Michael Barrett

Michael Barrett ’98, an adjunct professor who teaches Technology Transactions, has been an in-house attorney at Cirrus Logic since 2012. At Cirrus, he works in all areas of intellectual property, technology law, and corporate matters. A Texas Law alumnus who also earned a master's degree from UT Austin, Professor Barrett previously practiced privately with a focus on patent litigation.
Michael Barrett has been at Cirrus Logic since August 2012 and is one of seven in-house attorneys in its Legal Department. Cirrus Logic is a publicly traded company based in Austin that supplies high-precision analog and digital signal processing components for audio markets. Michael works in all areas of intellectual property, technology law, and corporate matters.
Before joining Cirrus Logic, Michael was a partner at Fulbright & Jaworski, and previously an associate at Arnold, White & Durkee. His private practice focused on patent litigation. He obtained his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin and holds B.S. and M.A. degrees in physics from Texas A&M and UT Austin, respectively.
