Don’t panic. Stephen Sommers hasn’t made another Mummy movie. The Mummy: Resurrected is a new low budget creature feature designed to be in the vein of the classic Universal mummy movies of old.
But just between you and me, it kind of looks like something The Asylum would have produced nearly a decade ago.
It was almost two years ago when Halycon International Pictures announced a slate of films based on classic horror characters under the “Famous Monsters of Filmland” banner. Something must have fallen through with the makers of the magazine that also bears that title because the slate of films was redubbed the “Still Night Monster Movies Series”.
