- Was appearing in the show Mr Bluebeard at the Birdcage Theatre in Tombstone, at the time of The Gunfight At The OK Corral.
- Vaudeville actor who, after the death of his wife Madeline Morando, put his children in the act as a way to keep custody of them. The children, who became known as the "The Seven Little Foys" were Eddie Foy Jr., Bryan Foy, Charley Foy, Irving Foy, Madeline Foy, Mary Foy and Richard Foy.
- Was appearing in Chicago in "Mr. Bluebeard" when the Iroquois Theatre Fire broke out. Foy is credited for calming the audience and saving many lives during the fire, which killed more than 500 and is still the worst theatre fire in American history.
