Up next from Brad Anderson (Session 9, The Machinist) is the new horror movie Blood later this month, and he’s also directing an upcoming action-thriller titled The Silent Hour.
THR reports that Sandra Mae Frank (Daybreak) and Mekhi Phifer (Dawn of the Dead) have signed on to co-star alongside Joel Kinnaman and Mark Strong in The Silent Hour.
“Kinnaman stars as a Boston police detective who suffers hearing loss after an on-the-job accident. Sixteen months later, he and his friend and partner team up to battle corrupt cops trying to eliminate a deaf murder witness in the apartment building where she lives.”
Dan Hall wrote the script for The Silent Hour, filming in late February.

Chucky hasn’t finished terrorizing Hackensack just yet: Syfy and USA Network have renewed the horror series for a second season, which will air next year.
“We’re thrilled to start pulling the strings on a second season of puppet mayhem with Chucky,” executive producer Don Mancini said in a statement. “Many thanks to our partners at USA, Syfy and UCP for their incredible support and guidance bringing Chucky to the small screen, bigger than ever. And to the fans, Chucky sends his still-undying thanks, and a message: ‘This isn’t over, not by a long shot. You better watch...

Relationships on television shows offer a lot to their fans, and it isn't like their sex scenes are the main reason we love them, but they are still really important.
A sex scene will make or break a couple if executed a certain way. Because it is all about the chemistry between a couple, and if they have a sex scene, and they don't show any of that energy, then they don't stay on our minds for too long.
Luckily, there is now this list that compiles some of the hottest sex scenes that we will never be able to forget.
Oliver and Felicity (Arrow)
With the wonderful news that Emily Bett Rickards is coming back for Arrow's final episode, it feels fitting to travel back to a time when this scene hit our screens.
There was so much buildup between Oliver and Felicity that, of course, they also delivered...

Netflix's genre-bending Daybreak ends its first season on a shocker. The producers talk about the big twist that sets up season 2.
Through 10 episodes, Netflix’s Daybreak has a little something for everyone: Mad Max-style tribes, Ghoulies, mutated animals, catchy cereal jingles, a samurai episode narrated by RZA, and a Japanese cover of the Backstreet Boys inescapable “I Want It That Way.” At the center of this explosion of genre sensibilities is the quest for survival in the apocalypse–a metaphor for high school experience–and what we’re led to believe is a love story for the ages between Josh (Colin Ford) and Sam (Sophie Simnett).
Only Josh and his “killer origin story” of revenge, drama, fights, and love is not exactly what our mostly reliable narrator made it out to be. In episode eight, flashbacks reveal that it wasn’t the apocalypse that tore Josh and Sam apart.

There will always be a show that feels different, sometimes in ways that you can't explain.
Daybreak is exactly that, except it goes out of it's way to stand out because of it's insistence to not be boxed down to one type of show.
It is everything from a samurai saga to a coming of age story to a romantic love story to Mad Max fueled action sequences.
The reason that Daybreak gets it right is that it doesn't take itself too seriously and yet at the same time goes out of it's way to focus on an emotionally driven story about finding your tribe.
There is so much going for the show, even in just the introductory episodes, because of the attention that is given to details that shape the overall story into a meaningful example of pure understanding.
Across the board, there is so much through being put into creating Daybreak,...

Despite its somewhat preposterous premise, Daybreak manages to succeed with its likable characters, sharp wit, and compelling drama.

This spoiler-free Daybreak review is based on viewing of the first five episodes.
Every show should be judged based on its success in entertaining the audience for which it was intended, and Daybreak, as a post-apocalyptic teen dramedy, will doubtlessly please those who enjoy a bit of fourth wall breaking narration and exaggerated iterations of high school cliques in survival mode. The logic behind the premise that a biological weapon killed most adults and turned others into zombie-like “ghoulies” will quickly be seen as unimportant simply because the characters themselves are compelling, particularly the show’s protagonists Josh (Colin Ford), Wesley Fists (Austin Crute), and Angelica (Alyvia Alyn Lind).
Daybreak centers around those attending Glendale High School in sunny California, and the tribal society that forms after the...

You thought your four years of high school were hard? Try getting through it after a nuclear blast basically wipes out the planet on the night of Homecoming. Netflix's latest coming of age story Daybreak follows an eclectic group of survivors in a treacherous post-apocalyptic world full of hormones and vicious tribes kicking ass as they figure out this whacky thing called life.
It's as if Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Mad Max had a baby, which is appropriate considering Matthew Broderick stars as Glendale High School's Principal Michael Burr, alongside Colin Ford as our sassy young protagonist Josh Wheeler; Sophie Simnett as Sam Dean; Austin Crute as Wesley Fists; Alyvia Alyn Lind as Angelica Green; Cody Kearsley as Turbo Bro Jock; Jeanté Godlock as Mona Lisa; and Gregory Kasyan as Eli Cardashyan. Watch the trailer above, and get ready for the Battle Royale when Daybreak drops on Oct.
