He witnesses a murder. The policeman in charge of the case accuses him. If Thierry rebels against the obvious his only issue is to escape. He ends up in a small sea resort where he meets Fontaine, a café owner who doesn't care to know anything...
- Créer une ville nouvelle, la bâtir de toutes pièces, est une aventure exaltante. A l'est de Lille, au cours des années 1970, architectes et urbanistes ont ainsi fait le pari d'une cité originale, peut-être utopique. Mais comment cette ville, aux côtés de Lille, Roubaix et Tourcoing, a-t-elle pu s'imposer, et s'intégrer dans la métropole lilloise ? Comment Lille-Est, comme on l'appelait alors, a-t-elle réussi à devenir Villeneuve d'Ascq ? Ce documentaire, réalisé par Déborah Raimbault et Dominique Regueme, retrace l'historique de cette ville nouvelle. A base d'images d'archives et de témoignages, il revient sur les grandes étapes de cette aventure : la création de Lille-Est, imposée par l'Etat en 1967 ; la fusion des trois communes : Ascq, Annappes et Flers en 1970 ; la victoire de la gauche aux municipales de 1977 ; et finalement l'arrêt de la ville nouvelle en 1983. Le film propose également un regard sur l'évolution de la ville, depuis les années 1980 jusqu'à aujourd'hui.
