison of Skydance producing alongside Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Andrew Muscato. Wernick and Reese also produce.

When Mel Brooks feature filmmaking debut "The Producers" hit theaters in 1968, it was both a critical/commercial smash and a bit of a scandal. Emboldened in part by the increasing permissiveness of the counterculture comedy era, Brooks pushed the outside of the envelope with a ribald sense of humor he couldn't indulge as a writer for NBC's "Your Show of Shows" and "Caesar's Hour" and outright shredded it by making light of the Third Reich with the film's fictional musical "Springtime for Hitler." Soon after the film's release, he was confronted in an elevator by a woman who told him "The Producers" was vulgar. Brooks fired back, "Lady, it rose below vulgarity."
This, I believe, is true of "Jackass." Created by Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze and Johnny Knoxville, this showcase for a gang of lovable skateboard-culture knuckleheads who subject themselves and each other to a series of physically/mentally...

Tyler Perry penned an op-ed Wednesday speaking out against alleged racial discrimination experienced by his friends, comedians Eric André and Clayton English.
In his column, published in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Perry addresses a lawsuit filed earlier this year alleging that both André and English were unlawfully stopped by authorities at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Earlier this year, Perry and several other actors — including Jamie Foxx, Taraji P. Henson, Sterling K. Brown and Rege-Jean Page — filed a friend-of-the-court brief as part of the suit.
“André and English were targeted and stopped by Clayton County Police Department (Ccpd) officers, several months apart, on jet bridges in Atlanta’s airport while they were steps from boarding their flights,” Perry wrote.
Despite the fact that both men had been cleared by Tsa security, Perry wrote that the comedians were approached by plainclothed police officers and alleged they were targeted because of “the color of their skin.

Less than a year after The Prank Panel debuted on ABC, star Johnny Knoxville is getting a shock that some jokes are just not so funny.

The People's Joker. In The People’s Joker (2022), Vera Drew makes her feverish entrance into the cluttered morass of the DC Comics cinematic multiverse by bursting through a trapdoor. Having garnered recognition as an Emmy-nominated television editor for outré comedians such as Tim Heidecker, Eric André, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Tim Robinson, Drew serves as director, co-writer, editor, lead actress, and cosmic prankster for her cinematic debut. The anarchic DIY spectacle, recently released theatrically after two years in intellectual-property limbo, mines the contradictory supervillain mythologies of the Joker to narrate Drew’s journey of self-discovery as a trans woman in the fractious world of alternative comedy. After Warner Bros. sent a cryptic letter of disapproval regarding the film’s flagrant recontextualization of the Batman franchise a day before its debut at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, it was pulled from the program. In “Trolls Band Together,” director Walt Dohrn says that one of the most important aspects of making sure the film works is determining where and when specific songs should be used. He says the central thing to keep in mind is where they can help move the story forward in a unique way. He then illustrated this using the song, “Sweet Dreams,” as an example. “How do we do that? We have the lyrics, so what we do is just start blocking them in going, okay, this would be a good place for it rhythmically. We just start slowly building it, putting songs in, just rough songs,” he tells Gold Derby during our recent webchat for our Meet the Experts: Film Animation panel (watch the exclusive video interview above).
Even with all the songs that are used, there are still instances of ones that Dohrn really wanted to use...

At just the right moment, the actor holds an arm close to the mouth, and the “vomit rig” does the rest. Dan Aykroyd used such a get-up in 1978 when playing Julia Child, who cut her hand open,...

Wanna feel old? The Trolls franchise is seven this year and brings with it a whole culture of nostalgia for the late ’90s and early ’00s that to anyone under 40 will seem like a million years ago. The rest of us might remember it as yesterday; a moment in time when boy bands sprang up at the rate of one a week, offering different permutations of The Wild One, The Sensitive One, The Sultry One, The Cute One and, inevitably, The Most Famous One That Left and Threw the Whole Project Into Crisis.
Trolls Band Together takes all this as its central thesis, which is a relief after its two hectic predecessors, the first being an origins story, in which the trolls — the psychedelic lovechildren of gonks and Smurfs — must save themselves from being eaten by buck-toothed creatures called Bergens. The Bergens didn’t feature much in Trolls World Tour,...

The Trolls are back! Long-lost siblings reunite and troll magic faces a new obstacle in “Trolls Band Together.” Dynamic duo Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) embark on a new adventure to get Branch’s brothers’ boy band — Brozone — back together to save Floyd (Troye Sivan) from two wannabe superstar singers who secretly leech off of Floyd’s talent.
John Dory (Eric André) catalyzes the reunion of Brozone, who broke up over creative differences when Branch was a baby. The other two brothers — Clay and Spruce — must be tracked down to save Floyd from losing all of his talent to Velvet (Amy Schumer) and Veneer (Andrew Rannells).
An epic soundtrack, complete with a new *Nsync song as well as renditions of old classics and the addition of Camilla Cabello’s voice awaits adventurers ready for “Trolls 3.”

“Trolls Band Together,” the third chapter in the DreamWorks Animation franchise, gets psychedelic with the introduction of new worlds and characters, helped along by some trippy 2D animation from Titmouse. It’s a musical tribute to ’90s boy bands, fittingly enough, as Justin Timberlake’s Branch reunites with his long-lost brothers (known as the family band BroZone): Floyd (Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric André), Spruce (Daveed Diggs), and Clay (Kid Cudi).
But Floyd is kidnapped by pop-star siblings Velvet (Amy Schumer) and Veneer (Andrew Rannells) as part of their nefarious musical scheme.
“With Justin and boy bands as part of the DNA of the Troll universe, it felt like a natural extension, and also, musically and visually, it’s more psychedelic,” director Walt Dohrn (“Trolls World Tour”) told IndieWire. “If you can see my room, I live in a kaleidoscopic, Technicolor, psychedelic world. “Trolls Band Together” is nearly here. And before you rejoin Branch (Justin Timberlake), Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and the rest of the gang (this time in a daring attempt to save Branch’s boy band brothers), why not go behind the scenes of DreamWorks Animation’s latest marvel in this exclusive behind-the-scenes video? You can watch it above.
In the video you can see brand-new “Trolls” universe characters, like the inhabitants of Vacation Island that take on the appearance of floppy puppets. Plus learn more about Rhonda, the psychedelic, sentient bus that transports the trolls on their go-for-broke adventure.
“The best part about working on ‘Trolls’ is the incredible artists that we get to work worth,” director Walt Dohrn says in the featurette. “And pushing this world into new and exciting places.” Earlier in the piece, Dohrn says that he really wanted “Trolls Band Together” to have its own identity and...

“The Marvels” (Marvel/Disney – Nov. 10)

Oscar winner Brie Larson returns as Carol Danvers in this direct sequel to the 2019 “Captain Marvel” movie that opened with $153.4 million and made $426 million just in North America. With that kind of showing, you’d expect a lot of anticipation its sequel, especially with the return of Samuel L. When DreamWorks’ original “Trolls” movie was released, it wasn’t immediately apparent that the studio was launching a musical franchise. The rainbow-bright computer-animated feature boasted a sparkly soundtrack and the voice of Justin Timberlake as grumpy, gray-skinned Branch, but it wasn’t until the sequel — “Trolls World Tour,” released straight to streaming during the pandemic — that the series explicitly embraced its Top-40 ’tude. Now, having survived the rock apocalypse of that film, the saga rewinds to explore Branch’s backstory … as the junior member of a boy band, BroZone, in zero-calorie sugar high “Trolls Band Together.”
If you’re wondering why this is the first you’re hearing that Branch once performed arena concerts — as the diaper-clad “Baby B” — with older brothers Floyd (Troye Sivan), Spruce (Daveed Diggs), Clay (Kid Cudi) and John Dory (Eric André), just imagine how his girlfriend, Queen Poppy (Anna Kendrick), must feel about the news.

After decades spent firmly in the zeitgeist, the pop cultural legacy of "Star Trek" shows up in some unexpected places -- like an episode of Guillermo del Toro's horror anthology directed by "Mandy" filmmaker Panos Cosmatos. In a recent interview with Variety, production designer Tamara Deverell described the process of building the set for "The Interview," an episode of "Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities" that takes place largely inside a hazy, orange, retro-futuristic room.
Fans of "Cabinet of Curiosities" will remember "The Interview" as perhaps the show's trippiest installment. The hour stars comedians Eric André, Steve Agee, and Charlyne Yi, plus actress (and future "Rebel Moon" star) Sofia Boutella, actor Michael Therriault, and screen legend Peter Weller. In what appears to be a curious slow-burn experiment, a group of disparate people -- including a psychic, novelist, record producer, and astrophysicist -- are gathered together in a drug-filled mansion...

Sometimes, good things come with a sacrifice. For pop fans, in the case of ‘NSync reuniting in the studio for the first time in more than two decades, it means that the song they made, “Better Place,” was created for the forthcoming animated sequel Trolls Band Together. But at this point, we’ll take what we can get.

*Nsync have released “Better Place,” the boy band’s first song in over 20 years. The comeback single comes off the soundtrack for Trolls Band Together, the third installment of the Justin Timberlake-starring, animated musical film franchise.
Aptly sharing the message that “When we’re together, you know that we do it better,” *Nsync lean into their pop sensibilities on “Better Place.” Produced by Shellback — who also collaborated with Timberlake for the first Trolls movie — the single features the ’70s-inspired, disco sound that made the first film’s smash hit, “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” so irresistible. As a driving kick drum holds down the bottom, funky guitars and the boy band’s iconic blend of voices provide color over top, with a grooving bass line gluing everything together.

“Who’s ready for a reunion?”
Justin Timberlake is giving Nsync fans a first look at the beloved boy band back in the studio together for the first time in over 20 years.
After it was confirmed earlier today that Nsync will be releasing their first new song in over two decades for the upcoming soundtrack for “Trolls Band Together”, Justin Timberlake — who voice stars in the film as Branch — took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look at how the opportunity arose and the boys recording their vocals for the track, titled “Better Place”.
The clip begins with Timberlake explaining to his fellow members Chris Kirkpatrick, Jc Chasez, Lance Bass, and Joey Fatone that he was seemingly approached to record a song for the animated film, to which he thought would be a good opportunity to reunite his former bandmates.
