Soap characters go through changes all the time. You never know what’s going to happen on daytime TV. That was the case for Conner Floyd’s character, Chance Chancellor, on The Young and the Restless. The actor teased that Chance will deal with a big change in the coming week.
Goodbye to the Corporate World
Floyd teased an update about his Y&R character on Instagram. On Monday, October 7, he shared a photo of himself holding Chance’s Law Enforcement Officer badge. Chance was previously working at Abbott-Chancellor. After getting shot, he thought he would have better luck in the corporate world.
However, the business world is just as lethal, albeit figuratively. Chance didn’t fit in with his new position, so he returned to his previous position as Genoa City’s police detective. Chance is needed since there’s been an investigation into Heather’s (Vail Bloom) murder.

As the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic spreads across the United States, a servant named Floyd Monk arrives at the mansion of journalist Jc Horton on remote Egg Island. Played with sly charm by Peter Sarsgaard, Floyd is a newcomer to the household staff. But as the flu cuts the family off from the outside world, Floyd sees an opportunity.
Sheltering in their lavish home, Jc writes fiery articles about urban struggles. But as portrayed by Billy Magnussen, Jc is less a man of the people and more a hypocrite enjoying wealth and luxury. Directors Austin Stark and Joseph Schuman critique such privileged figures through this tale of socioeconomic tension during a health crisis.
Inspired by stories of the privileged fleeing to second homes during Covid, the film raises thought-provoking themes that feel remarkably relevant. Set amid the 1918 pandemic, it draws parallels to society’s inequalities laid bare by recent world events.

From a shady district attorney in “The Batman” to a real-life rapist in “Boys Don’t Cry” and a harrowing disembodied voice in “The Guilty,” Peter Sarsgaard is often known for characters teetering on the edge of morality. But the actor is quick to shrug off any black-and-white labels of good versus evil.
Sarsgaard, who recently appeared in the Apple TV+ series “Presumed Innocent” and now leads the indie “Coup!,” told IndieWire that he’s wary of the villain label despite audiences wanting to classify characters a certain way.
“It’s funny because for me, obviously with ‘Presumed Innocent’ now, to me I’m not a villain in that. I’m just a guy who lives by himself. I’m playing a decent person in that,” Sarsgaard said. “I’m playing a decent person in ‘Memory,’ the movie that I won the Golden Cup [the Best Actor award at the 2023 Venice Film Festival] for. I’m playing a decent person in ‘Dopesick.

For a film that opens with a sepia-toned newsreel montage aimed at situating its plot at a precise historical moment, and includes Upton Sinclair (Fisher Stevens) among its cast of characters, Joseph Schuman and Austin Stark’s Coup! feels strangely dislocated from time. Given that the setting is an island off the mid-Atlantic coast during the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918, this comes off as intentional, if only to a degree. In isolation, as anyone who experienced a Covid lockdown knows, time becomes a strange beast indeed. When we’re cut adrift from the routines of work and social obligation, our sense of historical continuity begins to wink out like a dying fluorescent bulb, and the film’s characters experience the same phenomenon.
Coup! follows an enigmatic rogue, Floyd Monk (Peter Sarsgaard), who passes himself off as a cook in order to gain employment at an island estate a boat ride from New York City.

When President Joe Biden announced on July 21, after weeks of insisting he would stay in the race, that he would be withdrawing from the presidential election and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the 2024 Democratic candidate, most Americans were at least a little bit surprised. But none were perhaps more so than Amy Tripp, an astrologer who goes by the name Starheal on social media. When the news broke, she was busy seeing clients — but “when I got home that evening and saw what was going on on social media,...

Sally El Hosaini and James Krishna Floyd take the helm of Unicorns, a story highlighting the intersecting lives of two unique individuals. El Hosaini has gained acclaim for her portraits of identity in a multicultural Britain, while Floyd penned the insightful script. They’ve assembled an impressive cast led by Jason Patel and Ben Hardy in their first film collaboration.
Hardy plays Luke, a mechanic and single dad residing in working-class Essex. Life has dealt him some tough blows, yet he keeps persevering for the sake of his young son. One night at an underground club, his eyes are drawn to Aysha’s dazzling performance on stage. Played with heartfelt nuance by Patel, Aysha lights up the room as her soulful drag queen persona. What starts as a fleeting encounter leads to unexpected places as Luke realizes Aysha exists as more than just a beauty behind makeup.

Young and the Restless (Y&r) spoilers note that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) recently admitted to Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) that some of her animosity toward Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) was because of how fond Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) has grown toward the new Newman.
Still, is Summer just jealous about Harrison’s connection with Claire, or is she a bit green because of Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) admiration for her new cousin?
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – The Summance Romance Is Red-Hot … Well, Sort Of
Y&R spoilers suggest that Summer has a good thing going on with Chance. Sparks are flying left, right, and center when they are around each other; however, the only problem with their relationship is that the couple has had little screen time as of late
Mainly because Harrison’s kidnapping took center stage in Summer’s life, and her stepson continues to be her priority; rightfully so.

On May 25, 2020, a day that America will certainly remember, a man lost his life in a tragic case of police brutality in Minneapolis. That man’s name was George Floyd. He was suspected of using a counterfeit $20 bill in a store, and when the police came in, they pulled him out of his car and restrained him in a brutal fashion despite the fact that he did not resist nor pose any danger to the officers. Police officer Derek Chauvin held his knee on Floyd’s neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds, and while Floyd kept pleading that he could not breathe, Chauvin did not move his knee even as the medical technicians arrived and even after Floyd stopped moving altogether. It was later determined that Chauvin, indeed, killed him, and he was sentenced to 22 and a half years in prison. The other officers involved were also convicted.

Working out for movies can be rigorous as actors need to make their bodies look good, but one star from Top Gun: Maverick refused to take part. Lewis Pullman, who played Lt. Robert ‘Bob’ Floyd in the Tom Cruise film, opted not to engage in heavy exercise.

He has a logical reason, though. The actor has no qualms about getting fit or taking off his shirt, but his character does not need any of it. In fact, Pullman believed Floyd wouldn’t necessarily do it.

"The City on the Edge of Forever" is often considered the best episode of the series. In it, Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and Spock (Leonard Nimoy) encounter an impossibly ancient stone archway called the Guardian of Forever. The Guardian (Bartell Larue) is so old it has developed consciousness and serves as a time travel conduit for curious historians. Unexpectedly, Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley) runs through the portal — he's hopped up on drugs — and travels instantly to Earth in 1930. Kirk and Spock follow him to ensure he doesn't foul with history.
In 1930, Kirk meets an activist named Edith Keeler (Joan Collins), a kindly soul who speaks out against the growing war efforts in Europe. Kirk falls in love. Spock, however, constructs a widget showing him that only two possible futures can come of their time travel interference. It seems that if Edith Keeler dies in a car accident, it will retain...

Young and the Restless (Y&r) spoilers note that fans were in a frenzy after the Wednesday, May 15th episode, as the closing credits no longer listed Conner Floyd, who plays Chance Chancellor, in the contract section.
Could it be a mistake? It’s important to note that this is the second consecutive week this has occurred, so if it was a blunder, the soap should have rectified it by now. As of this writing, no official statement has been made by either Floyd or the soap, so what exactly is going on?

Y&r spoilers suggest that despite Chance Chancellor once being a major player in the land of Genoa City, he’s likely been demoted to recurring status.
Does this mean that there’s a “chance” Chance could be written out of storylines, all together?...

Portland, Ore. — An arsonist cut through the fence of the gated back lot of a Portland Police Bureau training facility and began setting fire to cop cars. The destruction — occurring in the early morning of May 2 — was brazen: The assailant set fires that engulfed 17 vehicles, including one that grew into a fireball near a large propane tank, before fire crews arrived to douse the flames.
Even days later — as Ppb cops on motorcycles zipped through turns of training course created by orange cones in the lot — the stench of charred plastic hung in the air.

If you don’t have kids, you may not have heard of “Gabby’s Dollhouse.” If you have a preschooler, it has likely become a welcome upgrade from the “Cocomelon” of your child’s nursery school days.
No intended shade at “Cocomelon,” the other monster hit for Netflix in the kids space. “Cocomelon” is simplistic animation set to familiar nursery rhymes — it’s a low lift both in terms of production and consumption. “Gabby’s,” a combination of (a little) live-action and (a lot of) animation, is a child’s entry point into storytelling and imaginative play. There wasn't a more popular or influential (or controversial) sitcom in the 1970s than "All in the Family." Created by Norman Lear, the series was a stingingly hilarious satire of American attitudes as the country adjusted to the post-Civil Rights Movement era and coped with the increasingly unpopular Vietnam War.
The genius of "All in the Family" was Lear's ability to make every single one of his main characters behave ridiculously without becoming full-on caricatures. Archie Bunker (Carroll O'Connor) was an unrepentant bigot, his wife Edith (Jean Stapleton) was a well-meaning ditz, his daughter Gloria (Sally Struthers) was a work-in-progress idealist who went from dopey to fairly sharp as the series progressed, and his son-in-law Michael "Meathead" Stivic represented everything Archie hated about liberals in one preachy package. We all saw a bit of ourselves and the people we have no choice but to call family in the Bunkers, and...

The "Twilight Zone" episode "Come Wander With Me" is probably better remembered for its titular song than its strange, ambiguous story. Unlike many other episodes of "The Twilight Zone," where the twist is thoroughly explained, the ending of this one is left up to the viewer's interpretation.
The episode centers on a cocky young singer called Floyd Burney (played by Gary Crosby), who styles himself as "The Rock-a-Billy Kid" and is scouring the backwoods of the U.S. for old folk songs that he can jazz up and call his own. But when he hears a beautiful young woman called Mary Rachel singing a song called "Come Wander With Me," Floyd is so fixated on capturing the tune that he chases it all the way to his grave. Mary Rachel cryptically says that he does so "every time," trying and failing to persuade him to make different choices. It's part ghost story,...

Floyd Mayweather, a former professional boxer who retired in 2017 with an undefeated record, gave his opinions on rapper Sean Combs a.k.a Diddy’s r*pe allegations. Instead of condemning the rapper, Mayweather defended him, saying, “mistakes happen.” These tone-deaf remarks landed Mayweather in trouble as fans were not ready to let this slide.

Marcel wasn't kidding when he said Archer was no choir boy.
When he first arrived at Gaffney, Archer purposely let a patient lose consciousness so that he could claim an emergency need to do a procedure the patient didn't consent to—and that was the least of his ethical lapses.
But on Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 4, he berated Zola and Maggie for doing an end-run around an insurance company's denial of service to save a patient's life. Seriously?
His stance would have been reasonable if only he hadn't had the past he had. At the very least, he should have referenced it.
Maybe we're supposed to think that now that he's the head of the Ed, he has a different perspective or that he's grown and changed. But he acted high-and-mighty when he's done far worse, and that weakened any point he might have had.

There’s nothing so freaky about “Freaky Tales,” Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s sci-fi omnibus ode to ‘80s cinema nostalgia that takes the definition of “derivative,” packages a bunch of retro cinematic references smugly into winky “you get it, right?” pastiche, and stretches it to its furthest possible event horizon.
The problem with structuring your film around four interlocking chapters, each with its own segueing title card, is if you’re not down with the first, you’ll be counting down the passage of time groaningly until the next. Last time they were behind the camera, Boden and Fleck had decamped their indie roots, including the lovely “Half Nelson” and “Sugar” — films powered by real characters — for the irresistible Faust’s bargain of directing 2019’s “Captain Marvel.” It seems they have not stripped themselves of the MCU’s cheeky, self-reflexive DNA, here writing and directing a film that thinks...

Freaky Tales officially kicked off the 2024 Sundance Film Festival with Pedro Pascal as a soon-to-be-retired fixer and Jay Ellis as NBA All-Star and former Golden State Warrior Sleepy Floyd.
The Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck-directed film received the prime 7 p.m. slot at the Eccles Theater, with the audience giving it a warm welcome. The filmmakers, whose recent credits include Captain Marvel and Masters of the Air, were welcomed back to the festival, where their feature debut Half Nelson screened in 2006 and Mississippi Grind screened in 2015.
“The last time I was here with Mississippi Grind I had to lie to get on an airplane about how pregnant I was. I was so pregnant, and I had to pretend I was less pregnant than I was. And now the person I was pregnant with is here tonight, and she is 8 years old ,” said Boden ahead of the screening to audience applause.

Signature Entertainment has acquired the U.K. and Irish rights to “Unicorns,” the romance drama co-directed by BAFTA nominee Sally El Hosaini (“The Swimmers”) and her long-standing collaborator James Krishna Floyd, who starred in both “The Swimmers” and her directorial debut “My Brother the Devil.”
From a script written by Floyd, “Unicorns” is described as a “visually daring and heartfelt portrayal of modern masculinity” and follows a queer South Asian club performer living a double life who meets a straight, single-father mechanic, with whom unexpected sparks begin to fly. The film stars Ben Hardy (“Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Love at First Sight”), newcomer Jason Patel, Nisha Nayar (“Buddha of Suburbia”), Hannah Onslow (“Empire of Light”) and Sagar Radia (“Industry”).
“We are thrilled to have Signature bring ‘Unicorns’ to U.K. and Irish cinemas where we know audiences will enjoy our unique, timely, but above all entertaining film,” said El-Hosaini and Floyd.

The Andy Griffith Show had to make due without one of their most popular actors in the late Don Knotts. They’d end up trying to replace the Barney Fife role with another actor. One of the they briefly talked about felt it would’ve been a bad idea. And they were right.

Welcome to our review of this year’s Ring of Honor Final Battle pay-per-view, the latest Roh PPV under the auspices of Tony Khan’s ownership, which – despite not having a TV deal – has turned a tide this past year. So with that said, let’s see what went down…
Roh: Zero Hour Match #1: Taya Valkyrie def. Jazmin Allure The following is courtesy of ringofhonor.com:
Taya booted Jazmin and then tossed her across the ring with a straight onslaught. Allure fired back with a forearm. Taya placed Allure on the ropes and hit her with a sliding German Suplex. Taya’s years of experience were too much for Jazmin to handle. Taya superplexed Allure and then stomped Allure’s face, grabbing the pin in the process!
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: The Von Erichs (Ross & Marshall) def. The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) The following is courtesy of ringofhonor.

Artists don’t always appreciate other artists. Quentin Tarantino was a massive fan of Elvis Presley but not The Beatles. On top of that, he preferred a band that’s often accused of copying The Beatles to The Beatles themselves.
Quentin Tarantino rejected The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and many other rock stars
In the 2022 book Cinema Speculation, Tarantino discussed learning about music history from his friend Floyd. “I was all ears about this firsthand rock ‘n’ roll history, because I wasn’t into ’70s white-boy rock,” he said. “I didn’t give a f*** about Kiss, I didn’t give a f*** about Aerosmith, I didn’t give a f*** about Alice Cooper or Black Sabbath or Jethro Tull. I didn’t own Frampton Comes Alive! I openly rejected that entire culture.
“At 16, I think I heard of Bruce Springsteen, but I’d never heard Bruce Springsteen,” he added.

Federal Correctional Institution (Fci) Tucson inmate John Turscak was charged with allegedly stabbing former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin 22 times on November 24.
Turscak is now being charged with attempted murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and intent to murder. The United States Attorney’s Office in Tucson, Arizona, is handling the prosecution.
Chauvin was one of the police officers involved in the murder of George Floyd. Although he was not initially named in the complaint, a law enforcement source confirmed his identity. In the complaint, Chauvin is referred to as “D.C.”
Turscak allegedly crafted a knife to stab Chauvin with. The 52-year-old approached the police officer in the law library and then proceeded to stab him.
Chauvin said he would have been dead if the police officers had not responded as quickly as they did.
After he waived his Miranda rights, Turscak’s story changed.

In “Trolls Band Together,” director Walt Dohrn says that one of the most important aspects of making sure the film works is determining where and when specific songs should be used. He says the central thing to keep in mind is where they can help move the story forward in a unique way. He then illustrated this using the song, “Sweet Dreams,” as an example. “How do we do that? We have the lyrics, so what we do is just start blocking them in going, okay, this would be a good place for it rhythmically. We just start slowly building it, putting songs in, just rough songs,” he tells Gold Derby during our recent webchat for our Meet the Experts: Film Animation panel (watch the exclusive video interview above).
