Ioannes Dickinson (13 Novembris 1732 (2 Novembris O.S.)—14 Februarii 1808) fuit iurisconsultus, miles, vir politicae peritus, et scriptor Americanus, incola Philadelphiae Pennsylvaniae et Vilmingtoniae Delavariae. Praefectus militiae per Res Novas Americanas, repraesentativus continentalis pro Pennsylvania et Delavaria, repraesentativus in Conventu Constitutionali Civitatum Foederatarum anni 1787, Praeses Delavariae, et Praeses Pennsylvaniae meruit. Qui, inter divitissimos homines in coloniis Britannicis Americanis, scriptor rerum novarum appellatur ob eius Letters from a Farmer in Pennsylvania ('Epistulae agricolae in Pennsylvania'). Praeses Thomas Jefferson, certus eius mortis factus, eum agnovit "inter primos suasores iurum suae patriae a Magna Britannia oppugnatae,"[1] cuius "nomen in historia consecrabitur unus ex magnis rerum novarum laudandis."[2][3] Collegium Dickinsonium, Schola Iurisprudentia Dickensoniana Universitatis Civicae Pennsilvaniae, et Complexus Dickinsonianus Universitatis Delavariae ex eo una cum uxore, Maria Norris Dickinson, appellantur.
