Friends of the Metropolitan Branch Trail (FoMBT) is recruiting volunteers. Please use this form to express your interest. Our power comes from volunteers to execute a large and growing list of ideas to improve the MBT and nearby communities. We have a volunteer WhatsApp group for robust communications and quick deployment. We're happy to utilize as little or as much time and expertise you can offer us!

Tell D.C. Govt the MBT needs Water & Restrooms
D.C. and NPS decision-makers: Please work together to install frostless drinking water stations on current and future segments of the Metropolitan Branch Trail. I often use it as a running route and many running clubs use it. Even when we remember to carry water, our bottles need filling. Please also work together to install trash and recycling cans on the trail. I bring snacks for long runs. There aren't many places to throw out wrappers, especially when I go north of the Brookland-CUA Metro stop. I expect local government to provide essential amenities in public spaces. It's great to see developers next to the trail adding features, but trail users have less recourse for operations of privately-owned amenities. Thank you.
