I'm gobsmacked when someone tells me how much they paid for something or that they spent $X shopping. Honey, I work with people that make 3x what you and I together make and they'd NEVER spend that shopping, they'd think you were STUPID. As my mother always said, "if they have to tell you about it, they aren't much to begin with"... bragging about MATERIAL things has become so commonplace amongst 'wannabes'. It's mind-boggling; they don't get that in of itself negates any value/class.
