November 2025 Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Inspiration Kit Reveal & Social Media Hop

Well hello scrappy friends!  It's the first of November and that means that it is time for the CKCB Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop.  This month, Master Forger Brandi is taking over the blog for us.  She has chosen a kit from Cocoa Daisy, called October Glow, for us to use as inspiration to curate a kit from our own stash.  Here are some photos of the kit:

As you can see, it's full of fall goodness!  Before I show you my own kit, let me introduce you to our Guest Designer for November! Meet Lisa:

 You can find her here:

I really pulled out the fall stuff from my stash this month!  Fall is one of my fave times of the year to scrapbook and I love all things fall in the scrappy world!!

My papers, which include a 6x8 paper pad:

I also threw in quite a few embellishments and alphas:

My patterned papers are mostly Simple Stories this month with two sheets of 49 & Market patterned papers from their older collection called Take A Hike.  I felt like those gave me some premade backgrounds so that is why I included those!  My embellishments are a mish mash from Simple Stories, Elle's Studio, and Hip Kit Club.  I think there is one pack of ephemera from Fancy Pants.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Master Forger's kits this month by hopping along with us!

September 2025 - CKCB Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop

Hello Friends!  It's the first of the month and it's time for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop.  This month, Master Forger Vikki is taking over the blog and she chose this beautiful Simple Stories kit for us to use as inspiration to curate a kit from our own stash!

Before I get started on sharing my personal kit, I'd like to introduce you to our Guest Designer for the month of September.  Meet Stephanie, you can find her HERE.

"Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am a single mom to one son, a dog and two cats.  I have been scrapbooking for 25 years and I have just started teaching classes at my local scrapbook store.  I love to travel and spend time outdoors so a lot of my scrapbooking is centered around that.  You can find me on Facebook under Scrappy Adventures, and in The Scrappy Square group I admin with my bestie, or on Instagram @mamabear1900."

You can see her kit both on the CKCB blog link and the FaceBook Community.

So, I took the "lazy way" out on creating my kit this month.  I have that collection in my stash.  So, I pulled it and then added more embellishments from my stash to round it out.  Let's take a look at my papers.  I did add a couple of other papers from another Simple Stories collection:

You can see my additional papers on the bottom row, the two are the far right.

I had the 12x12 sticker sheet, the page pieces, and foam phrase stickers in my stash as well.  I added those plus a few other things.

This is a smallish kit for me and may be just what I need to finish it off.  Maybe.  No promises!

Make sure you check out our social media hop:

August 2025 - Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop!

Hello!  It's the first of August and that means that it is time for the August Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Kit Inspiration Kit Reveal.  Master Forger Laurie is in charge of the blog this month and has chosen a collection for us to counterfeit!  Here's a photo of the collection from Carta Bella:

Before I get started with sharing my kit and thought process behind what I chose, I want to welcome our Guest Designer, Nadine Michelle.  You can find her on YouTube here

I always start with the patterned papers for my counterfeited kits and this month, I checked my Carta Bella stash to see if I had any of this collection and I did!!! Here are the three papers from the Inspiration Kit that I had in my stash:

When looking at this collection, I looked at the flowers on the far left hand patterned paper in the photo above.  They reminded me of a Paige Evans collection that I knew that I owned a little bit of so, I added some of those papers and the embellishments.  That collection is called Turn The Page.  Here's a photo of the inspiration I got from this collection:

And here's the floral pattern from the Paige Evans collection that those florals reminded me of:

It's not a perfect match but I am sure you can see why it reminded me of the original pattern!  Here's all of my papers for my August kit:

I genuinely tried to keep the paper down to a minimum but I kinda failed since there are quite a few pieces in there.  Three of those sheets will be fussy cut because I didn't put many embellishments into my kit this month:

My kit is sort of small but still has choices in it.  I hope to use my Cameo or metal dies to create additional embellishments.

Check out the social media hop with our Guest Designer and the rest of the Master Forger team!

June 2025 - Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop

Whew!  It's June and I can't really believe it.  May was a whirlwind for me.  My husband came home on leave and that meant I had to have all design team obligations completed and uploaded to their various places before he arrived.  I worked hard and got them all up PLUS a few extra!  Now, that he's back at his deployment location again, I am slowing down a little bit.  BUT....it's time for our Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop over at CKCB.  I hope you'll check out the full hop!

For the month of June, I am in charge of the blog and I chose an older kit from Not Just For Boys kit club. I chose their August 2023 "Intrinsic" Limitless Kit. I love that this kit is travel related but very neutral so that you can make it your own easily!!!  Here's a photo of the full kit but without the add-ons.

There were a few add-ons available when this was first put onto their website so here are some photos that I grabbed of those from unboxing videos.

There was also a cutfile add-on.

Before I share the photos of my kit, I'd like to introduce you to our Guest Designer for the month of June.  I want to welcome MK Gunn who is not only a friend but a fellow YouTube content creator and owner of Some Assemblage Required.

I cannot wait to see her layouts for the gorgeous kit that she curated.  Go check her kit out in the social media hop listed below!

Now let's talk about my personal kit.  I always look at the papers first in a kit that we are using to shop our stash and recreate.  This month is no different.  I started with the woodgrain paper.  I didn't have that exact sheet but chose two sheets of Echo Park woodgrain that is very close.  I also dug through my Simple Stories Stash and pulled out that Boho Baby rainbow paper plus two coordinating sheets from that collection to add into my kit.  I also looked at the grungy, rusty looking papers and found a couple that matched closely.  After that, I rounded up my papers with other papers that were close.  Here are my papers. I tried to make sure I had some of the blue from the original kit in my own so improvised a little since I don't have a sheet with an airship/sunburst on it.

Normally, I have a lot more papers than this but I expect it'll be hard enough for me to use all of these so I kept it small this month.

My next step is to look through the embellishments in the kit and add some that are similar.  I also added quite a few Thickers and acrylic title pieces to my kit.

My kit isn't small but it isn't as large as I normally curate but I think that I have a chance of killing this kit if I work hard on some photos that need scrapped this month!!

Please take the time to go through the social media hop and see what MK and the rest of my Master Forger team have come up with for their own kits.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop - May 2025

It's that time again!  It's time to reveal the May 2025 CKCB Inspiration Kit and Social Media Hop, including our Guest Designer for May!  I hope April was good for all of you.  With my husband currently deployed yet again, I am just trudging along day to day keeping myself busy with my YouTube Channel and scrapbooking.  April was pretty good to me.  May will be even better because my husband is coming home on leave for ten days around the middle of the month! I am so excited!

Without further ado, here's a peek at the wonderful inspiration kit for the month of May!  We are counterfeiting Traci Reed's digital kit called Anywhere But Here.  Here's a photo of the kit preview, but you really should click that link to see the full awesomeness of this kit.  At the time of writing my post, the full kit is on sale for a great deal too, so if you are a hybrid scrapbooker, you should grab it!!!

I would also like to introduce you to our amazing Guest Designer, Scrappy Kathy!

Here are her social media accounts, go check her out:

https://www.instagram.com/scrappykathyy?igsh=dXR0OGliNjdpeDUy

I am a Design Team member for Traci Reed's 2025 Team so I actually own this digital kit.  I only put one piece of paper and the stickers into my kit.  So, here's my personal kit, starting with the papers!

I actually put more papers into my kit than I thought I would!  I did include some mini patterned papers into the kit so I would be ready for the Mad About Mini Paper Pad Hop I participate in each month on the third Saturday of the month.  There's a ton of older papers in my kit as well so that helps me to use up some older stash.

I also included some very old embellishments and pocket cards in my kit this month!  I'll be very happy if I am able to use those all up!  The Traci Reed kit stickers are in the white tray in the photo below.  I used my Print and Cut function in the Silhouette Design Software to print and cut those out!

I included three green alpha sets, plus a yellow scripty alpha, an Vicki Boutin alpha, a blue alpha that on the other side has an identical white alpah, some white chipboard travel phrases, and a partially used sheet of puffy phrases that have appeared in several of my kits!

My kit is large, but not as large as I normally pull. I hope that means that I can use up some of this older stash and create some great layouts this month.

Here's the social media hop for May!  Check out each of these links to see what our Guest Designer has in her kit as well as the take each Master Forger has on our inspiration kit.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a very scrappy May!!

April 2025 - Inspiration Kit Reveal & Social Media Hop

Welcome April!  It's springtime in most of the United States right now or at least showing the beginning signs of it!  I am ready to not worry about snow and ice, are you?

Today, I am bringing you my April Counterfeit kit but first let's take a look at the Inspiration Kit that Master Forger Brandi chose for us this month.  She chose the Lil' Man digital collection from Pickleberrypop created by Bella Gypsy.

So, I will tell you right now, I adore this kit.  I wanted to purchase it but didn't.  LOL!  I did a pretty deep dive into my stash for some really old papers but printed out some digital embellishments to round it off from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.  Let's take a look at my kit!

Here are my papers:

I pulled patterned papers from My Mind's Eye (3 different collections), Close To My Heart, Cocoa Vanilla, and Jillibean Soup to round out this 35 patterned paper plus a few scraps kit.

Next up are my embellishments and Thickers/ABCs:

There are a lot of print and cut embellishments from Cocoa Vanilla-several older collections that you can get digitally now on their website. I have a TON of old Ali Edwards Story Kits embellishments plus some Elle Studio pocket cards and Thickers and Hip Kit alphas and phrases sets.  I have a lot to choose from in this kit, which is how I typically curate a stash kit. I love choices.  I had to make myself  STOP looking at stuff to put in here or I would have never finished this kit! HAHA!

Next up, I want to introduce you to our Guest Designer for Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog for the month of April.  She is a friend of mine and a fellow YouTuber!  Welcome Briana from My Life On Paper!  You will be amazed at what she comes up with this month for her kit and layouts.

Here's what Briana has to say about her scrapbooking style:

"I have been passionate about scrapbooking for 25 years — and my extensive stash is proof of that journey. I have 3 young adult daughters and a husband that are the subjects of my scrapbook layouts.  Over the past 2.5 years, I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with amazing new friends through my YouTube channel. My style leans toward simplicity, but I also have a deep love for mixed media. My layouts often reflect a blend of old and new, bringing together timeless supplies with fresh finds. Lately, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the process of creating counterfeit kits, which allows me to rediscover and combine my favorite products in exciting new ways."

March 2025 - Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Inspiration Kit Reveal & Social Media Hop

Wow!  February felt like I blinked and it was gone.  This was especially true since January seemed like "the longest YEAR ever".  LOL!  Today, I am sharing the CKCB Inspiration Kit Reveal with our monthly social media hop.  This month, Master Forger Ryann is in charge of the blog.  So, let's take a look at the kit she chose for us to use to shop our own stash!

This month we are using the Sweet Shoppe Designs collection called A Beach Tale created by Kristin Cronin-Barrow.  It's a beautiful summery collection and is perfect for vacation photos!

Here are some photos of this collection, which I happen to own!  Look at that YUMMY colorful woodgrain in this kit!

Before I get to sharing the kit that I curated from my stash, let me introduce you to our Guest Designer for this month.  She is also a good friend of mine and I am so tickled that she's coming on board for this month!

Hello everyone!  My name is Martha Saenz and I live in San Antonio, TX.  I’ve been a scrapbooker since my early 20s – going on 27 years!  My favorite subject to scrap is my family.  It started with my nephews and nieces but then I got to be a Mom and my little boy Nick was my favorite subject, of course!  I may or may not have about 50 full 12x12 albums of just Nick’s life… LOL!  I blame it on being the youngest of five children in my family and there are hardly any photos of me growing up, but it’s all good!  I also have a chihuahua dog, my little Frankie, and three cats who Frankie works hard to “regulate.”  LOL!  All have their appropriate place in my treasured albums.

My scrapbook style is more symmetrical and neat with a touch of whimsy to keep it fun.  I love using my Cricut to make my own embellishments but do not set me loose in Hobby Lobby because things can escalate quickly!  Over about the last three years I’ve become more of a card-maker.  I lost my beautiful son Nick to cancer when he was 17 years old, which was almost four years ago.  I am here to tell you to never stop taking pictures because you never know if one of those may be the last one you have of that person (or pet)!  Keep on scrapbooking all.of.the.pictures. and always tell the stories of who and what you love, and the stuff that isn’t so great, too.  It’s so therapeutic to write it all down and get those treasured memories onto paper, not to mention Alzheimer’s is on the rise and it’s impossible to remember it all!

I hope we have fun this month creating and chatting about all things scrapbooking with this newest counterfeit kit.  My IG is @msaenzmd – “see” you all there!

OK, without further ado, let's look at the kit that I pulled which started out much larger than it ended up!  I got back from my cruise and went through the kit and decided to put some of it away!  Here are my papers.  I did print four of the woodgrains from the inspiration kit for my own kit.

The rest of the papers and the embellishments came from the July 2022 Hip Kit Club kit.  Their kit is almost the same color scheme as the inspiration kit.  My goal this year is to reduce the amount of HKC kits that I have hoarded.  YIKES.

There's also only one alpha in the kit, which is making me twitch just a bit.  I like lots of alpha selections but I had restraint and didn't add anymore.  I did add some very old washi style tape (bottom right of the photo) from Making Memories.  It's been in my stash FOREVER.  I also added some Freckled Fawn chipboard hearts, otherwise, everything else came from that HKC kit.  When we received our kits that month, the ephemera and die cut words weren't ready for shipment, so they provided the digital files.  I downloaded those and used my Cameo to print and cut those out.  They sent the packages the following month with our August kits.

So, that's my kit for March. It's smaller than normal but it's also something that I should be able to use up rather quickly.  Please check out the Social Media Hop for the Guest Designer and the Master Forgers to see how they pulled their kits together this month.
