Zeus (Graece Ζεύς, gen. Δίος; Aeolice et Laconice Δεύς; Graece hodie Δίας [Días]) in religione Graeca antiqua est deus caeli et tonitrus, qui rex deorum Olympi montis regnat. Nomen linguistice est cognatum Iu-, in interpretatione Graeca primae partis Iovis, dei Romani in religione Romana antiqua. Suae mythologia potestatesque similes sunt, quamquam aliquantulum differunt, a mythologia potestatibusque deitatum Protoindoeuropaearum sicut Iuppiter, Perkūnas, Perun, Indra, et Dyaus.

recensereZeus est filius Croni et Rheae. Cronus cum intellegeret se ab ipso filio caesum iri, liberos suos comedit, sed Rhea tristis noluit liberos caedi et Iove nato Crono lapidem, quem interdum Abadir vocant, pro filio dedit; puero autem in insula Creta in antrum quoddam abdito capram dedit, quae eum nutriret.
Zeus Crono et Rhea natus a matre sua ad Cretam missus est. Ibi deus a nymphis in antro montis Idae est nutritus.
