Seven Lancaster-Lebanon League softball players have earned All-State honors, five of them first-team selections, from the Pennsylvania High School Softball Association, it was announced Friday.

BOYERTOWN — Hard to believe, but six batters into Thursday’s PIAA Class 6A softball quarterfinal between Warwick and Council Rock South at Boyertown High School’s Bear Park, the game was essentially decided.

And then there were six.
In the space of one will-it-ever-end shocker of a half-inning Monday, the Solanco softball team went from gotta chance to not a chance.
A dozen local teams — 11 representing the Lancaster-Lebanon League and one from the Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference — are set to battle it out in PIAA playoff action.
It was the biggest test of the season for South Western’s softball team. The Mustangs passed — perhaps not with flying colors, but certainly with flying softballs.
