Kendrick Washington was born in Live Oak, Florida and has been entertaining audiences nearly his entire life. Kendrick began performing musically professionally with the world renown recording group called Special Generation aka The G Boys. One powerful smooth vocalist who had an amazing influence towards the global success of Stanley Burrell aka MC Hammer. Capitol Records signed a deal with Kendrick and his group members in the early 90's understanding that they did the complete background vocals for their Artist Hammer on songs like; "U Can't Touch This"," Help The Children", "Tell Me Have You Seen Her", "Pray", "Dancing Machine" and "On Your Face".
It was Felton Pilate & James Jae-E Earley who officially brought Kendrick's group Special Generation to record background vocals and perform on tour with MC Hammer during the years of 1988-1991. By 1991 Kendrick was awarded with four (4) Gold Records and then honored by the RIAA association for his contributions towards the first Hip Hop Album to be certified as a Diamond Record entitled" Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em".
Kendrick has shared many performance stages with artist like the Rude Boys, Silk, Guy, Troop, Patti La belle, TLC, KC- Jojo, Boys 2 Men, Oaktown 357, Joey B Ellis, B Angie B, Bobby Brown, Benito, Hammer's Tour; Let's Get it Started, Please Hammer Don't Hurt em, Johnny Gill, Bell Biv Devoe, After 7, Tevin Campbell, Babyface, Toni Tony Tone and many performers from the 90's era.
Following such international success the group went on to acquire Hit Singles of their own that climbed the US Billboard 200 charts for 21 weeks that peaked to # 4 with a song called "Love Me Just for Me". As in addition to his music career he has been a member of SAG-AFTRA for a while living between the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area California and is eager for voiceover work and film extra credits. Kendrick's film & video credits began in the early 90's globally over many networks, appearing on shows like Oprah Winfrey as live performer, Arsenio Hall Show, Rick Dee's Show, Party Machine, American Music Awards. Pepsi Commercials and British knights Commercials; Movies credits like" Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em" the Movie.
In 2005, Kendrick formed his company Akachi Digital which continues to spread wings within the film & media industry producing short documentary films along with video content for musical clients.
Through it all, Kendrick's skills as a musician, music producer, voice over actor and entrepreneur plans to prevail over time and become a supporting influential vessel to the American working community.
