Wow! February felt like I blinked and it was gone. This was especially true since January seemed like "the longest YEAR ever". LOL! Today, I am sharing the CKCB Inspiration Kit Reveal with our monthly social media hop. This month, Master Forger Ryann is in charge of the blog. So, let's take a look at the kit she chose for us to use to shop our own stash!
This month we are using the Sweet Shoppe Designs collection called A Beach Tale created by Kristin Cronin-Barrow. It's a beautiful summery collection and is perfect for vacation photos!
Here are some photos of this collection, which I happen to own! Look at that YUMMY colorful woodgrain in this kit!
Before I get to sharing the kit that I curated from my stash, let me introduce you to our Guest Designer for this month. She is also a good friend of mine and I am so tickled that she's coming on board for this month!

Hello
everyone! My name is Martha Saenz and I live in San Antonio, TX. I’ve
been a scrapbooker since my early 20s – going on 27 years! My favorite
subject to scrap is my family. It started with my nephews and nieces
but then I got to be a Mom and my little boy Nick was my favorite
subject, of course! I may or may not have about 50 full 12x12 albums of
just Nick’s life… LOL! I blame it on being the youngest of five
children in my family and there are hardly any photos of me growing up,
but it’s all good! I also have a chihuahua dog, my little Frankie, and
three cats who Frankie works hard to “regulate.” LOL! All have their
appropriate place in my treasured albums.
My
scrapbook style is more symmetrical and neat with a touch of whimsy to
keep it fun. I love using my Cricut to make my own embellishments but
do not set me loose in Hobby Lobby because things can escalate quickly!
Over about the
last three years I’ve become more of a card-maker. I lost my beautiful
son Nick to cancer when he was 17 years old, which was almost four
years ago. I am here to tell you to never stop taking pictures because
you never know if one of those may be the last one you have of that
person (or pet)! Keep on scrapbooking all.of.the.pictures. and always
tell the stories of who and what you love, and the stuff that isn’t so
great, too. It’s so therapeutic to write it all down and get those
treasured memories onto paper, not to mention Alzheimer’s is on the rise
and it’s impossible to remember it all!
I
hope we have fun this month creating and chatting about all things
scrapbooking with this newest counterfeit kit. My IG is @msaenzmd –
“see” you all there!
OK, without further ado, let's look at the kit that I pulled which started out much larger than it ended up! I got back from my cruise and went through the kit and decided to put some of it away! Here are my papers. I did print four of the woodgrains from the inspiration kit for my own kit.
The rest of the papers and the embellishments came from the July 2022 Hip Kit Club kit. Their kit is almost the same color scheme as the inspiration kit. My goal this year is to reduce the amount of HKC kits that I have hoarded. YIKES.
There's also only one alpha in the kit, which is making me twitch just a bit. I like lots of alpha selections but I had restraint and didn't add anymore. I did add some very old washi style tape (bottom right of the photo) from Making Memories. It's been in my stash FOREVER. I also added some Freckled Fawn chipboard hearts, otherwise, everything else came from that HKC kit. When we received our kits that month, the ephemera and die cut words weren't ready for shipment, so they provided the digital files. I downloaded those and used my Cameo to print and cut those out. They sent the packages the following month with our August kits. So, that's my kit for March. It's smaller than normal but it's also something that I should be able to use up rather quickly. Please check out the Social Media Hop for the Guest Designer and the Master Forgers to see how they pulled their kits together this month.
