When should I see my Health Visitor?

A health visitor will visit you at home when your baby is about two weeks old, and you will be offered further appointments in the following weeks. We will also contact you when your child is 6, 15, 27 months and 3 ½ years of age to see how you and your children are doing.

My baby is ill, what should I do?

Accepted Answer

If you are concerned that your baby may be unwell, trust your instincts and seek professional advice promptly. If you notice concerning symptoms such as difficulty breathing, difficulty waking, unresponsiveness, abnormal breathing, a high or low temperature, or if they are extremely irritable or floppy please seek emergency medical attention immediately by calling 999 or visit A&E.

For less urgent cases, schedule an appointment with your child's GP or healthcare provider who will help determine the cause and appropriate treatment.
