- Gavin Smith, was last seen at his friend's residence in the Oak Park area of Ventura County between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012. In March 2013, his missing persons case was reclassified as a homicide case when his Mercedes sedan was found in a storage locker. He was eventually declared legally dead in May 2014. Gavin's remains were located and identified in early November 2014. His killer, John Lenzie Creech, was convicted in July 2017 of voluntary manslaughter for causing his death (which he admitted).
