During production of the Pilot of Wings, she received a call in the editing bay that she had terminal cancer. She cried for a moment and then finished the show. The character "Roz" from Frasier, a show created by the creators of Wings, was named in her honor. Doyle died in 1991, but Wings and Frasier lasted eight and 11 seasons, respectively.
