Comeback Post

Finally. Fiiiinallly!

I have the urge to write again. for my personal read.

social media today has too many eyes on me if u know what I mean? despite its simplicity & mobility to access, post and edit things to post online, I feel it has lost its touch to allow people to narratively express their thoughts. digital disruptions. yeah, it changes life, it changes how people interact, reacts and so much more.

am I getting old? judging by the number, yes. older, but WISER. older, but UPDATED 😛

How many years has it been? 3, 4, 5? I’ve lost count. just a quick note, I am a mother of FOUR now. last time I posted here, I was a mother two. time flies 🙂 but you are not forgotten, love.

it must’ve been destined that I found my way back to you again, given the circumstances I’m in now. I feel like being surrounded by dark clouds all the time. strong winds continuously blowing hard onto my face showing no sign of stopping. to straw one single breath just seems impossible.

I miss the time when things were a bit predictable, and in order, despite the huge & challenging context i was in. but then there it was; beautiful friendships, silly, honest, and joyful moments, room for creativity, learning and so much more; repeatedly altogether in one short span of time. honestly, i miss those. like thousand times.

the thing i’m in now? hmm. most of the time, i feel like i’m being cheated. i was hoping for another adventure, but usually what came are things i didn’t sign up for in the first place. i constantly took it positively, but yeah, no one can deny the fact that it is a rough, bumpy and dark road. i feel like my happiness, honesty, and warmth has been viciously robbed. while i am slowly being turned into someone else.  anger and hopeless, are sometimes what i feel now.

enough blab for now. this the first after soooo many years. hopefully there wont be more. till then, love.

Marathon update for the past months..

Oh dear, i’m seeing spider webs everywhere. pardon for the silence blog. i’ve been busy elsewhere and the convenience of having instagram and other mobile apps made it look like u’ve been ignored for quite some time.

honestly, i have the slightest idea what to write here, where to begin. time flew pretttty fasttt in 2012. each month passed with unforgettable events and suddenly we are already in the end of Quarter 3 2012!  I’m thinking of checking my phone gallery timeline to backtrack the happenings since i last update this blog.

April
1- Elyssa got warded for 5 days due to some bacterial fever; plus a strike of febrile fit that made things even more serious at that time.

May
1 – MOH, Irene and Elyssa tagged along with me to Singapore.

I was on a business trip but the meeting was scheduled for 2 days only. We extended our stay and went to the USS. overall, it was a brief trip and cannot be considered as a family vacation at all. it was more a less a ground survey.. hehehe. but at least, we know what to expect there it and will definitely plan for another visit there. next stop, Sentosa Island 😀

2 – side note on Elyssa’s health. she got fever twice this month; during Singapore visit and 2 weeks after that.

June
1 – Wedding bells of my cousin, Pudin. My parents decided to held a Tahlil & Kenduri Kesyukuran for him at our house, since my aunt (mother of my cousin) has passed away many years ago. The event was also to celebrate our 5th year wedding anniversary. Attended by all uncle, aunts and cousins from my father’s side, guests from our own Kariah Masjid and Orphanage, Alhamdulillah it was a successful event although it started a bit later due to another ad-hoc event that took place at the mosque on the same night . Everyone was satisfied with the food served.. and most importantly, the event went well.

2 –  Subsequently, the wedding event of my cousin at Semenyih.

3 – MOH, Irene and Elyssa tagged along with me to Cherating, Pahang. It took only 1/2 day for me to work and we extended our stay till weekend. Visited the Turtle Sanctuary, had some keropok lerok and spent a very brief time at the beach. yang ni pun i tak count as vacation.. huhu

4 – Irene’s Sports Day

image

5 – Me going to Bali. Alone. This was strictly a-week business trip..so there was no chance for anyone to tag along. Plus, MOH already took few days off in the same month.

July
1 – MOH got myself a priceless gift! It was my birthday month! Sneak peak.. 😉

2- Made a meaningful decision after a 2-hour survey at one of the famous automobile showroom. Alhamdulillah, we are glad with the decision we made that day 😀

2 – Went to Perpustakaan Raja Tun Uda, Shah Alam for the 1st time. In Holy Month of Ramadhan!

August
1- Elyssa was down with fever again..it went on and off for a week. Surprisingly, she took on a set of new skills once recovered. Org tua2 kata, demam sbb nak melangkau tahun! Yes, she was going to be a 2-yo three days before Syawal (according to Hijrah Calendar).

2 – Its Eid Mubarak! Still fresh huh.. So this year we celebrated at Sg Petani, Kedah. It was an entirely different from the past experiences altogether.

I made sup tulang, sambal kicap, nasi impit and rendang daging for the Syawal menu. MIL ordered some ketupat palas and serunding. And oh, my youngest BIL brought some pizza and KFC on top of everything. Alhamdulillah, most uncle and aunts were gathered at my in-law’s house that day and the girls had a lot of fun!

2nd day of Syawal we went to Batu Feringgi and spent almost the whole day there. Elyssa get to experience her 1st ferry ride! 3rd day we hit the road to the Arau, Perlis..Bdr Darul Aman and visited a dear friend, Iliani at her parent’s house in Sg Petani before heading home. We slowed down a bit on 4th Syawal.. lazying around at home most of the time, charging up before going back to KL the next day.

3 – Unbelievable or not, i had to re-visit Batu Feringgi for a 3-day business meeting. So here i am now while typing this out. This time, only MOH tagged along. The girls get to spend a week with my parents; which means a countless hari raya trip and kenduri kawin with dearest mak tok & abah tok (yes, my parents love doing this).

well, those pretty much sums up everything. will be updating it with pictures shortly! 😉

The beginning of 2012 treats

It was the long-awaited weekend that we’ve been looking forward to since last Feb. but due to poor health of everyone in the family, we were only able to make it yesterday, Alhamdulillah. this was more like multiple celebration to ourselves i.e.  March birthday celebration for the duo (hubby & Irene), recovering from poor health conditions and de-stress treat for myself due to loads of unnecessary office work 😛

Since the place is quite near to home, we left around 11 am and arrived at PD after an hour. due to fact that school holidays are over, we thought that there would be less crowd this weekend. but, it turned out we thought wrong. cars were everywhere on the roads & blue-ish politic flag were lined by the streets! i finally figured out why..*dang*

image
Red merah, Blue Biru, Yellow Kuning. Hei! *lagu Irene*

but thankfully, the traffic crawl wasn’t as bad as in KL town. we’ve got plenty of time before check-in (check-in after 0300 pm). we stopped for lunch and stock up some food (biscuits, drinks, and Maggi hehe) at Telok Kemang area before headed to the resort.

wajah-wajah mangsa kelaparan

once there, we were caught by yet another surprise. yup…the politicians and police escorts were gathered there as well, for a lunch time-out (i guess) before hitting the road to their next destination. parking lots too were full. oh well, this where it becomes an advantage to us *grin*

our room was upgraded from sky pool villa (apartment style, kene naik lift) to garden villa, the one that sitting on the beach!

The view to our Garden Villa, Grand Lexis, Port Dickson

should we thank em from staying too long after check out time? nahhh.. 😛

one thing that i love here is that, there’s a buggy service from hotel lobby to the Garden Villa. kinda remind me to the Hanoi Westlake Hotel  i stayed some years ago.  well, buggy ride definitely saved us  from doing all the walk with bags and stuffs & most importantly, the ride made the girls happy *weee*

image
me and the girls, sitting at the back. i wish i had a farther shot of their faces

in less than 5 mins, we arrived at our room. and walla…

image
Irene sempat buat iklan syampoo hihih

both girls went bezzerk with the pool sitting right across the entrance. the room was as spacious as expected, with 2 king-sized bed, and a long hallway headed to a dry kitchen & full bathroom.

image
see that glass on the floor? suppose for watching sea creatures at night, but lighting was too poor we cant see a thing
that long hallway
empty bowls and cutlery provided for use

one thing we never thought of was, to bring the kids’ floaters. i suppose places like this provided some for rental, but unfortunately they don’t. so..hubby had to make a special trip buying floaters for Irene & Elyssa at the nearby beach. well, it did took almost an hour coz of the traffic & parking issue, so i was on a single mission to distract both girls from going to the pool before time.

Irene merasmikan king bed sambil tgk tv
Elyssa sulked coz mama joined kakak duduk atas katil without her
ok dah happy!!
Pool time! Ayah came back with floaters Ben10 for kakak & Angry Bird for adik 😀

It was a tiring evening for the kids, we didn’t even bother to went out to the nearby Medan Ikan Bakar for dinner. we had in-room service instead, with Irene’s demand for spaghetti instead of local delights. *kalau mkn kat Medan Ikan Bakar, sure dia tak layan*

we had our 2nd round of pool time the following morning, shortly after breakfast. left the resort around 1130am, hoping the kids would be in lala-land as soon as we reach home. check-out was pretty fast, despite the large number of guests who decided to leave around the same time as us.

all in all, it is the best weekend so far, and so much looking forward to have another weekend getaway in the near future insya-Allah. Thanks to dearest hubby for the last minute booking, despite of our impromptu decision on the way to breakfast last Wednesday *muacks* Syukran ya Allah for giving us the opportunity to have a great weekend with my dearest ones.

Its Irene’s Turn

To go to school.Alhamdulillah, we managed to enroll her to a nearer place to home. A better place too, in terms of facilities, pengisian. And what’s best is both schooltime and daycare runs under a single roof. No worries for transportation, and Elyssa joins the big sos at the same school too (different classes of course).

All is well for Irene after almost 2 wks there. Morning prep is usually done with less effort or drama. Her smile & endless chat abt her newly found frens and school activities proves that 😉 Syukur..

I always look forward for weekend because

I get to do these..

1) Happy and leisure breakfast at McD. Recently there’s a new McD opened nearby our hse..like 1km apart from home sweet home. Dining-in has just got a lot easier especially when there’s plenty of parking space, variety seating choices and of course shorter driving distance.

Check out on what my two lovelies did on our 1st visit.

 2) Baking project. There’s more to come insya-Allah. Irene has proved herself as a worthy sous chef so far, while MOH is supportive with his food critique (i take it +vely), impromptu ideas & a voluntary tummy hehe. All I need is for Elyssa to give me enough time to sneak into the kitchen and get everything done while she takes a good afternoon nap. Well, that is one major variable but i hope things will still be manageable even if she’s wide awake.

This is what we did last 2 Sunday. Quick & easy. Well, its one of the thing Irene’s been bugging me since..few months back. Did i tell u how much i love the muffins turn out to be? Love love love, especially when i didnt follow the instruction written on the mix but make my own instead. It was so fluffy, moist & less sweet (important criteria!)..perfect to our taste buds.

By now i think i have gotten back my long-lost baking instinct, after a series of brownie and choc cake project since last Aidilfitri. *yay*

I am so looking forward on this weekend, since i missed last week due to Elyssa being sick and we had to spend nights at the ward. So, what’s your weekend plan?

Things i want to remember

..from today. in the car, masa on the way sg. petani – home sweet home:

1) Irene grabbed my fingers and started singing (her version of song. well, most of them are blurry words to me, hihi), in her low and calming voice. Elyssa was at that time sleeping on my lap. when i looked at her, she kinda blushed and said, “mama tgkla pokok kat luar tu..kakak nak (nyanyi) lagu..” sweet, and funny at the same time!

2) I was caught by surprised when Irene said she had a small cut on her arm, enough to make her bleed. my eyes were wide open and quickly pulled some tissue to wipe it the blood off. Irene remained calm, made that puss-in-the-boot eyes and she said, “mama, lap semua. mama cakap perlahan-perlahan, jangan marah k. mama kene sayang kakak..” air hati mak! she thought i was going to be frantic over what happened! turned out she had a kuping yg belum bape kering, then gatal tgn pegi usik. mmg la berdarah bile terkena kuku. adoi sayang..it needs much more than that to make me crazy ok!

3) Irene dropped adik’s napkin on my legs. Elyssa saw that happened and said “eppp!” for few times while pat her palm on Irene’s arm, kinda disappointed coz kakak buat kaki mama sakit bile that napkin fell on my legs. *awww..cair lagi hati mak*

I wish i could snap some pictures of that moment, but it was never possible. nevertheless, those moments are now part of memory that shall be with me, as long as i live..

That saturday

…which is finally for ourselves. Its been more than a month where there wud be ocassions after ocassions we had to attend or held. Yesterday was a good break from all those so hubby and i decided to go for outing, with a different  routine.

Usually we wud go out in the morning, went back after lunch hoping that both girls wud be tired and easily dozed off to lala land but ended up getting dissapointed coz they wud’nt sleep or nap at all. Well, most of the time either hubby or me yg pengsan for being tired after 1/2 day outing.

So this time, we started the day with the usual McD bfast trip, went back home for rest. In the mean time, i get to finish some laundry, prepared simple lunch and prep both girls (quick shower in case they’re too tired in d evening). After lunch & zohor prayer, we went out. This is indeed a meaningful day coz we had teatime, shopping, doing groceries n had early dinner.no rush & stress free coz kids were behaving well n crossed out the expectation of them doing their daytime nap. And the day ended even sweeter when both girls slept early, hubby and i get to watch Red Riding Hood + Season of the witch in one night! Well the 1st one dh tgk halfway tinggal sambung but still!! Hehehe.. Shud do this again.but when?? Next weekend balik kampung pulak.. Hmmm

Anyways, some shot from earlier that day..

Makeover week for 83

We’ve only have the chance to do some makeover only after a year of moving in. I gave birth to Elyssa in less than 2 mo after we moved in, and since then the hse has been in the same look.filled with only the ‘wajib2’ stuffs. We didnt spend time decorating or whatsover coz we’re quite full taking care of 2 demanding and clingy girls. Now that Elyssa already 1 yo and recently got her ‘L’ license, mama and ayah gets more time to decorate the hse n maintain it.

This week alone we had the potted plants n gardening project and the family area+living hall+minor kitchen makeover. Result? Satisfying.kudos to MOH steady hands and smart idea to minimize sepah for drilling work!

Next will be some photo project. But 1st, kene cuci gambar dulu 😉

Leaving on a jet plane

Today. Leaving Irene n Elyssa under a good care of my parents. MOH shall be spending lonely week at home. I’m nervous to be apart with Elyssa for the 1st time in her life..being a breastfed baby and all. And with Irene coz shes all grown up being a toddler, starting to understand things, emotional n ask lotsa questions. We think she’s going to miss us the most. Tsk..

One good thing is, i’ll be an off-duty mom for a week. Will try to take this as positive as i can (w/pun dah trasa bahang azabnye kene bgn mlm 2-3 kali mengepam susu..dushh)

a space i can call my own
