Chest port scar tattoo

Kerry Wright, 54, and two other breast cancer survivors took back their bodies and turned their mastectomy scars into art with stunning tattoos. The non-profit Personal Ink helped connect them with volunteer tattoo artists to make it happen.

People go through many different things in their lives and are often left with scars that remind them of very unpleasant times. And while there is no way to forget these sad moments, they don’t need to see their scars every single day. So, in order to help themselves, they decide to cover the scars up using tattoos.

Tattoos mean different things to different people around the world. For some they're nothing more than a fashion statement, while others get them for cultural reasons, like the Māori for instance. Many get them as a memento of a time, place, or person. But some people choose to get a tattoo for an entirely different reason, such as to cover up a scar for example.
